Walt was the best side character in the series
im trying to find my girlfriends favorite episode. it is the one where dylan is talking about sex to the doctor and the doctor starts talking about the gender of the baby but dylan was talking about actual sex.
i know that’s a very broad question probably really hard to find but i would really appreciate the help ! it’s just a funny joke we both really like
Hoping someone here can explain this joke to me:
Gloria: [aside to camera] Joe learned to throw by copying Jay, but Jay throws all crazy because of his bad shoulder.
[flashback:]
Jay: Like this, buddy. [throws ball] Son of a..!
Joe: [throws] Son of a!
[back:]
Gloria: It's the same reason Joe whistles "Sentimental Journey" when he pees.
S8 E13 3:20
For me it’s more the responses to posts. When someone calls out small things/nitpicks, the replies are always “it’s a sitcom don’t overthink it”. WE KNOW THAT we just want a safe space to tear it apart lmao. On the Gilmore girls sub we discuss plot holes and how realistic something is even though we know it’s a show
I also recognise him from somewhere and i was wondering if he appears in a different season or something like that, or maybe i just saw him somewhere else and i just cant put my finger on where
Hi!! new to this subreddit and also new to the show, I just started watching it this year and I've already had like 4 rewatches, I feel I should mention that I come from a 3rd world country and despite being fluent in English there's still some jokes i didn't get the first time but later got upon rewatching the show and some jokes i still don't get cuz the things they reference sometimes are from their culture etc like in the valentine's day episode in season 4 episode 15 where Mitchell and cam discover that Mitchell stole their neighbors Christmas decorations and looks at pictures of it and says something along the lines of "well I guess that's vixen" . Are there any jokes on the show that you missed and still don't get or just got them now and can't believe you missed them?
OMG i was rewatching the first seasons, and Manny is so adorable!!!
I used to defend Manny's personality in the late seasons with my life, but like, compared to the first seasons, he is such a douche!! He ended up horrible, weird and creepy.
I know he isn't the worst person in the world, but the writers did him dirty.
I have seen a lot of posts and polls that rank phil as a better parent than claire and I don’t understand it.
I just watched the episode connection lost, and claire has to do everything for the kids and the house while phil plays video games and is completely unaware of what his kids are doing.
If their genders were switched and claire acted like phil she would be called a terrible mother, and although I think phil is generally a good dad, there is a way lower expectation for men to be called great parents.
anyone agree?
The episode when Manny leaves for Colombia he leaves a note for Gloria. She brushes that one off too. When she feels especially close to someone who is leaving, is the one time she turns her feelings off. Because it's hurting her, not the ones she loves. She is very outspoken on other behalfs.
anyone notice how Longinus is in S2/E10 as the “oasis for men” perfume guy lol, i never noticed that before
My girlfriend and I are having a disagreement, I think that Phil‘s head is clearly edited on another person’s body during the recital when he plays piano. His head is blurry, a little out of scale and doesn’t move in coordination with the body. My gf begs to differ and thinks the actor himself is playing. Whats the communities opinion on this scene? Help me win some pocket money 😄
Trying to get my friend into the show. What episode should I start with that will get them instantly hooked?
Edit thanks for all the suggestions
I never understood the whole Pepper having a son plot. In the golf episode, he claims to have a son who is fighting in some war in another country, but in a later episode he claims to never had a kid and has no experience raising one. Are there any other major plot holes in the show?
In the Halloween episode where DeDe dies, where is Manny? I know that DeDe isn’t his grandmother but they appeared to have a close relationship in previous episodes where she takes Manny to the poetry reading and thanked him for his letters. I would’ve liked to see how Manny would’ve taken the loss in addition to the other kids.
It was just some random episode. Where they suddenly showed him sitting with his dad, and then the next second they were at his funeral. The funeral didn't even take long, just like 2 seconds.
Did I misunderstood Jay about him talking about Mitch getting engaged to a woman in his law school? This was the moment when Mitch was getting ready to fire Jay from remodelling his kitchen.
One of these four couples will are now your parents. Which one would you pick?
Does Gloria say "thigh opening" ?!?
It's the episode where Phil lies about showing the house to an old Irish woman & the yoga instructor gets kinda handsy with Claire.
I’m on my second rewatch of the show and just caught a joke from Season 10 Episode 11 that I haven’t seen anyone else point out: Jay is talking to Gloria about Manny calling him old-fashioned and says he can’t possibly be old-fashioned, after all, he bought Alex a book about successful business women. Right after, the “coffee grinder” (actually an Alexa) goes “I’m sorry, I didn’t understand that” and Jay is confused why it’s talking to him. The joke is that when he said “I got ALEX A book…” it triggered the Alexa but he didn’t realize it/mean to activate it. Just a funny moment I missed the first time through the show 😂
So i was rewatching the last seasons (9,10,11). And the Dunphy kids don't do anything without their parents approval, even though they are literal adults.Like Haley had to wait for Claires 'soft hour', to ask to go on a trip with her boss.
Luke needed his parents approval to start a bussines.
And there is so many others examples. Cant they make any decisions by themself???
As title says, we don't really have one on YouTube.
