I think its either in season 8 or 9 when they realize Lily is smart and popular?
But the joke is that Mitch and Cam have no idea because they dont actually spend any time with her and don't actually know their own daughter.
So within one episode, they ruin their dynamic and make it canon that they are actually terrible parents. Mitch also tells Cam that they shouldn't make more of an effort to become a part of her life.
I think the season 8 finale also ends with all the kids driving away (or season 9) and it is at night and Lily is like 11? And they are fine with it.
I understand why they did it from a plot perspective (all the kids leaving the nest) but it always came off weird to me.
They also introduce the plot point that Lily is going to skip a grade but then never follow up on it. And the next episode we see her with classmates, they are clearly the same age as her. So what happened?
It seems like the creators didnt like the actress once she grew up and even after they explained that her sorta monotone acting was just dry wit, she was still sidelined.
She barely shows up and I think its a shame because I think Lily is a great character. And they sorta made Mitch and Cam worse by default by trying to explain what the Lily character really was doing between scenes (AND they never did anything with it either).
This might be one of the best episodes … especially the intro! I laughed out loud multiple times
Was no one else ready for the plot twist on s11 ep 11 of Phil’s dad dying. It was so sad after them having that day together
That whole scene with Farrah being an insufferable hippie and the chaos of the twins and Dylan and Hailey moving back in earlier without telling them made me so happy I’m not a parent because I could neverrrrrr have the grace that Claire and Phil had at that moment.
I know a lot of people were not happy about Hailey being pregnant with Dylan babies, But I feel like it was a great character arc for claire. When she told her parents she was pregnant dede and jay were not exactly happy or supportive. It was a big character moment considering Claire was exactly like her parents in little pieces throughout the show So When Hailey told everyone she was pregnant I bet a lot of us were expecting Claire to explode but instead she decided to be the parent she wanted when She revealed it to everyone. She was never dylan's biggest fan and she knew hailey was scared. So she decides to suppress it Is to be there for her. season one claire wouldn't done that but season ten claire Truly great character arc
My go-to is always the episode where they move Haley into college. Perfect mix of funny but so sweet at the end. Been having a doozy of a time lately and just wanted to get some other people’s favorites so I can watch those too
I’m British so i don’t know if this is a normal thing in America but why is there a door connecting Alex/Haley’s and Luke’s room? it just seems a bit weird
I feel pretty ridiculous for not understanding this, but at the end of this episode, when Claire tells Phil that "if she would have succeeded (in her plan), she would have robbed him of the greatest night" etc. I can't remember the exact words. Anyway, I have always been so confused by her statement. She WAS successful in that she stole his notes. And he had a great night as the emcee.
So what does she mean?? I'm assuming I'm not understanding something that's probably obvious to everyone else!
I find myself skipping episodes at times when there is a lot of fizbo haha I just can’t stand it at times 💀
why is her hair looking so greasy toward the last seasons lol
I'm on the seventh or eighth rewatch of the show and still i don't understand what Phill means....???
So I'd watched S1-S5 a couple times and watched S6-S8 once. I started the show about a month ago starting on S1all the way through and I'm on the last 2 episodes. Just gotta say this show is awesome. I really enjoyed watching it and it made me wanna smile and laugh even if I had a hard day. Honestly, I'm a little upset that I'm almost done haha there are so many things I could talk about but I'll just say again that I really enjoyed it
I'm graduating next week and am decorating my graduation cap. I'm thinking of putting modern family quotes.
Suggestions?
i know that it can just be chalked up to the writers convenience for the episode but it irks me so much every time i rewatch because haley has to be like 25/26 at this point since it's been 10 years since season 1 and alex is only 2/3 years younger than her
I'm on season 4 and I slept on this show way to long! It is hilarious! Every episode has me busting out laughing, and there isn't a single character that I'm annoyed by, which is rare. Anyways, great show, can't wait to see what's left
when mitchell is doing a confession, and he starts to speak about “ chad from accounting, who he thought was gay the whole time but apparently is not “ he does a motion where he pokes his forehead with his thumb. is there a meaning?
Cam is my favorite character 😅 idk I know he’s a bit of a diva but I’d love to be his friend lol
Is it the right decision for the show to somehow get rid of Pritchett's Closets?
If the reason of the merger is that they need EzraVision's technology, I'm pretty much sure that Claire and her team could easily find "nerds" to bring that "technology" in the company. They could have tapped into Alex's connections or even Phil's buddy Ling.
"Dog beds by Stella" is not it.
I don't know, my insomnia is acting up and I wanted to get this out my chest. Ha!
Season 1 Manny and Alex were on entirely diffrent level. Both understood their assignments very well.
