Isn't it weird that both Manny and Gloria wanted to keep Stella when Guillermo abandoned her but as Jay accepted her, both the mom and son started hating her and wanting to get rid of her repeatedly?
In the season 3 premiere. I just love the subplot with Mitch and Luke blowing up the birdhouse together. Plus, Mitchell's reaction to it is so cute and definitely relatable (because destruction is fun).
Mine is Cameron
A is for…
I don’t really know the consensus on Pam in here, but jeez she’s unbearable. Pam contributed nothing to the show whatsoever, just loud and obnoxious dialogue.
I would’ve rather had more episodes on Lily’s life, would’ve probably developed her as an actor, and give more depth to her character. You guys remember when Mitch and Cam found out she’s advanced in school and met the governor or mayor or whichever one it was?😂 Instead she basically gets pushed to the side by Pam. Honestly episodes about literally anyone else, I’d rather have full days of Stella eating and sleeping than Pam episodes.
My fault about the rant, this show is awesome! But I can’t stand that character.
So funny how Luke was trying to safe Phill from awkwardness around the whole "flu thing", by editing the wedding video, while everyone was just looking at their own awkwardness. Except for Gloria, she only saw her own beauty🤭
And the last pic where Mitchell looks at himself like: who is this guy...?
In S5E10, Cam goes to a charity event for homeless people (“needy”). Once he realises he says “i thought it was a charity event for the needy. Turns out, it was a charity event FOR the needy!”
What did he think it was originally then?
Under a different post on this sub, someone asked what spinoff would you like to see the most. I responded with a prequel of Jay in the 80's or around then, so right when Pritchett's closets is getting off the ground, when him an earl split. Jay would be married to DeDe, mitch and Claire would be in high school, so we could see some of these stories that they talk abt in the show, and js how Mitch deals with his sexual orientation. There is a lot of stuff they could do with this, as well as allowing for more comedic potential coming from an older time period. you could get a whole new cast, and would not have to rely on every actor coming back from the og show, so you could do it realistically soon. Ik this is not really realistic to happen but how would yall feel?
Who deserves their own series? I know most spinoffs don’t typically do that well, but hypothetically, imagine a world where the spinoff is just as good. I would have to say I’d love to keep up with Phil and Claire. They’re easily my favorites. But mostly Phil. I would love to see more magic and mayhem from him. Maybe some more ducks too.
A lot of the main cast suffered due to flanderization in the later seasons, but I think Alex was always pretty unlikable. I hate how needlessly mean she is to everyone and how everyone lets her get away with it because she's smart. Feels a lot like Velma from Mystery Incorporated and that's not a good comparison because Velma was toxic as hell in that show.
I find myself constantly saying "slow is smooth and smooth is fast" whenever I'm doing something, cause I love Phil and take forever to do anything.
Who is your favorite character and who do you think is the best actor on the show and why?
Personally, i don't know. And because i spent 10 minutes thinking, I'll just mention the one i can remember first.
Gloria: Nobody calls him grandpa.
Luke: I do.
Hi! Anyone know what episode/season Cam & Mitch made the funny reference to Nickelback?
I was rewatching season 2 last night and Watched the episode "Chirp" where Haley and Claire are sick and there is a whole misunderstanding where Haley things Claire is thinking of a divorce because Phil is a doofus where she was actually talking about Dylan.
Anyway, I hated that Haley actually thinks that Phil is a doofus. Is anyone else bothered by that?
As someone who isn’t from America I have always wondered what this mega shop is haha😂
Cam and Gloria are at the dress shop. Some lady steals the award of cam. Gloria destroys her confidence by wearing the same dress. Cam says "you should try the dress that lady is wearing" pointing at Gloria. But they literally are wearing the same dress.
What is the episode???
The first episodes/seasons of Modern Family were about this loving family that supported each other and their lives, and their conflicts between each other (most of them resolved in the same episode) They had a different kind of magic. Seeing Haley failing college, Alex and her problems "fitting in society", Claire and Gloria's personal differences...
Since season 6 (that coincides with Luke, Manny, Alex, Haley and Lily being more grown up) everything becomes a disaster. The characters become shadows of what they used to be, especially Claire, Mitchell and Cam. (don't even get me started on how gay men are portrayed. I know it's for comedic purposes, but it's still annoying) Claire seems to hate her entire family (in her defense I'll say that if I ever had a manchild husband like Phil I'll probably hate him too, but girl just DIVORCE HIM????), Mitchell and Cam also seem to hate each other and they become so selfish I can't believe I'm watching the same show. These two ADULT, GROWN MEN were offended because a couple of girls didn't want them as their surrogate father, just to say no to them when they changed their mind. Mitchell seems to hate more and more how Cam "can't adapt to being in the big city" and Cam is just a manipulator.
Luke and Haley date older (way older) people and for what?? only to make them last three episodes and leave it there. (I think the firefighter Alex dated is way older too but I'm not sure) and I'm not gonna talk about Manny because he's just an annoying and useless character once he grows.
I know all these situations are made for "laughs" and they're not mean to be taken seriously, but it annoys me because Modern Family used to be a comfort show to me. Overall they went from a loving, supporting big family to a pile of selfish people that they seem related. It's sad, but that's my opinion.
the hate. But is it really that justified?
A teenager is supposed to show off her curves and have a body count of >20. Why are people getting pi**ed off so much? We all have been teenagers and we all slept with multiple people. What’s wrong with that?
Why is she getting that much hatred for cheating? I simply don’t understand why she’s getting all the attention. I mean yes she’s definitely a badly written character but I think we can cut her some slack. After all women do love to sleep around and show off some skin.
