Louie is an American comedy-drama TV series on the FX network. It is written, directed, edited and produced by show creator stand-up comic Louis C.K., who stars as a fictionalized version of himself, a comedian and divorced father raising his 2 daughters in New York City. The show has a loose format atypical for TV comedies, consisting of "extended vignettes" revolving around Louie's life, punctuated by live stand-up.

So, this sub is kinda dead, but I'm not sure where else to ask this. I haven't finished the show yet, so keep that in mind. What's the deal with Louie's mum? In the flashbacks, she seems normal, like she has her issues but she's nowhere near close to the horrid narcissist she appears to be present day. Also, where is Louie's brother in the flashbacks?
Hi everyone,
I could have sweared to having heard an uncensored version of Louie distroying that woman talking while he's on scene in the 6th episode of the first season.
Does it really exist or is there only a censored version of it?
I’m sure this has been posted a million times but I’m rewatching Louie and it’s truly astonishing how badly this segment has aged.
does any one know the song me and this person are desperately looking for it, for real
On my first watch, I was under the assumption that Todd Barry was simply practicing his comedy and being sarcastic at Louie. But I recently rewatched Louie again and began wondering if this was simply a case of an unreliable "narrator", like every time Todd makes fun of Louie or whatever, it's actually Louie's subconscious feeling inferior to Todd? Or something like that. Thoughts? This probably isn't the case since we see other characters in some scenes respond to Todd making fun of Louie. But it definitely feels plausible given the surreal nature of the show.
I love the opening episode of season 3. Given the surreal nature of Louie, I was wondering if she was just a crazy woman misreading into things on my first watch. On my second watch, I was thinking that she was really reading into something or Louie was just too socially inept to have a relationship with her. What are your thoughts?
Trying to bring this show back in 2023
The flute playing when Jane is bored. Does anyone know the song?
Please help! I've been wracking my brain for this and can't find it
In the episode, there's a dialogue about relationships, and how sure someone was their wife was the one before they married
And the response was around never being fully sure, but being mostly sure and just being happy with who you're with
Edit: Sorry guys, I found it, it was actually Benjamin in Master of None, not Louie!
This is one of my favorite shows. It’s hysterical and heartfelt. And a just plain good show. But after Louie C.K was cancelled I haven’t been able to find it anywhere
I can't guarantee you'll like the movie as a whole (you might actually hate it in fact) but it's worth watching just for the first hour of the movie, because it reminded me so much of Louie. I thought it had a very similar energy and sense of humor to certain episodes of Louie in terms of the pure absurdism and surreal comedy that he would experience just walking around NYC streets, on the subway, in his own apartment, etc. lol
I'm talking moments like these ones from the show:
I just watched episode 3 of season 5 probably for maybe the 10th time, and I didn't ever catch that >!Louie pointed the gun at Lenny's head as the episode came to a close!<. What the fuck, man? I always knew that Lenny was modeled after Of Mice and Men, but I didn't know that it would end up that dark and literal. Just tripped the hell out.
episode 1 especially when the trash workers come in was awesome
The entire season was ass. Misery is wasted on the miserable yadda yadda, any true Louis CK fan knows Pamela from Lucky Louie. Just a wash of a season.
…please cut it out?
Trying to find the episode where Louie jokes about southern town names. Sort of a dumb joke that always makes me laugh, about how twangy southern town names sound
