Rewatching the Originals and damn nothing makes me so sad as Camii's death. Did they really have to kill Camille?
I lost interest because Kole is a racist
If Klaus had sent Kol to hunt Katherine down.
How long would have Katherine made it before Kol found her?
My guess is a week before Kol gets bored of playing with his food.
What about you guys, prove me wrong or agree?
Mine is def the hollow š
I absolutely don't know why most peoples seems to think that wolf form is like the absolute peak power of Klaus or even Hope... LMAO
Turning into a wolf is like the worst move you could pull. MAYBE they would indeed get slightly stronger / faster on this form, but I'm pretty sure the marvelous blessing of opposable thumbs FAR surpass the slight boost they may get.
Basic form give so much possibility of movements and actions. You can jump around, turn anything into a weapon, actually protect yourself... there is just endless possibilities. What does turning into a wolf does ? Yaay, you're a super fast / strong dog now with insanely restricted movements... Nice. And this is even worse in Hope's case. She get the stupid movements restriction of a wolf body AND she can't do magic lmao
It's so funny to me that some peoples think that Klaus could beat Marcel if he turned into his wolf form of something... Yeah sure. The main thing of werewolves, that is tearing their victims appart wouldn't even work against Marcel or any Originals as they are indestructible.
For hybrids, wolf form is just a show off against weaker opponents and totally useless against equivalent or superior opponents.
Preface: Before you downvote, please read. Not hating on Hayley here, I like Hayley, but I have serious misgivings about her development.
I think it should be uncontroversial to say, even though I do know some people disagree with this, that Klaus was the most well-developed character in the series.
His childhood and how it shaped him is explored in depth, with both parents having their unique effects and relationship with him explored. The other early parts of his life are also explored, including how someone like Aurora affected what he became. A lot of the rest of the 900 years are not explored in depth, but we do see important parts (like when he saves Marcel) and a lot is hinted at.
Beyond that, within the story itself Klaus goes through significant development. He goes from being merciless and daggering his siblings at will and (pretending not to) care about his child, to starting to become more tolerant, murdering less, trying at least to take care of his child, etc. He even mends his relationship with Marcel to a degree and admits he was wrong to treat him as he did at the end of season 4. He also lets Rebekah go off on her own in season 4 which, while that might not sound like much, actually is huge for Klaus.
We see so many sides of him, from darkest to lightest. From ruthless murderer and power-hungry tyrant, to caring father and empathetic brother.
Klaus is a well-developed character. And I hope I've demonstrated that here.
And I lay all this out to compare him to Hayley. Hayley is not a very well developed character. She does have some development, don't get me wrong. She's not an awful, one-sided, flat character.
However, we never find out much about her adoptive parents, aside from that they kicked her out. I don't think we even know their names. We don't know what exactly happened on the boat trip that triggered her curse, nor I think even anything about the person she accidentally killed or how she felt about that.
We know that afterwards her parents kicked her out and she wandered about for a while but, again, we know little about this. We never get a flashback to it and she doesn't really talk about it much. The one episode that I actually do think does a great job of giving us some idea of this is the one where she's on the run with Klaus. Where we actually do see some of the people Hayley used to be connected with, some of how that shaped her way of thinking, etc. But this is one episode and one episode only.
Beyond that, again, we know virtually nothing about her.
On top of that, we know surprisingly little about how all of this affects her in the present. For example, we don't see any signs of like a fear of abandonment. Something that is a common reaction to some of her circumstances. You could argue her tendency to want to be independent is what came out of her past in part, but again the show doesn't really take the time to explore this. At most we have some vague idea that she always wanted to be part of a family and now she is so there's some implication that explains her dedication to the Mikaelsons.
In S2 we get the episode "Brotherhood of the Damned" which does a fantastic job not only of further developing Marcel as a character, but also clearly tying his past to his present. We see him struggling under Klaus' shadow, then learn to develop his own identity in the army, and leading his men to victory as vampires. And then in the present we see him holding together his people and even after being bitten by a werewolf bite managing to lead these starving newby vampies through New Orleans.
We see how he was, we see what he became and then we see how that resonates in the present day.
But where is this with Hayley? Aside from that one episode, we don't really see this.
And then there's another problem, which is Hayley's character development in the present day.
Now, I actually think on paper Hayley has a decent character arc. She goes from a somewhat naive, almost human-like character, albeit with a snarky and independent streak in season 1, to being a newby hybrid full of anger and violence, to finally having attained a sense of balance, moving away from violence (in fact being a voice of peace) and a leader among the species.
This is a pretty decent arc. But there is one, fundamental problem with it. Which is that the actual change in her character happens almost completely within timeskips.
The first change in character, from normal-ish to an angry and violent hybrid, happens a little bit on screen. We arguably see the very start of it when her baby is taken away in S1E22, and we see the tail end of the beginning in S2E1 arguably. But the entirety of the middle? It isn't there. There's a timeskip here between S1E22 and S2E1 where most of this development happens. And we don't get to see it.
The second large change in character, from violent and angry hybrid to more level-headed and a leader, happens arguably in two spurts. Once between S3E22 and S4E1 and once between S4E13 and S5E1.
Now, as you'll notice, this is AGAIN off screen during a timeskip. During S3E22-S4E1 Hayley spends several years with her daughter, away from New Orleans. And during this time she clearly has the chance to mellow out a bit and gain a different perspective on violence. And then during S4E13-S5E1 she has the time to become a real leader among all of the supernatural people of New Orleans, not just the wolves. In both cases we don't really get to see it.
Most of Hayley's actual screentime isn't about developing these things. A lot of it is plot related and a lot of it, far too much in my opinion, is just a romantic subplot between her, Elijah and Jackson. A romantic subplot which... we never do really get much insight into what that says about her character more broadly.
So, yeah, that's my opinion. I think Hayley was an incredibly underdeveloped character. And I actually think that is a shame.
Hayley, in my opinion, actually does have an interesting arc. And she does actually have a potentially very interesting backstory, with being thrown out of her parents' house and then having to wander alone. A lot of this could be very interesting to explore and I think that one S3 episode was pretty good but... it just isn't very much.
So, I like Hayley as a character. But when comparing the potential of the character, which I think was actually really high, to what we got... I think it's too bad. I think she was underdeveloped compared to what she could've been.
ā you compelled Camille Oā connel to write your story.ā ā¦girl she did more then just that HOW CAN SHE BE RAISED BY DECLAN & HAYLEY and KNOW NOTHING! They definitely did this on propose making Hayley say
ā itās not fair how my little girl never gonna know you and what you did for her dad.ā
EXCUSE YOU!! Did you forget what cami said about risking her life for you and yāall family and helping you know about Genevieve (whatever witch it was) and watching Hope for the time being while keeping you inform about her magic LIKE WHAAA!!!ā¦. then have the audacity to date her cousinš they really love keeping it in the family/friends circle I wouldnāt be surprised if Sean O'Connell was still alive and Hayley decided to jump on that train too ( no seriously cami twin brother was hot Ngl)
I JUST NOTICED SOMETHINGš
HAYLEY is the ONLY ONE but ONLYYY ONE who has NEVER compared Klaus to his fatherš„¹š„¹š„¹ bc elijah did, rebekah did, i think his other siblings too, CAMI DID! etc etcā¦. but HAYLEY NEVER DID ITš„¹š„¹š„¹š„¹
So I just started watching the show and got up to episode 10 and I can say I like it already
For me 5 x 6 when Hayley dies.
or 5 x 12 when Hayley sees hope for the last time.
5 x 11 when Elijah gets flashbacks.
3 x 22 when the Mikaelsons are put down.
4 x 13 when the Mikaelsons leave each other and Elijah forgets
5 x 8 when Elijah gets his memories back.
5 x 13 when Elijah and Klaus die. and the scene Where Hayley watches over hope had me sobbing on the floor at 8.
So pretty much all of season 5 because of Hayleyās death and stuff. I hate Julie peck so freaking much she also had the audacity to blame it on trumps election in 2016š (I donāt support trump or any of the other candidates I donāt get into politics)
In this scene Elijah says Tristan found Aya and saved her after Mikelās attack but how? Didnāt Elijah compel Tristian, Lucien, and Auaroa to think they were the them and to run?
Is Hayley stronger than the Strix vampires because she descends from the first Alpha, the Hollow's mother, or because the Labonair ritual always makes them stronger than the entire pack of evolved werewolves after the ritual alters their physical strength? I still have this doubt because Hayley is not an original hybrid to have greater strength than elder vampires from the Strix.
So Iāve heard this song a couple times throughout the vampire diaries and the originals. Iāve finally reached the last episode of the originals and am hearing it again and it sounds so beautiful, but I literally cannot find it anywhere cuz itās just instrumental. It comes on season 5 episode 13 around 31:00-33:00. Pls help š
Edit: found it! Itās All for One - Michael Suby
I hate how they made her SOOO weak in that show it made me mad tbh because in to she was just so powerful like so powerful then they just made her any other witch
What are your thoughts about that?
And I donāt mean why doesnāt Klaus immediately track her down and kill her. I mean like how did she even survive that ritual. Because as is the case when a coven of witches are channelling each other, what happens to one happens to all. Heck we see this in the previous episode where Davina knocks out the sisters by knocking herself out. And in this episode after Freya frees Elijah from the Chambre de Chasse, he feeds on one of the witches to death and snaps the neck of another. How is Davina not affected by this?
Bro whenever Elijahās talking heās always squinting every few seconds and it bothers me so muchhh lmao has anyone else noticed this
What if Lucien had drunk all of the serum?
We saw that Vincent and the Ancestors in creating the Updated Original Vampire Spell made enough for two doses, where Lucien took one and left one for Aurora.
My question is: What if Lucien had taken both doses? Would he be more powerful or would the results be the same?
There are other times when similar situations have occurred; when Esther transforms her children, she makes a dose for each of them. What if only one took it all? What about when Silas shared immortality with Amara, what if he had taken it all for himself? Is there any evidence that the results would have been different?
what i mean is If the writers wanted to convey that Klaus was only jealous because of Hope, they should have shown him watching Jackson and Hayley with Hope during a cute moment, like a happy family. Not just watching them kiss. It would make more sense if it was Elijah who watched them kissing and felt jealous.
I'm not saying there was something between them, but the writers gave us clues that made it seem like Klaus wasnāt just jealous because of Hope. The way the scene was set up doesnāt make the idea unhinged-fetched.
Showing Klaus jealous watching Hayley and Jackson kiss gave a different implication, rather than just focusing on his longing for Hope or feeling left out of a family moment. It created room for viewers to interpret his jealousy as possibly being about Hayley herself, not just Hope.
This post is a continuation of that one https://www.reddit.com/r/TheOriginals/s/Ch6jQiufpT
Ok so Michael morbius turned into a vampire by mixing human dna and bat dna in a serum and injecting it into himself gaining the typical powers of a vampire but heās extremely powerful and inhumanly fast especially after feeding on real blood seen to be able to attack on a large building level.
While the originals have shown incredible feats in strength and speed how would Klaus the original vampire, Elijah his brother, kol, Finn and Rebekah fair against Michael who has shown higher level feats of strength like smashing someone through multiple pairs of concrete scaling to large building level of attack potency and can seemingly teleport with incredible speeds.
Can he be stoped by Klaus and the rest of his family or can Michael prove to be a greater threat than even mikael? Thoughts?
i got bored and wanted to read some stories and theories so i have a scenario for tvdu fans (legacies not included because gods would make it no fun)
okay , so lets say you just finished binging tvd and TO and you understand the show completely , the timeline and everything , now letās say with all of your knowledge one day you wake up in the tvdu , and you have a year to become the most powerful supernatural in the world , you can wake up as a werewolf , witch or vampire , you know all about how to become an original or an enhanced/upgraded original or a heretic , and you have an entire year in the tvdu to become the most powerful supernatural in the world whatās the first you do when you wake up , and what are the steps you would be take to become most powerful ??
From what I remember, there are two *classes* that are mentioned in the show: Harvest and Elders.
But Elders are witches who command a certain clan, right? Is there something before Elder? Davina for example, I believe that after a certain point she stopped being a Harvest and, because she's not that old yet, she's not called an Elder. What's the middle ground between Harvest and Elder?
