Always assume all guns are loaded.
Never let the muzzle aim at anything you are not willing to destroy.
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target.
Be sure of your target and what is beyond it.

I am currently on the fence between two options and it's driving me crazy.
In the red corner, my long time goal , the CZ-600 alpha
In the blue corner, a recent fascination of mine, the Ruger American Gen II
They are approximately the same price. After much research, I understand that the CZ is objectively a higher quality rifle.
However, the ruger is not a bad rifle either! I like rugers very much. The ruger has the advantage of being very nice, comes with a fluted barrel and a muzzle break. Very cool.
I'm on the fence here. Anybody have a recommendation? I'm also on the fence between getting these in .223 or .308
.223 pros : -Cheaper -more pleasant to shoot frequently -barrel gets less hot -barrel life is longer -similar ballistics up to 400 yards -single ammo compatible with multiple rifles -let's me shoot .223 while waiting for october
.308 pros: -new caliber, grows collection -can be used for hunting -considerably longer range

This gentleman interviews second world war veterans and brings his M1 Garand and has them sign it. He has over 500 signatures and archived stories from veterans. It's absolutely incredible and I wish something like this would happen in Canada before it's too late.
Would this be something doable in Canada? with a Lee Enfield or would there be extreme backlash with our current gun laws and political hellscape?
Purely hypothetical question btw
Anyone purchased the Derya TM22 Cadet ?
Looking to get a rifle for the wife to go plinking with . She doesn't need the mil spec look of the regular TM22.
Thanks
Decided to treat myself to a new toy for my birthday. Looking forward to trying it out this weekend!
CVA cascade in a 7PRC with a vortex diamond tactical 4-16x44
Henry model X in a 3030 with chisel machining stock and RPP hand guard and vortex 3x32 red dot
Savage 10T in a 6.5 creedmore that will be equipped with a DNT 7-35x56.
I have access to a 200 yard 500 yard and 1500 yard range.
After handling Lee Enfield's for many moons, I finally snagged a Plain Jane No4 MkII* bayonet and carrier during a recent gunshow.
Fits my personal No4 MkI great 👌
So I’ve been planning a camping trip to Montana for a while now, I’m fairly experienced in camping but I’d feel much more comfortable bringing my shotgun with me, I understand that with the proper forms and some luck you can be approved to bring in your firearm, but I’m curious if camping is considered a “appropriate” reason
I’m new to shooting and absolutely love it, but I currently only have a .22 and a No.4 Mk1 Lee Enfield. Easily my favourite rifle historically speaking (British empire simp), but when I’m shooting it I can’t help but punch myself in the mouth every shot. Either I can get a good head placement and an accurate controlled shot or I have to pull my head back which makes it difficult to get a good sight picture and is a little uncomfortable.
A quick google search has told me it’s a length of pull problem and I should look into extending my rifle’s stock a bit. Should I get a recoil pad or are there other ways of extending length of pull on such an old rifle?
Seems cheap for a non .22 lever action. Are these any good?
Rem700 223 only shot about 40 rounds threw it and haven't fired it in about 2 years.
So ive looked up and down, and i cant find out if the SRV2 Grizzly is banned or not, its not specifically named anywhere in the list, but some gun stores have it pulled as prohibited while others still have em openly for sale and on the shelf. so if you take one of these to the range are you gonna get arrested or not?
Hey Guys
New PAL holder here and I went through much of storage and transportation laws regarding the Non-Restricted firearms. As the title says, my question is regarding Brand New NR firearm when bought from the Store.
Do we carry it as-is in the original packing home?
OR
You suggest opening the package up and transport the firearm as per the Non-Restricted Laws.
Safest approach/way to carry home a New NR firearm?
Trijicon 1-8 for those curious
Tl;DR - Basically the title. What in your opinion is the "best" sks, and where would you go to find one?
CONTEXT - I know very little about guns, but I'm learning. I'm 45 years old, but I didn't grow up around them at all. Got into shooting about two years ago when injuries pushed me to find new hobbies, of course had no idea what I was doing, so I did a little reading (not here obviously) and would up with a bolt action stainless Tikka in 6.5 Creedmoor for a rifle. Great rifle, fun to shoot, but I really wish I bought something with cheaper ammo! So I figure I'll kill two birds with one stone (1.cheaper ammo, and 2. Fulfill my obligation as a Canadian gun owner) and get an SKS.
I have played guitar for about 30 years so I'm no stranger to costly hardware, and would like to get the best SKS for myself that is generally awesome and good for everyday use. My main guitar is a well loved and cared for 70s Les Paul which, aside from a few normal signs of wear, probably only plays better than when it was new for how broken in it is. Basically, I'm looking for the SKS counterpart to that.
So far I'm thinking an old tula, matching numbers, but I'm not certain because, well, I'm just learning! So please, what is your thoughts on a "holy grail" sks? Hopefully there's a few different answers so I can check them all and learn some things. Where would you suggest to find one? Gun post? Local dealer? And what learning resources would you suggest for someone in my position?
Thanks in advance.
Has anyone ordered from go big tactical recently? They have optics that I want to try out
I was curious what firearms you guys would use in Three Gun if we could have all our Firearms back.
Also I want to get into competitive shooting once things chill out and wondering if people actually use revolvers in competitive or not anymore!!
Feel free to share all the specs you wish you Could have haha. We are all dreaming here 🤠💀
Hi people!
I'm on a market for a lever action for recreational/range use primarely. Potentially for some small game hunt. Henry X in .357 was my main option. I had a chance to hold it in hands at Cabela's and overall liked it. The guy in the store was very helpfull and since I didn't have my final desision yet, he mentioned to think about other caliber, maybe 30-30.
The main issue with the 357 - potential availability in future - when I was there (yesterday) Cabela's had non of it on a shelve. They had some 38mag though. Second - it's not quite a hunting caliber (with this one I'm more ok).
So the main concern I guess is - will .357 remain available? In a case of zombie apocalypse (or another covid) - will it be possible to buy the ammo?
Or should I switch to 30-30? Which is just slightly more expensive, but more accurate and versatile; and according to that guy is much more common and available - and the shelf was proving that.
Please help to chose. Thanks!
UPD.
So the .357 it is! I absolutel love it, the way it feels and looks. Now my Octagon has a Big Boy brother!
I might have a small question about the trigger (it is a little wobble when rested), I'll post a video in another thread probably.
THANKS A LOT to everybody!
Hoping to get to the range soon.
Hey folks, I’m looking into buying a Russian Sks from GunPost. I’ve never bought a used firearm before. I’d appreciate any pointers to consider before buying a firearm online. As well as things to look on the actual firearm to see if it functions good.
Thanks!
Anybody place an order or have experience with bulkammocanada.com ? Doesn't look legit. No location/address/phone # and seems sketchy. However, they do have a Sulun Arms SR-410 in stock which I've been trying to find for awhile so just throwing this out there. Any input on this site or where to get an SR-410 is appreciated.
I'm confused because I found two places where I can check and they show inconsistent status info:
Individual web services shows the status is Processed and Issued, while myCFP shows Submitted(it was processed last week), and the application numbers (although the personal information are the same) they show are different too. Very confusing!
Has anyone else been in a similar situation before? Which one did you trust?
Stop talking tough guy nonsense when it comes to the subject of confiscation. We are not alone in this subreddit. I hate what's happening as much as you and cannot wait for a new government. Don't wanna comply? Awesome. I'm right there with ya but theres non violent ways to do this. Don't say dumb shit like the following (examples from a recent thread)
"I will defend myself"
"I will be waiting with my sks and a fixed bayonet on my porch"
And every clown and his dog with "come take them"
We have seen in the past the poly watches this sub and we know police dabble on this sub here and there. All it's going to take is a bored CTV employee or whoever else to read this shit and spin it (even though it doesn't directly cite violence) as calls for violence. The headline would be like "Online calls for violence against police grows after video surfaces of calls for gun confiscation"
We know the news doesn't have to be factual or trustworthy to create a problem. Entire news articles have been formed from subreddit screenshots before.
Don't be stupid. Keep your mouths shut. Do what you want in your own home but don't open your oxygen thieving facehole and smear the rest of us with the same shitty brush.
