For me, it was the moment just after John said goodbye to Olivia and Jack. With epic music playing in the background, he puts on his sunglasses and marches forward with purpose, knowing the work that was ahead of him.
Easily one of the most badass and masculine moments from John, and the one moment that really turned John into a hero (somewhat of an unsung hero at that, as the people of Earth had no clue about the Scarran threat and what John was going to have to do to save them all).
Hi Farscape fans! It's time to talk Farscape again, specifically about the dynamic between John and his dad and how it has been affected by John's previous encounters with alternative versions of Jack.
When John takes his cousin and dad up to Moya for a tour, John calls his dad "Jack" twice in a row and that scene has always struck me as being fairly powerful, and makes me think of whether the writers intended it to come across that way.
Jack doesn't really seem to react to this at all, and then it got me thinking about how badly John's mind had been messed around by the fake Jack encounter on the commerce planet where he was captured by that Scarran, or the multiple encounters with the (much less sinister) Ancients' representative.
And so when John finally returns to Earth and after spending time with his dad, is he still having doubts about this Jack's true identity and thus ends up calling him by his name? Has he been so desensitised by the various versions of Jack that he now doesn't really see the real Jack as his father?
With the stakes being so high for John at that part of the story, it's understandable that the notion of a father/family might become an afterthought. This is supported by my observation that he didn't really seem all that torn up when he finally had to leave Earth. Yes, he did shed a few tears and had a touching moment with Jack and Olivia but choosing the mission over his family seemed like a very easy decision for him (but one can argue that this represents strength of character rather than a lack of care for those close to him).
I'd also like to add in how John and Ancient Jack's relationship seemed at times to be a lot closer than John's relationship with the human Jack, but of course we can't bring this into the discussion because that version of John sadly never made it back to Earth. But it still makes me wonder!
I'd love to hear your thoughts on all of this! I'm sure I've read far too much into this, but I just love how these little details are sprinkled all over the show and how they tie in with the larger plot.
I just watched a movie I've been wanting to rewatch since my teens. It's playing on Tubi. What Ever Happened to Baby Jane? (1962).
I love this movie! It gives great Misery vibes. But I was very distracted by Joan Crawford constantly looking just like an older version of Aeryn Sun. The feeling got stronger as the movie played on. I wouldn't have been surprised at all if Joan was Claudia Black's mother. Sadly, she's Mommie Dearest, but that's beside the point.
Someone please watch this movie and tell me I'm not crazy! 🤣

They're playing all the fars, and all the scapes. Time for that rewatch!
As well as being a frelling epic show, Farscape is a gold mine for memorable quotes. What is your favorite one(s)?
Mine is from my favorite scene:
"I am standing in your heart, and I am about to squeeze."
Farscape is a famously Australian series; Australian accents; funding from Channel 9; Australian shoot locations and even a common Australian plant serves as a major plot device for the Scarrans. My question is: how big was Farscape in Australia?
I grew up in the UK and loved Farscape when it first came out. It contributed to my love of Australia where I now live, and it's fun to rewatch and now recognize filming locations. But in 8 years I have never once met anyone here who has heard of this incredible show.
Any Australian fans here?
Hi y'all! I'm thinking about making a YouTube recap and deep dive breakdown series for Farscape. Its a massively important show for me, so I definitely want to do it justice (it'd be my first time creating content like this). I'm aware of some shows like this -- shout out to the Farscape Continues channel! -- but not many. Is this something people would be interested in?
Sadly, the ship was unmanned, so the power of plot did not compel it to travel through a wormhole.
Someday…
I keep hearing that "fat momma bear Grayza" won this year. Congrats!
Farscape: “Thank God It’s Friday, Again”
BSG: “Kobol’s Last Gleaming”
Farscape: “We’re So Screwed”
BSG: “He That Believeth In Me”
Farscape: “DNA Mad Scientist”
BSG: “Valley of Darkness”
Season 2 episode "Beware of Dog" shows Crighton with a one-touch, lever action holster for Wynona. Does anyone know of a 3d print, or a vendor who sells this?
Was anyone else……….. disappointed at the scale of the PeaceKeeper wars? When I was initially watching, I was expecting battles between Peacekeepers and Scarrans raging across the universe……… and yet…….. all we got was one measly battle between five to seven Peacekeeper command carriers and five to seven dreadnoughts. I was expecting the Peacekeeper Wars……….. instead we got the Peacekeeper Squabbles. I know they had to cram a lot of what they wanted into two hour and a half specials due to the cancelation……. But still………
