This has got to rank up there with the top 5 episodes. From the gorilla costumes to Frank lying in post op after pain killers. This episode is soooo funny. Rusty needle, please.
Episode The Consultant (Season 3, episode 17) Henry is relaxing in a tub made out of some sort of metal container, yet the entire camp goes crazy over the bathtub ordered by BJ and Hawkeye. What happened to Henry’s tub.
Felt so bad for him! It was very interesting how the Army did go about finding out how medications affected people from different backgrounds.
Ill gotten bootie - or ill booten gottie. Makes me chuckle out loud all the time. My Gen Z kids LOVE MAS*H and also think this is a hilarious line. He delivers it brilliantly as usual. Great writing.
This was a terribly sad episode, especially when he comes out of his trance and the memories hit him. I don't know what terrible parent would put that burden on an older kid.
I've had this thought in my head since I was kid, Klinger carried on the Winchester Christmas tradition back in the states after the war. The orphanages and foster homes would always end up with boxes of candy for their kids.
I was watching Hawkeye last night and he says the 4077 is about 20 miles from here. And they send the little girl, off she goes.
She deserved a medal for making it 20 miles and bringing back l help!
S3E9 “Alcoholics Unanimous”…..one of my favorite scenes between Trapper & Hawkeye.
“You’ve taken the last vestige of western civilization here, and you’ve run it under your pagan wheels!”
Alana Alda and his father Robert Alda in a couple episodes. Bruno Kirby in S1E1 and his father Bruce Kirby S4 E6
On Jeff Maxwell's MASH Matters podcast they interviewed Jay King who did special effects (explosion of the tongue depressor monument).
He talks about the cast burying a personal time capsule late at night, off camera, outdoors near the commissry. It was uncovered years later and stolen!
This cracks me up because so many fans think the one buried on camera is the one found years later by workers - They wouldn't dig up a studio floor just for one scene!
I’ve been noticing that Colonel Blake’s cigars specifically look green. I don’t think it’s the film quality; Klinger’s cigars all look brown. Has anyone else noticed this and knows the reason why?
For those who don't know, the guy on the right is Gary Jones. He played a character called Walter Harriman in the show Stargate SG-1. For a good portion of the show, he didn't actually have a name, but apparently Richard Dean Anderson (the lead for most of SG-1), ad-libbed "Walter". The character's mannerisms are very similar to Radar. Anyone familiar with the show will know what I mean.
I'm not sure if it was intended, or if it was a choice by the actor. But a less MASH note, he got his surname, because Don S. Davies said "Airman", but his Texan accent made it sound like Harriman apparently.
