As the title reads what’s size should I get 1MOA-8MOA?
I was planning a pistol setup with a Glock 17 Gen 5. My original idea was to go with a Holosun 509T X2 and have the slide direct milled, but I'm afraid of the future modularity of the unique footprint. Should I go with the more common RMR footprint instead and run a Holosun 508T X2 instead, or prehaps using an RMR to 509T adapter plate? This gun would be used for range use in a Safariland ALS OWB, home defense, and maybe winter concealed carry so I feel like the difference between open and closed emitters shouldn't be a big problem. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!
TL;DR: Direct mill for a Holosun 509T footprint or the more common RMR footprint?
do-it-all build
This is for science.
My theory is the part in the red circle slides through the bottom chamber and hits some sort of lever inside the casing located where the yellow circle is. Once the lever in the yellow circle is hit it the other side of the lever hits a part inside the casing behind the green circle striking the primer. What is your theory?
I'm going in to purchase my first handgun later this week and managed to narrow my choices down to just a few models. That being said, I could use some help getting it down to 2-3 instead.
My budget is $550 and I'm 24M, 5' 10", 170lbs if that helps anything. This will mostly be used for the range (to hone my fundamentals and work on my aim) and home defense. I don't really plan to carry it on me much, but would appreciate the ability to do so in a pinch. I will probably stash it in my glove box or console when I travel. I'd like my wife to be able to comfortably hold and operate it if need be, and she has pretty small hands.
My current options are the following:
*S&W M&P 2.0 Compact/PC
*CZ P-10C
*S&W M&P Shield Plus/Carry Comp
*S&W Equalizer
*PSA Dagger Compact
*PSA Dagger Micro C-1
*Beretta APX A1 Compact
If you own or have handled any or all of these, your input would be greatly appreciated! I anticipate most votes will be for one of the top 3 options but I could use some help weighing them against each other. Thanks in advance!
Are the grips the same for the Mk9 as the k9 ?
I have a Mk9 and I’m looking for grips and there is not a lot out there I’m hoping if they are the same grips as the k9 I can widen my search
Bonus question is there any companies that make custom g10/ micarta grips for the Kahr Mk9
Inheriting this beaut from my late grandfather. It’s a beretta. He passed in 95’. He had it in the 80s for sure. So idk if it’s a 80s or earlier model. This is the only picture I have. Is this a 92sb or any help? I don’t see the emblem on the grip like I see in other models
I have a vp9 and vp9sk and want to switch to holosuns. Is that going to be an issue if I have an rmr cut on my vp9 and rmrcc cut on vp9sk?
Looking for a full size home defense option with the BEST trigger out of the box. Currently narrowed down my choices to 3 options.
Canik SFX Rival or Rival S Walther PDP Pro SD Full Size Springfield Echelon
Would love to get your guys opinions! I know a 12 gauge or a PCC would be suited better for home defense but really want to add a full size striker fired to the collection and primarily use it for home defense. Thanks!
I like both but I can’t decide. Thoughts? This will just be uses for target shooting.
The wife wants to buy me a pistol. I'm in the market for a woods gun. The FN seems more practical but the 686 is just plain cool and I don't currently own a revolver. My EDC is a Browning Hi Power if that tells you anything about my taste in firearms.
While researching YouTube gun safety videos I ran into this. I had never heard of it before and I am not really into revolvers but WOW!!! This thing sure looks cool. Not sure how good of a gun it actually is but it LOOKS neat. It also comes a in a variety of finishes. I do kind of wish it came in all black with polymer grips. Seems the top side Picatinny mounting surface is too far forward. The gun is supposed to be super accurate with little recoil due to the barrel being at the bottom of the gun instead of the top. It also takes something called "moon clips" that allow for super fast reloading (for a revolver).
Got this guy for a steep $950 two years ago, recoil sucks tho. Just cleaned it, I’m not great at cleaning guns.
My friend keeps telling me canik sucks, my top 3 are the canik tp9sf elite combat , sig sauer m18, and the fn 509. Which one should I purchase? I’ve only shot the sig and the recoil is crazy on it.
I currently carry in rotation, p365xl, m&p9 2.0, and a couple different revolvers k6s, 586L comp. I really like the looks of the p365 AXG legion and I carry my p365xl probably the most of any of my guns, but is the AXG that big of an upgrade over the XL to warrant the $1200 price tag. The other gun on my mind is a DWX compact to replace the m&p9. I am really tempted by the amazing performance and accuracy.
I am wrong to think the DWX c is a far better gain in performance and accuracy than going from the p365xl to p365 axl legion?
Have a S&W SD9 2.0 Taurus GX4 Taurus G3X
I know I posted recent but I won one of these guns and was given the other 2 Which one should I sell? Which one should I keep? The S&W plastic guide rod scares me
I’ve been looking at getting a new carry gun and these two have made my final list. Was just curious if anyone has experience with either and what their opinions were?
I recently bought myself a H&K USP9 and my wife a SIG SAUER 365XL.
My gun has a decocker. My wifes.... well... once you rack the slide how do you make it safe without a decocker?
Looking to buy my first gun here soon and after reading quite a lot, it seems most people hate the 1911 as a beginner gun. I am a pretty tall dude and a Glock doesn’t fit my hand at all so that tagged along with a shorter barrel has led me to be very inaccurate(in comparison to the 1911). I was wondering if anyone has ran into a gun better for home defense/overall defense with similar ergonomics to a 1911. I don’t care if it’s a 45 or 9mm I’m just looking for good advice since I don’t want to spend $700+ on something and regret it.
The post says it all! I'm stepping up from a Walther PDP and looking for some recommendations to try. I have medium/large hands. I prefer a metal frame and hammer-fired. I definitely want something with top plate compatibility, 4.5-5 inch barrel. Weight isn't an issue as I won't be carrying this one.
Does anyone know which ALS Safariland holster fits a USP .45 pistol?
posting this lol. Is it normal for a ruger ec9s trigger to not pull at all, basically safety mode. When its fire mode but empty of ammunition?
I’ll always hold onto and use my old Glock 17 RTF2 but after 12 years of carrying the same handgun I wanted to try something new.
Thought about the Beretta APX A-1 or the Walther PDP but ended up grabbing a new Springfield Echelon.
Kind of a spur of the moment purchase but I’m pleasantly surprised with the Echelon. Identical in size to the Glock 17 but feels better ergonomically, trigger is nicer out the box, plus I can mount a red dot on it with probably the smartest mounting system I’ve seen. It really does feel like a customized production gun in comparison.
These are on sale for buy one, get one free. I'm taking my wife shooting to teach her how to use a pistol. Are these decent for protection?
Pretty impressed with it so far.
