Johnny Atkins has been portrayed as a constantly left back loser, even his girlfriend graduated, but I was wondering if he ever graduated in season 9 or 10.
I don't remember much about season 10 outside of Murray dying and Erica giving birth, but I do remember he worked at the diner Adam worked at and he worked at William Penn as a janitor on Schooled; but did Johnny graduate when Adam did too?
The first couple of seasons she is treated as though she is really popular. It's shown she goes to parties and has all these other popular friends. And then they expect us to believe that she's still popular when all she does is hang out with Geoff and interact with Barry and the JTP and Lainey. The same could be said about Lainey but only with Barry.
It's the 80s that would have been social suicide back then.
I've watched episodes of the show here and there when it was airing on television (and when tv was still a thing lol) but now that I've picked it up to binge on Prime, it feels like after season 3 it just turned into a regular old sitcom. The episodes have a predictable pattern and it feels less and less real. I get it may have been hard to get 10 seasons worth of content from Adam's real life, but now it's just turned into another sitcom.
Does anyone know why as the series progresses that we start seeing less and less of Adam's friends? Muscles is barely in it, Dave Kim makes the most appearances, Chad lives across the street but is apparently permanently grounded and not allowed to leave the house. There are more like Dave Sirota but the point is still the same. They are seen less and less.
With all the things we can point out that are wrong with the show: dumb dialogue, terrible characters, numerous inconsistances, etc.; despite it all, what is everyone favorite seasons?
Personally I like 4, 5, and 6, or as I call them "the Jackie years"
They have an entire episode about pops, and mention him several more times through the rest of the series, but for Murray, one of the main characters it's just, "he died". And they only mention him a couple more times. I understand the Jeff garland stuff, but to disrespect a character people had enjoyed for that many years is just sad.
RIP George Segal
I know the show isn't on anymore, but I always enjoyed coming on here and discussing the show or what was going to happen when it was still on the air. And even discussing things we noticed on rewatches.
I need help finding an episode. It's the one where Beverly and Murray are looking at the open house next door
Does anyone know the brand or name or any info about this coat? I've tried searching for it using various methods. I took a this screenshot and tried Google lens but no luck. I appreciate any help.
Someone please help me find this I’ve spent like an hour scowering episode synopsises but for the life of my I can’t find one. Am I making this up??? I swear I remember this episode like vividly.
As I am rewatching this show I noticed even though I already knew it. He was the glue, the heartbeat and soul of the show!! It just wasn't the same without him.
Are there any books that have the same vibe/feel of the show
I love the fact that it is in the 80s and they did a great job representing it. Even had a few fun Easter eggs in it from the real jenkintown, but that's for true fans. 😉
The hell is this dialogue and humor and the characters, this main character guy SUCKS
something about the main guy working at an ice cream store to try to relate to his friends or some BS?
Idk, turned it off the following commercial break lol😋
no need to really reply to this or think much of this post of mine lol
edit: what do you MEAN it got 10 seasons!?😭
I think the goldbergs is hilarious at showing mental health issues! Beverley has serious narcissistic traits and it’s so comical and refreshing to see similar situations actually turn out healthy conclusions for the individuals lives.
I think we all know the episode in season 3 when Adam is trying to convince Murray to let him go to space camp because he it was "his dream" but Murray thought it was too expensive.
And yet, in the season premiere of season 2, Adam says that the reason he didn't see Dana all summer was because he went to space camp; which goes to show that the writers just couldn't keep up with some of the storylines they've done as the show went on and unknowingly repeating themselves.
It’s definitely an earlier season because the actor for Adam’s voice hadn’t dropped yet. It’s where Adam is about to beat Zelda One on the NES, goes to get the camcorder to film the ending then Barry walks in and beats it instead. I can’t find anything in Imdb and it’s gonna bother me forever
There are several references to the family in the old country. I'm curious, did either of Adam's grandfather's come from Europe, and was it before or after the War?
Season 6, Episode 4
I can’t handle how Beverly wrote the guilt letters. At the end of the episode the real Bev had one of the real letters Adam saved from his childhood. The amount of manipulation and control over her boys emotions are honestly heartbreaking. I think I’d have a poor relationship with my mom if she pulled some of the stuff that Bev did.
Most of the episodes have at least have one conflict that ends up getting “resolved”. Most likely to have a happy ending and have some sort of lesson to go with the episode. I know it’s just a TV show but I do wonder if the Goldbergs actually resolved some of the issues we’ve seen throughout the show.
