I'm really hoping the actual show isn't full of cheesy one liners like this.
His acting when Quinn and him were taking dexters statement at the end of the last episode, is absolutely amazing. He captures the emotion so well in that scene.
I mean seriously a journey of 2 months
After watching prison break which was amazing I watched Dexter which was literally the best show ever. I finished it today, now wtf do I watch when eating? It took me like 5 months to finish and now I js feel empty lol, I don’t know what show will even come close to it any recoms?
Thoughts?
You can't just fill a dumpster with bloody plastic every time. That's more plastic than people think. More than a few trash bags full, and if he threw trash bags full of bloody plastic in the water they would float.
Season 4 for me, angels actor delivered jokes so well and trinity was so funny in a corny way.
Title
Loved the show but I do have to admit it fell off from seasons 5-8. of course they were still enjoyable but never reached the enjoyability of those first seasons. Into new blood now, 3 episodes in and it’s already better than 5-8. I have heard the ending isn’t too good though. without spoiling, is it actually that bad or is it not as bad now that we know it’s gonna be continued
The dexter poster we have all been waiting for.
Just finished 8x12. Why has no one thought about Harrison? Dexter ‘died’, and Deb has gone missing/is brain dead. So no relatives are able to take care of Harrison. No one knows he is with Hannah. Even Astor and Cody would’ve surely wanted to see him at some point? What would they think? That he died with Dexter? He got thrown into foster care? Maybe it was cleared up but I’m confused. Please help?
I'm halfway through season 1, I don't think I missed it?
I think that John Lithgow's performance of the Trinity Killer DEFINITELY deserved an Emmy, however it seems like a big f**k you to Jennifer Carpenter, who gave it her all especially in the later seasons and deserved all of the awards. She is one of the most captivating and talented actresses I've ever seen. I think she is up there with Gena Rowlands in A woman Under the Influence and Toni Collette in Hereditary as far as portraying such raw and realistic emotion like that. Also Michael C Hall for never winning an Emmy. While Lithgow deserved it, it seems unfair and just rude that they give an Emmy to a guest star rather than people who had dedicated 8 years to these characters and grew in them so much.
I'm glad Michael and Jennifer won different awards outside of the Emmys, but its just a bug up my butt that they never got an Emmy lol.
I’ve been thinking about Dexter and all the "What If" scenarios that could’ve completely changed the show, and one idea I can’t get out of my head is: what if Doakes survived and Dexter actually ended up in jail?
Picture this—Dexter locked up, navigating life behind bars, surrounded by people who might recognize him as the Bay Harbor Butcher or just want to test the infamous guy they’ve heard about. But here’s the twist: even in jail, Dexter finds a way to keep up his "hobby." He’d be vetting inmates, crafting ways to get rid of them without getting caught, and turning prison into his own personal hunting ground.
Meanwhile, Doakes is alive, outside, and obsessed with proving Dexter’s guilt. Maybe he’s even partnered with Miami Metro in a reluctant alliance to unravel the new mysteries surrounding deaths inside the prison. The tension would’ve been insane—Dexter trying to stay steps ahead of Doakes while dealing with the dangers of prison life.
I feel like this timeline could’ve opened up so many possibilities. Dexter’s code would’ve been tested in ways we’ve never seen before, and Doakes? He would’ve been relentless.
What do you think? Could a "Dexter in jail" storyline have worked? And how do you think Doakes would’ve handled it all? Let’s talk about it! 🩸
I’ve been rewatching Dexter, and I can’t help but think about how each season had its own unforgettable Big Bad. But let me tell you—Trinity Killer still gives me chills every single time.
There’s just something about him. The way he balanced his "normal" life with his horrifying rituals was terrifying. His calm demeanor, the dark secrets behind it, and how deeply he affected Dexter’s life make him stand out to me as the scariest of them all. He wasn’t just a killer; he was a predator who got under your skin.
For me, he’s the only one who genuinely haunts me, even years after watching the show.
What about you? Was there another killer on the show that left you unsettled or kept you up at night? Let’s talk about it—I’m curious to see if anyone else feels the same or if there’s another contender for the scariest killer on Dexter.
Can’t wait to hear your thoughts! 🩸
I just finished watching the original series and also New Blood for the first time. I like most people found season 8 and especially the series finale comically ridiculous, but I really thought the New Blood finale righted the wrongs of the previous series finale.
Remember, Dexter got super sloppy and his judgement clouded when Hannah (worst character of all time imo, she ruined season 7 for me… no charisma and nothing to like about her and only had hot privilege) came into the picture, so it was fitting for him to continue being this way 10 years later, especially not having killed anyone in 10 years especially being distracted by Harrison. And he started ignoring his conscious a long time ago by ignoring “Harry”, so of course he would ignore “Deb’s advice”.
The Dexter we fell in love with was seasons 1-6, but thought that was his character in seasons 5-8 for better or for worse would’ve been so much better without the sloppy writing and introducing all these unnecessary new characters while him and Deb’s relationship plus people we already knew at Miami Metro should’ve had waaaayyyyy more focus. Michael C Hall and Jennifer Carpenter’s performance stayed incredible throughout even though they were subjected to shitty writing and new show runners who didn’t value the quality of the show like when Clyde was running it.
Anyways, I think New Blood gave us the ending that most of us always imagined that would happen in the last season. There are a couple things I would’ve changed of course, but at least it made sense unlike the original series finale. I would give it a solid 8.5 and have no idea why IMDb shows a 4.7. I love Dexter too and wish he could vigilante and take justice into his own hands forever too, but that wouldn’t make sense for the end game realistically. The original series each season was 3 acts, and from the jump ramped up on the last act and New Blood was no different.
It just makes me think that a bunch of fanboy incels can’t stand to think of Dexter dying and can’t see the forest for the trees (no pun intended). And Dexter betrayed Harrison so much, all the while Harrison had his own dark passenger, so it’s fitting he would go out by Harrison’s hands. Also, Clyde said a long time ago he would’ve had Dex die in the original series, but the Showtime execs saw dollar signs and wanted to keep him around for potential spinoffs and saw it as a cash grab instead of focusing on quality and consistent storylines. So him being the show runner again, what did we expect?
Those are just my thoughts since I just finished! So question, if you agree or disagree, why?
Can somebody explain to me why there was thermal vision camera in the forest near the spot where Dexter hit Matt in the head with the rifle? I only heard about trail cams in the woods that take a picture or short video I've never heard about anyone installing thermal vision cameras in the woods
Hey Dexter fans! I figured I’d see what you were hoping for in Original Sin! It’s definitely interesting going back in time before we get to Resurrection, but I gave my thoughts below on what I was hoping for if you’re interested! Thanks! https://youtu.be/7ZOOcbboO3g?si=SllINVVk4O8E00o8
Obviously Dexter is very smart and I have no doubt he’s better at blood splatter than Masuka but what about forensics all together?
The only information we have is that he has a black belt in jiu-jitsu, nothing more, if we analyze the fact that he beat several professional assassins in hand-to-hand, an assassin(who would kill Isaac), and Dokes(Former member of special operations).
Dexter is an agile, smart and skilled fighter. How did he acquire so much skill? Would it be a gift?
Why did dexter swap the blood results when quin had lindy his blood on the shoe. Now they will keep looking for the murderer... Like whats the thought behind that? Make Debra happy? She has the worst taste in men xD

That's pretty much it. I had this idea that dexter was a very tense, serious drama (which it can be too) with no comedy. But genuinely, the humor caught me off guard so many times. Especially seeing Dexter trying to behave like a normal ass dude and failing miserably.
Or Angel's LA PASSION.
I genuinely did not expect the show to have genuine comedy that feels natural, is quite faithful to the characters and well written.
I think Dexter will reminisce on why he followed the code, we'll see it again but in more detail, and he'll realise how many times he messed up, and come back stronger and better... Or maybe he'll realise the opposite and admit to it all. I don't think Dexter will make the same mistakes again.
It fits the arc, he started to slip in the original show, went into exile, away from civilization, retired, came back sloppy, and nearly got himself killed. It would only be fitting for him to learn this time around, and make some kind of promise to himself.
so in the final season saxon killed zach in his lab (the room that reminded him of his past). saxon made a clear video off drilling out zachs head and later placed his body at dexters home the whole reason why there was no blood at his apartment. one thing i dont understand is how saxons hair was stuck with blood below dexters table. dexter assumed zach left the clue so that dex could track the killer the killers dna but how??? im pretty sure zach wouldnt have been alive even after getting his brain drilled out and had the ability to leave back evidence for dexter?? i honestly dont know if i missed some info in bw. so help me out guys.
