im thinking about how characters like rusty usually are either completely joke characters or characters that are shown to be evil or need to change. while i think he leens more the joke way, i dont think he really fits in either of these dynamics. hes just kinda a piece of shit..... but hes not "bad".
some of his worst aspects are more jokes than anything in the frame of the show. and while hes almost always self-centered, he still tries tries to make actions that wont deeply hurt those in relation. im specifically thinking about how he wants his kids to go to college for selfish reasons, but its still something that would be good for them in the long run.
i think it shows how we should think and relate to people with those narcissistic, traumatized minds. should their actions be excused? no. should they be seen as given a chance? do they still deserve the connections and friends and family? i think so. they just shouldnt be suprised if some of those connections decide to distance themeselves (i wouldnt be suprised if dean becomes a holiday and birthday kind or relationship with his dad).
I was so disappointed!! There was so many good plot storylines that deserved a season for it. Especially the arch vs Shelia plot
Man it was such a bittersweet end to this show but I'm glad it had an ending compared to a lot of cancelled show lately.
Overall love it but I'm just sad of what it could've had been but glad we got an ending to it all.
Based
It was the clearly superior choice.
I'm watching Transpotting and the conversation between Renton & Sickboy during the air rifle scene definitely gave off 21 & 24 vibes.
There's too many characters to love and draw so I started with just a few, at some point I hope to draw more, just wanted to share with fellow fans of the show! Hope you rnjoy
It might even be my favorite line Dana Snyder has ever said in any voice acting role he’s done!
I’ve started a rewatch of the whole series and hella ant to get a fire shirt or hoodie or something to rep the show.
Does anyone have a favorites they can link me/us to please? I wanna rock this some VB gear for NYE or the best time I DJ (playing some Technotronics tracks). 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
Who was your favorite character when you started the show? Who was your favorite character by the end?
If it changed, why?
Personally At the beginning- Hank By the end- Dr. Orpheus
I thought Hank was hilarious at the beginning of the series but it made me sad to see the way his character developed in an environment where the few people he could rely on either openly treated him worse than Dean or didn’t support him and held him back. Dr. Orpheus never misses, I love how goofy and dramatic he is and that he is one of the few genuine people in the entire show. Pure intentions, receptive to change, supportive, and hard working. S tier character
So, I just finished Radiant, and had basically watched the entire series in the week before. This is my second viewing of the series. Just needed a bit of familiar touchstone.
But what gets me is that Malcom is the only character who doesn't seem to have any real growth. He starts hating Venture being his very definition (and it's amusing looking back how he says something like "I hate myself almost as much as I hate Dr. Venture" at some point), and he ends the series at the exact same point.
In a show that went from being known about failure to a show being known about as character growth, The Monarch doesn't really have any. This makes me a little sad.
Animated this line as my animation homework for school. It’s taken out of context of the original episode because I’m not trying to re-animate the original shot or anything like that, just doing this as an exercise. But I guess it also counts as a fan art. (I really really love this show, I wish more shows that look like this exist.)
I found this old OSI print-out License To Kill badge among some old papers.
