Trying to find friends to go practice handgun drills, and what not every couple weeks. I'm currently training at 2 different ranges on the NW side of SA. If you have a little land, I'll happily pitch in for targets and ammo haha.
Hi, need to transfer a gun to california. Someone quoted me $1500. Im a california resident in town and need a family member to send me a gun. I have bought a gun out of state before (PSA) and they didnt charge me when they shipped however they were a gun store. This will be an intra-familial or just a person to person shipped to a california gun store. in case your are wondering, they charge about 70 dollars for FFL fee in california. sucks.
Does any know of a company that does good titanium nitride work?
Are there any gunsmiths in the San Antonio area who have installed the Cajun Gun Works pro kit in a CZ P-01? This will be my carry gun, so I would prefer a professional install. I’ll do it myself on my Shadow 2. I’m just trying to avoid the long lead time at Cajun.
Thanks,
Bryan
Hey forst off, thank you everybody for helping find a good range over at A Place to Shoot! Now for my next question:
My bullets are going down and to the left of where my sight is directed at. I'll try to post a pic.
What can I do to gain better control over the direction of the bullet? I have been practicing a ton of dry-fires but they dont really help deal with the recoil.
Is it the recoil that is causing the down-and-to-the-left trajectory? Or am I doing something else that is causing this?
Any advice is appreciated. Like I might have mentioned before (maybe I havent), My entire family was nearly murdered on 410 one night in February of this year by some guy with an anger problem and road rage. I also had my vehicle robbed from me this past month.
Needless to say, I now fear for my family's saftey and want to ensure that I am prepared and know what I am doing if I ever am caught in such a terrible situation again. And I find that shooting at the range is kind of cathartic and I would love to be pretty decent at it
Thanks everybody!
I have noticed that most shooting ranges in San Antonio are at least $40-$50 for a visit. This includes targets, vision/hearing protection, and lane fees among other things.
I would love to hear from some locals in and around San Antonio if there are any places to practice shooting for free or at most $25 for everything I need for one hour of shooting time.
Thank you!
[A moderator approved me posting this message] Hello! My name is Logan Smith, I’m a Clinical Psychology Ph.D. student at Oklahoma State University. I’m doing research into how firearm owners prefer to learn about suicide prevention, and I could use your help.
We want to learn what firearm owners think about suicide prevention messages, and who they want to hear those messages from. Many of the current efforts to teach firearm owners about suicide prevention – such as safe storage of your firearm, or recognizing the warning signs of a suicidal crisis – have not been successful. It is believed that this might be due to firearm owners preferring to learn about suicide prevention from different people than the ones reaching out to them.
That’s why it’s important to hear from real firearm owners, like you.
The research that I am doing is an important step in understanding why firearm owners might prefer certain messengers over others. While there is no direct compensation for participating in this study, your participation would provide valuable data for our study. Anyone who currently is, or ever was, a firearm owner is welcome to participate in this project.
All of your answers are kept completely anonymous; we won’t ask any identifying information about you, or keep a list of who responded. We will not be attaching your answers to your personal identity in any way. This research has been approved by the Institutional Review Board at Oklahoma State University. The study should take about 20-30 minutes to complete; for some people, it can take longer, and for others it can be shorter.
If you’re interested in participating, have questions about eligibility, or would like to know more, please send me a direct message on here or an email at logan.smith12@okstate.edu.

Going to the New Braunfels Premier gun show tomorrow 3/19/22. Looking to stop in at a few local/independent gun shops between northwest San Antonio and New Braunfels while Im down there to browse and see what I haven't seen. I'm very familiar with the SA proper shops like Drury's, Nagels, Adelbridge, etc but I'm less familiar with those between NW San Antonio and New Braunfels. Anyone got any recommendations? I've already got Bracken Guns and McQueeny Gun Club on my itinerary. Any others worth seeing?
Does anyone know of any Desert tech dealers or any shop that has an SRSA2 in stock?
I'd love to get behind one and see if I like it.
Does anyone know if any dealers in town carry Tavor rifles? Looking for an x95
Heading to SATX next February from Arizona and am looking for a place to be able to shoot without restrictions - a couple buddies and I drive out to the canyons (public land) in Arizona to shoot, run drills, reloads, transition etc. I am looking for a place to shoot with that same ability.
I understand that about 95% of the land in Texas is privately owned... any awesome Texas property owners on here?? Looking max 1 hour max from Converse/San Antonio Downtown.
Want to try some competitive shooting. I know there are still challenge matches going on but the information is all over the place that in finding and there seems to be more than one "league" around. Where would I find all the info I needed and is there a place I can practice something like this? I'd gladly pay, even to use someone's private range. It seems the bullet hole and Blackhawk are where everything happens, just need a little more direction.
Best ffl transfer in San Antonio
So I've been driving around town before work and have been getting pretty lucky with ammo in the last few months.
Academy on 151, 1604 west and the one off 37 south constantly have ammo MWF, but you have to be there an hour before it opens. Bass pro I have more luck on mondays than other days. Of course adlebridge, wss, ammo and cbd and a few other stores have ammo but its always expensive.
Saxet gun show on meadowleaf is on the first weekend of the month

Hey SanAntonioGuns!
As an avid gun owner myself, I know that for each and every one of us, safety is the number one rule for keeping ourselves and those around us safe is focusing on safety when it comes to our firearms.
With the huge upswing in the number of gun owners in our communities, especially new owners who are purchasing guns to protect their homes and families, we realized that an emphasis needed to be put on creating safety classes that focus on teaching gun safety to not only these new owners, but their families as well!
Our name is SAFER Families Firearms Academy, and we offer a variety of beginner-focused classes, including classes designed for families with kids as young as ten years old to attend together. We also hold classes for adults only, women's only classes, and classes that focus on home defense and emergency preparation (yes, for families too!). We are also about to put a variety of LTC classes on the schedule, and will soon be adding a class for families where one or both parents are LTC holders (or looking to obtain their LTC), that will focus on teaching kids how to react in the event their parent ever has to draw their weapon.
We're fully insured, USCCA certified instructors, who operate our classes out of a high tech meeting space in west Austin, and shoot at the beautiful Copperhead Creek Shooting Club in Marble Falls.
As long time gun owners and educators, we're incredibly excited to be able to bring more people, especially the younger generation, into our community with a big emphasis on safety.
Please visit our website to check out all of the classes we have to offer! www.SaferFamiliesFA.com
Ps: this is a fresh reddit account, but I promise we're not spam! We just like to protect our personal accounts. Yall know how it is :)
