Both these songs have an element that I don’t really hear in many other songs. I can’t exactly place my finger on it but they’re unique in the sense that even though it’s g-funk or hip-hop, you’ve got a wide diversity of soundtracks. Good ones. Like the artists stuck with a soundtrack to the end because they felt it could. I like when a song is sampled, like some of Lupe Fiascos songs.
I’m also generally into Phonk. Obviously it’s going to have soundtracks of the like. Rapping over a “strange” soundtrack intrigues me. But it’s gotta fit how the artist spits bars lol
What should i listen to 😭
I'm looking for more music that feels like Loyle Carner & Jordan Rakei's Ottolenghi.
Storytelling Positive message Self discovery Growth, progress Singalong worthy Any genre welcome if the vibe is there
Thanks in advance!
I'm specifically talking about music similar to the Spring and Nothing Happens albums.
….. I’m a big fan of tv shows or movies set back in time or a twist back in futuristic time. For example I’ve watched - Fallout, Wandavision, Yellowjackets, why women kill (some of ir atleast haha) any other recommendations and styles similar in other tv shows and movies that anyone has?
Even time periods ?
I love the way this song sounds! It's so fun but the rest of Wang Chung's music is not like this. Does anybody have songs that have this odd sound to it? It kind of reminds me of Fiona Apple but with a different instrumental which is what I love about it. Please lmk!
Any help loved, thank you!!!
hi! I really like the album City Club by The Growlers, more specifically the songs City Club and Dope on a Rope due to the upbeat instrumentals at the end of both! I love fun songs with catchy tunes in their instrumentals, bonus points for a good bassline. Looking for songs that fall into the alternative/indie rock genre. thanks!! :D
I've also watched Memento, Everything Everywhere All At Once, The Lobster, The Lighthouse, Midsommar, Donnie Darko. Just to give you an idea.
Any genre is fine with me. They can be animated or live action. They can be from anywhere around the world.
I'm not okay with rape scenes. If it's fade to black/cutscene, that's fine.
Can be documentaries, mockumentaries. Can be so bad they're good, too.
TV Show suggestions are fine as well.
It's like ethereal, melodic, like a use of synths? Sorry I don't know much about it, I am just trying to explain. I can't find these type of songs that just appear in a scene of a character having a deep feeling and it's like...idk
So i guess dark, synth heavy rock songs with political themes
On the lookout for tracks/vocalists/groups like this ->

Most soul groups have a few ballads like this, but good ones can be hard to find. Have already dug through most bigger names (Diana Ross, The Whispers, Isley Bros, etc.) so I'm definitely hoping to find more obscure artists! Thanks y'all.
*Phylis Hyman is also a good example.
Hey! Sharing songs is my one of my favorite activities doing with my friends. I really don't know if it's gonna work here with people I don't know before; however, I don't think it'll be bad anyway. So, I say my type and genre and tell your stuff, then let's build our friendship on that. I listen to rock, darkwave, classic, soft metal( I don't think it's a genre lol)etc. I don't restrict myself much. but it will be better to recommend unpopular songs. I can't wait😻
So funky! Great chords. Great texture.
Hi so Beetlejuice has been my favourite for a while and I'm looking for similar things to watch. I have already watched most of Tim Burton's other films, Heathers and Girl interrupted (for things i guess would get recommended).
I like films that are darker and have dark humour like Tim Burton's other movies that usually have this dark gothic aesthetic, or Heathers which i also like that also has Winona Ryder as the main character and is talking about darker subjects. (To be clear it doesn't have to be with Winona Ryder that was an example)
Thank you in advance
Specifically, I found the buildup to the moment when he breaks back into the prison and asks the manager "Why did you imprison me, you fucktard?" hilarious. I'm in search of movies that have not necessarily a similar plot, but the same type of humor.
I really like these two songs by a very obscure band called "The Aquarian Age" from the late 60's. I find them very pleasant to listen to and am looking for other songs like them, with a similar rhythm and bassline.
"Easy To Be Hard" "When You Were Here"
These are the kind of songs that would work wonders at home, but would make most people sleepy on the road (well, except for individuals like me).
If you have any suggestions, please provide a link to them in the comments.
I'm looking for more somewhat dark or heavier toned movies that make me think about them a lot. Looking for an experience that makes me introspective for a but afterwards. Good editing, visuals and music would be awesome too.
Idk how to explain it but there is something these songs have in common
Hi y’all! I don’t know if it’s the right place but if it’s not I’m sorry! Anyway I can’t stand my roommate because he doesn’t clean the damn apartment so instead of shouting at his door, I’m listening to Taylor Swift’s “Bad blood”. Any recommendations? Which song would you listen to instead of yelling at your roommate?
looking for films that have the same vibes as tune in for love… romantic but also somber and gentle. thank you 😊
I’m searching for similar songs. Chosic identified the genre as pixie but the songs don’t sound similar at all.
What I like the most is that happy-sad beat/vibe of the song. (Most pixie songs were either too sad or too “happy”)
Can someone recommend similar songs or a genre that sounds similar.
Cheers
By “short” I of course mean the number of tracks on said album. JOF only has seven tracks, but almost all of them are great. And DSOTM has 10 and is great front to back.
So any albums from rock, classic rock, prog rock, metal, grunge, etc are what I’m looking for.
