Mine is “ARE YOU ABORIGINIS????!??!”
I don't watch cable anymore but I'd like to see it back on Nick@Nite or FXX. Or maybe even show it on TBS.
Ronnie’s a great candidate - new kid in town, unfortunate that he meets Dewey as his first new friend. Gets his surprise birthday hijacked with NOTHING that he likes, all just to fulfill Dewey’s birthday fantasies… Even though the party ended disastrously, leaving Ronnie with a smile - that whole scheme was so devious of Dewey lol
Post 2 in my apparent series of MITM appreciation posts that are seemingly way too serious for this forum lol and almost uncomfortable to discuss in this ridiculously PC world.
Scene: Malcolm walking away from banging a drunk Kirsten Stewart in the monkfish thanksgiving episode then Francis supporting his decision.
Not really much to say about this, besides that it stood out to me as another thing that, unlike any other show at the time or since (that I've seen), this hilarious show confronts and nails. An issue that wasn't really talked about until recently, in the early 2000s, and not in a cringey, pushy or preachy way.
Not the most eloquently worded post, and that I’m too lazy to fix, but here’s hoping that doesn’t undercut the importance of this theme and how awesome I think this show is.

I found this theory in another thread, and well, it cant be far from truth
Does anyone know in which episode of Malcolm in the Middle Lois apologizes to Francis for being hard on him? I remember a scene where she admits she was tough on him and asks for forgiveness. Thanks!
I was just watching episode "Malcolm defends Reese", and, even tho we at this point know how evil Herkabe is, it couldnt not make me triggered. Like, how is that not considered as bullying what he was doing to Reese. Why did everyone laugh? Why didnt Malcolm(before knowing his goals) report him? Why didnt he tell to Lois? Also, it has been already I think 4th episode in a row where Herkabe blackmailed Malcolm with something(Tiki Lounge, Malcomlm films Reese etc.). He always blackmails Malcolm with some "I wont write you good report for collegue" threat. Is he the only teacher who can do it? Is every teacher in America, in theory, able to do whatever he wants to a student, using the power of "writing his reccomendations for collegue"?
And yes, Lois totally killed that lady(there has been famous theory about it)
Malcom always thought he was above others, yet always wanted to be socially accepted, he looked down on “undesirable” people and often tried not to do anything he didn’t have to. By the end of the series and throughout, he’s shown to be highly intelligent and his family even has prospects of him becoming successful throughout knowing his attitude. Do you think his worldview allowed him to get ahead in the world this way or would he have to make changes to his worldview to achieve his own personal happiness?
Police station drama so juicy you refuse to get let out of jail before hearing the conclusion
Hello everyone!
I am looking to add a member to the mod team, so if you are interested, please comment in the comment section of this thread. Previous modding experience is not required, but am looking for someone who has posted to the sub before. If there are multiple applicants, my apologies in advance if I can't bring all on, but am looking to add at least one person.
Thank you!
Probably my all time favorite is the one where Malcolm and Reese get home and the house is locked. So Malcolm picks up a game rock to reveal a key under it, then Reese grabs it, says "I'll do it," and then throws it through the glass door. Then he says "Thanks, that credit card thing takes hours." Then Malcolm just looks at him in bewilderment.
Always wondered where that intricate dance came from. Maybe that traditional recipe they spend days cooking is based on something real too.
Share your favorite quotes below!! One I saw today that always gets me is:
“Don’t worry son, those are just lies I told to get prescription drugs..”
Way no. 2,394,390 MITM was understatedly unique, incredible and ahead of its time: I can’t think of a single show besides MITM including shows created and written by black people where white people, including the main characters, are portrayed largely as poor and stupid and all the black characters are wealthy, well spoken, sophisticated and educated. Race in fact isn’t even mentioned outside of a few deliberate jokes. Hal being the only white guy in a group of black friends is also unique, and it’s never directly talked about.
It isn’t unique however that it falsely focuses on and primarily portrays America, as almost every single show and in fact common discourse does, as basically a dual race nation (black and white).
If the family was truly drowning in debt, why didn’t they ever consider filing for bankruptcy? I know it really wouldn’t make for entertaining TV, but they’d probably be able to keep their house and car since they have dependent children. It’s not like the show would’ve taken a huge U-turn had they gone down that path.
