Hi, i’ve been searching info about the model of this pistol but couldn’t get any, can someone help me identifying it?
I live in a rough city and lately my family has gotten targeted by some sorta dangerous people. They live in the neighborhood and are always watching us. I usually carry a knife and my wife carries mace but I don’t know if it’s enough. The police don’t do shit because there has to be actual harm done before they’ll let us file a restraining order. I was looking at some m1911’s but they can be pretty pricey and I don’t know what caliber I should get. 9mm seems the most common but idk if it’ll stop a bunch of meth heads. Any insight on a decent looking gun that has some stopping power if we I ever needed to us it that’s under the $600 price range?
As for practice my firing range offers rentals so I can start with something smaller there for practice until I can handle the recoil of a more powerful caliber. Most shooting practice I have is hunting rifles and they was usually on a stand cause I used to hunt with my dad as a kid.
Update: thanks for the suggestions imma go with the Glock 19. Not exactly the model I like but it’s not one of those guns where the handle is significantly larger than the barrel and everyone saying it’s reliable. Now I just need to apply for a pistol permit in my state and go from there
Hi there,
I'm on the lookout for my second gun. At the moment, I've got a Shadow 2, which I use for IPSC training and some precision shooting. I use the Shadow 2 without optics.
I'm now looking for a lighter, more convenient gun. I have small hands and the Shadow 2 is a bit too big for me. The main reason I'm looking for a new handgun is so I can do some target practice with friends at the shooting range at the weekends. I don't intend to compete or do a lot of precision shooting. I'm just going to build up some fun courses and have a good time.
I'm thinking of buying a polymer handgun with a compensator and my Holosun 407C on it.
I've done a lot of reading, but the more I read, the less I know what I should buy. I've decided that a compensator is a must because I want to keep the recoil as low as possible with the polymere one.
In terms of price, I'm looking for something in the mid-range, not the cheapest quality but also not like my Shadow 2.
I live in the EU, which might be helpful. Does anyone have any recommendations for me?
BR
PS: Cool looking is also a plus :P
Lok brass grips, Apex forward set trigger kit, Romeo x pro enclosed, DPM spring, SF x300 turbo.
I am just getting back into shooting, and new to handguns. I have been thinking about concealed carry and looking at holsters. The trouble is I am not as fit as I used to be.
I have seen elastic IWB appendix holsters but I have heard kydex recommended.
I’m hoping others have experience and insight. Buying 3 or 4 holsters that don’t work would be a significant financial set back for me.
Thinking to dip my toe into the 1911 world and looking at the Tisas 1911 Duty DS or something like a LFA apollo 11.
Or switch gears completely to a Canik TTI combat.
It's more of a question of what should I do first in the 800-1000 range. I really want something like a staccato but obviously that's 2x the price.
Thoughts on the options? Are they junk?
I’m trying to improve before taking the CHL course. I started with a Glock 43x but somehow couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn with it no matter how much I practiced. I then picked up a 48 and immediately saw improvements. These shots were with the 48, 2 magazines into each target. Any advice or tips or further clean up the groupings?
Excuse my ignorance, im really just asking to entertain the idea and get some opinions while I do my own research.
a dream of mine had always been to apply my skills of building race cars to making a practical vintage touring car I can take long road trips in, "touring" the United States. this would involve a lot of solo camping, something I already do often, but also, driving old cars around has gotten me into some interesting positions with crackheads and shady characters over the years. now that i'm close to making that road trip, im starting to wonder if I should keep a firearm in the car. I would probably fabricate a holster under the seat, where it would remain most of the time.
my question is, how do some experienced gun owners feel about going over state lines with a handgun? I would probably have to get a concealed carry permit from what I understand, or at least it would be a good idea. do you think it would be worth it? i have been all over the southwest, where i'll mainly be road-tripping, and i dont think im being dramatic when i say there may be a reason to carry, especially when driving an expensive car.
honestly just looking for some opinions and would appreciate any insight on owning your first handgun. of course I know there are classes and several steps involved, which would educate me more on this, but like I said im just looking for some insights. thanks everyone.
Give me four recommendations
One HD gun, one range toy, one compact carry gun, and one subcompact/micro carry gun
Let’s keep the budget under $1k per gun
Hi all,
Looking for my next handgun and would like to grab a full size as I currently use the SF Hellcat as my edc. I really like the feel of the vp9 series but, for obvious reasons the Glock is also right there next to it. Any advice is appreciated. Seems right now the only difference would be less than $100 (vp9L being more expensive)
Edit: the Glock would be the MOS as I am planning to put a sight on it as well as a tac laser/light on either firearm I purchase
Like the title says, I bought my first ever gun this week, a Taurus PT845. Bought second hand from my boss, who takes very good care of his firearms. What are somethings that I should know besides basic gun safety? Also any tips for cleaning and maintaining will be very helpful.
Hi all, I am looking to buy my first handgun. For the context: I live in Switzerland, so our prices are much higher than USA, for example: the CZ Shadow 2 would be around $900 but in Switzerland it‘s 2000 Swiss francs (US Dollar and Swiss Franc is almost 1:1 btw).
Also it is illegal to carry the gun around in Switzerland, that is why I will be using the gun only at the shooting range. I guess I should look at Full Size Guns?
Handguns under 1k would be:
Do you have any recommandations for me?
Thank you all and have a nice weekend!
I live in NC and am new to owning firearms. I bought the tx-22 for a quality plinking handgun to learn/practice with cheaper ammo. I am now looking to get my CCL and want a 9mm that's a lot more compact ( to make concealed a lot more comfortable). The TX-22's grips feel perfect in my hand so I was curious if anyone has tried the tx-22 that knows of a smaller 9mm with similar grip styles.
Does anyone have any information about how difficult is it to own a handgun in Rhode Island? Potentially moving from AZ
The one made for the 5906 has been discontinued and i cant find it on ebay at the moment
So the last two handguns I've owned and shot are the PX4 Storm F or G can't remember Beretta 9MM and a SigPro SP2009. Looking at so many guns under $300 just has me second guessing a purchase. Like am I getting alot more going after a Hellcat Pro for example? Or is the Taurus going to feel lesser than my PX4 Storm
Researching for my 1st handgun and I really like the bersa tpr9c features/price, but mags are hard to find/expensive and watched a video that made me question reliability. https://gun.deals/product/bersa-tprc-9mm-325-threaded-barrel-13-round-29998
So what other guns have these features in a similar price range that is more well regarded.
DA/SA
Decocker/saftey combo
Threaded barrel
Easy take down
10+ rounds
Thanks!
Found this in a storeage unit and don't really know what ask for it.
I currently own a Springfield Hellcat Micro OSP as my late spring-summer EDC but I’ve tend to lean for towards my Glock 19.5 mostly cause I like the way it feels in my hand.
Don’t get me wrong I do like the Hellcat but for my tiny hands it feels cramped especially with the 11+1 mag and somewhat better with the 13+1 mag, but with the 15 rnd magazine it feels a lot better. Even tho it is 9mm and easy to control the Hellcat just feels really snappy and takes me a second to get sight picture back for an accurate follow up. But as I say this I do tend to shoot the G19.5 often more cause it’s comfortably and easier to maintain sight picture for accurate follow ups.
“Why don’t you just keep the G19.5 as the all around EDC?” That’s a great question and I don’t have an answer 😂. Just wanted to keep it in the micro compact family for these hot days while I’m here in South GA.
Does anyone feel the same about the Hellcat or am I tripping? For those with the 43x how does it feel overall for yall
Gen 5 Glock 19 or CZ P10C
I have a s&w 5906 9mm and i want to put a laser on it, but theres no where to put it. It has no tactical rails. Is there any magnetic mounts? Or anything of that nature?
(Ps. I dont care what you think about me wanting a beam on my gun. Keep it to yourself because thats not what i asked you. I asked if i could, not if i should! If theres a way to do it im gonna do it!)
Edit: would 3d printing the mold for the discontinued lasergrip be illegal?
Is Mossberg 590A1 shout gun for my home security a good choice?. Earlier I was looking o get a Glock 19 gen 5 MOS, but looks like shot guns need much less training/skill compared to a Semi. Also less recoil. Budget not an issue, just wanted a reliable, EFFECTIVE and easy operable fire arm. I realize there may not be a need at all, don't expect anyone to break-in to my home, but i don't mind spending some $$$ on a good gun as a insurance. Thank you
