They don't like her spoiled personality and her love-hate relationship with Ross (Monica: I'm Rachel. I love Ross. I hate Ross. I love Ross. I hate Ross) Actually I don't hate her but she's just my least favourite character (I hate only some side characters lol)
The guy's look on his face is just pure evil 😅
Oh my, the battle was so close I thought I was gonna have to post this round a little late today. Anyway, with 39 votes (38 plus the bonus point), TOW Ross Finds Out (Season 2, Episode 7) wins rank 9 and is the third episode from season 2 to make the list. Wow, people sure love season 2 and Ross&Rachel!
As I mentioned, the fight was super close. TOW the Blackout was almost our winner with 37 points; and will instead be our runner-up, winning an additional point for this round’s score.
Last round for our first half, voting is now officially open for rank 10.

What kind of Incense do we think Phoebe burns? I was just watching “The One Where Ross Dates a Student” where Phoebe and Rachel’s apartment burns down, and after the fireman asks “do you light candles, burn incense?” Phoebe replies “Yes, I do all the time. I love them!” So do we think she’s more of a frankincense or patchouli person?
I remember reading the original Carol left to pursue bigger opportunities. Whatever the case may be I'm so glad Jane Sibbett remained Carol for the rest of the show. Her and David have such a natural and believable chemistry and she also had a much better and more likeable dynamic with Jessica Hecht (Susan).
Jane's portrayal of Carol also seems more genuine in relation to her characters backstory. The original Carol seemed cold and mean toward Ross for no reason. The One With the Sonogram still ticks me off to this day - although I understand this was early days and they were probably still fiddling around with each characters personality.
I mean they’re very much opposites but they share so much too and complement each other well, all phoebe wants is to have a family to love and that loves her and Ross is exactly that kind of person and we know Ross is kinda quirky and goofy on the inside just like she is
They’re only problems would be because of their very different set of beliefs when it comes to religion and science
This and “no uterus, no opinion.” !!!
She never stopped being Street Phoebe since!
Remember in the one where there's two parties Phoebe is like sneaking people out of Monica's party to Joey and Chandler's. When one of the people she's sneaking out asks to get her coat, Phoebe says that there's no time and they cant take anything. Then they ask if the other party really has beer, and Phoebe says everything they heard was true. I know it's played as a cliche but this whole scene just seems so familiar. Did anyone recognize what movie or show they got this bit from?
btw, I wasn't born during this time so I'm not familiar with any niche movies or pop culture reference that relate to exclusively the 90s.
In S1 E8, Ross is clearing out his grandmother's closet and he is touched when finding a bunch of pink tickets that she had in a box. Afterwards, another box of the same tickets falls on him while he laughs and the others smile.
I just don't seem to get what's happening and why they find it amusing. Can someone explain it please?
Is this general knowledge or are we dealing with a assistant buyer who’s a fan?
Why does this apply on this sub to any problem anyone has with anything 5 of the 6 friends have done, but not to Ross?
Edit: maybe you've missed the Ross hate posts, but it's getting worse, not better. Not just about him and Rachel. There was literally a post a week or so ago shaming him for being upset and not having more empathy toward Phoebe for mugging him, with tons of agreement in a very long list of comments. This is NOT a pro-Ross sub. Hate hate hate, with some defending. If it's positive, it's likely pro David, not pro Ross.
Monica's (and eventually Chandler's) apartment was obviously the main meet up point during the show. But assuming Ross and Rachel stayed in his place, Phoebe and Mike stayed in her place and before Joey moved to California, where do you think the gang hung out after Monica and Chandler moved? I'd kind of assume Joey's as it's as close to Central Perk, but he wouldn't have the same comforts as Monica's.
Side note: what did Monica and Chandler do out there without all their friends?! I somehow imagine Monica getting mixed up in Desperate Housewives Wisteria Lane style stuff 😂
With 44 votes (43 plus the bonus point), TOW All the Resolutions (Season 5, Episode 11) wins rank 8 and is therefore the second episode from season 5 to make the list! I'm British and my mum pointed out to me that Rachel's trifle is called shepherd's pie which is made with lamb but technically it was cottage pie which is made with beef. There the same but depending on the meat they're giving a different name.
Just a fun notice. I finished the show today and started rewatching again and noticed phoebe sings my favourite things from the sound of music in the first episode in the coffee house and she mentions in the last scene of last episode that her and mike could be like the von trap family and I thought it was a funny addition I’m not sure if it was meant to be a connection. I’ve noticed a few others from first and last I just can’t remember them now.
