Hello all! I recently moved back to Illinois from Indiana for work reasons (believe me I didn’t want to) applied for a FOID card.
Today I checked the status of it and it was denied because of “a statutory prohibitor”. I have no criminal background at all nothing that would flag me and a honorably discharged veteran of the army, so I have no idea why they would have rejected it.
Is there anyway to look on the website to see exactly exactly what I was disqualified for? I do not have a copy yet and knowing Illinois I don’t know if I would actually get one or not.
Thanks
First post (long-time lurker) so I apologize if I am not doing this right.
The compliant Maxim rifle that has been posted here a few times here will be on sale at 2A Sports for BF weekend.
I stopped by the shop to look at it while I was in the area and got to talking with an employee. He said that it is going to be on sale all weekend long and they run giveaways all weekend long as well. I didn't get specifics on the sale or the giveaways but that typically it is a couple of guns and there is no purchase necessary to win but you get extra entries if you do make purchases.
He kind of explained to me that they really only have 2 big sales a year, a Tent Sale, and Black Friday weekend, so those are the 2 times we could expect the rifle to be on sale.
I know others were waiting for it to go on sale, so I figured I would pass the info along. I think I will be picking up the OD green one.
Just purchased a rifle and shotgun, I waited the 72 hours, but when I went back to pick them up clerk said it’s still pending and couldn’t tell me how long it’ll be. Anyone know?
I live in a free state, so naturally I am curious.
I just purchased my first bolt action and have been wanting to do some shooting out to 600yrds. Wondering if anyone knows of any courses that go through the basics and beyond? (I live about an hour west of Chicago, but willing to drive).
Any places in the wonderful state of IL (chicago area) that will work on AK pattern rifles? Need some safety/trigger work done and dnt wanna get bit by the spring and would sleep better knowing its done by a professional. Or am i out of luck getting any type of work done on an AK for now?
Seen two conflicting posts about this, are they still tracking caliber for Ammo purchases?
Does anyone know if you have to return your FOID card when you move out of state? Also does anyone know of they accept ash?
Hello all, new member here. Located in the south suburbs, not far from the Indiana border. Have wanted to get my FOID and CCL for a while now, neighborhood has gone to shit more and more and I’ve got 3 little ones with a 4th coming soon.
I know that I’ve got to sign up for a course/training for my CCL, but I’d like to know what would be the best direction to go next.
I’ve got a friend who’s got a decent little collection of pistols that’s offered to take me to the range to test out some different types, but when I’m ready to purchase something, should I go to a store or order online? I won’t have a large budget to begin with, but given my hyper fixation tendencies, the collection will grow at a healthy rate lol.
And any recommendations on on training courses/instructors on the south side would be appreciated! As well as some recommendations on a reliable, 1000% (preferably) childproof safe for storage.
Thanks in advance!
I lost my foid and reported lost to isp. When I get my replacement do I get a id number with it? I feel like I’m going to find it somewhere in my house but I’m not sure it’s been a couple days now.
I’ve been looking to get a semi auto mossberg from a private owner I know in Ohio and was wondering what steps would need to be taken to transfer ownership from him to me after purchase? I’ve looked online and had trouble finding any clear answers so I’ve come here for some answers. Thanks y’all.
Hey everyone, just moved to downtown LaGrange. Both Range USA (Hodgkins) and Midwest Guns & Pistol Range (Lyons) are about the same distance from me. Never been, curious if anyone had thoughts/recommendations about either of those? Formerly went to Range USA Villa Park. Thanks in advance for any feedback!
This waiting is bs.
I'm curious if there's an increase in numbers being sent to review. I know this is a super small sample size, but we've had three new post this week.
Again, I know that means, next to nothing. But it's weird.
Anyone anecdotal evidence pro or con.
Anyone know a good barrel cutting service thats local or semi local? (South Suburbs)
I have an RPK that I'm debating chopping from 23" to 16".
So I'll need a chop, crown, and an FSB pressed and pinned.
Thanks ahead of time!
Hey all, trying to get into Twitter. Anyone know of good twitter accounts for guns? Mostly revolving around IL / federal guns laws and politics. Maybe twitter isn’t the best place to keep up with that kind of stuff? Idk.
With the injunction in place anyone know of any online retailer shipping mags?
