Might be a stupid question but where do I find NFA items for sale through non-ffls? I’m looking to get my first can at 19yo so it can’t go through a dealer but I know 18-20yos can do it private party as an individual on the form 4. I found a couple cans on odt that are non-ffls but the options are extremely limited. Will I just have to wait till I’m 21?
Hi all,
I am ready for my first pistol. I shot a bunch of pistols in the past, and firing compact guns was fun. I am trying to get something compact without breaking the bank. Adventure Outdoors has buy 100 rounds, get a free gun deal. Currently, S&W 30 Super Carry and Glock G22 Gen 4 are available at https://www.adventureoutdoors.us/Weekly-Sales.html. It sounds like buy gas, get a free car kind of a deal, so I feel like there is something fishy. What are your opinions?
Thanks in advance!
Edit: grammar
Edit 2: Decided to buy S&W Equalizer
Hello Everyone! This is a complex question with a few moving parts so I was curious if y'all could help me out.
I am a resident of Texas (20 yo and no LTC but clean record) but attending university here and want to ideally private purchase a handgun in Georgia. So with this in mind, would it be possible to private purchase and carry a handgun here?
If it's illegal to purchase but legal to own, would it be better to purchase in Texas (where I am a resident and know some sellers) and then fly with it back here?
Thanks in advance!
First post and trying not to sound redundant. So the only outdoor ranges that know of are South River near McDonough/Macon and Outdoor Bob's near Newnan, that I still need to try out. I haven't tried recording at SR as I am starting video footage this year. I am mainly looking for a range where I can setup a camera and record footage, does that exist anywhere?
Thanks for the help and time
Hi all, I've got a nothing-special ATI commander with some quirks i'd like to get addressed (doesnt cycle or eject super reliably, doesnt reliably lock back on an empty mag, 3 different new Wilson mags tried).
I'm not looking to turn an El cheapo into a masterpiece, but I'd like to at least be able to trust it... make me feel better about the shitty trade I did for it. The smith at Ga firing line didn't seem all that interested in tinkering with it when I took it in a couple years ago... looking for someone who can make it a bit more reliable, maybe polish the turd up a bit. I know i could get a new Tisas for probably what this project will run.
Willing to travel, say, 50 miles from kennesaw, but not a whole lot further. Who would y'all recommend?
Does anyone know any good places to go or learn how to shoot in NWGA, preferably close to Dalton? Much appreciated.
Everywhere online says about 2000$ hoping praying wishing you guys know/seen where it’s around the 1300$ range. or is it a pipe dream
I live in NE GA (Athens area) and I’m looking for somewhere to do some casual shooting. Recently sold my property and don’t have anywhere to test any of my builds now. Any suggestions help!
With full auto ak47s being extremely expensive does anyone know if it would be possible to get a tax stamp and buy a full auto conversation kit to turn my existing ak to full auto? I mean I guess this is a question for any gun. Obviously I would only want to do this in accordance with the law just one of those questions laying in bed that came to mind.
And will run for 40 days (not consecutive). This is year 1 of a 2 year session. Which means any bill that doesn't get voted down this year will still be alive for next year.
Keep your eyes and ears open for gun bills. Bills can be searched for here: https://www.legis.ga.gov/search
Remember last session the anti gun crowd tried to sneak in gun location restrictions into a child assault bill.
Talk to your legislator. If you don't know who they are, you can find out here: https://www.legis.ga.gov/find-my-legislator
Consider joining a gun rights organization. Ga2a.org is my choice.
Stay vigilant.
Well folks I'll try and keep this short: I am on the hunt for a Lynx 12 shotgun and so far Outdoors trader is fruitless. If I could just buy parts I'd be as happy as a pig in shit, but we all know that isn't an option. So I have taken to checking out the RK gun shows. SO far twice at Union Hall and today in Cartersville. No lynx yet. Given I am looking for the Lynx 12,parts and other com bloc stuff, would the Atlanta location be a better bet? Or is there another show location that might have better pickings?
Alright, imagine this: you're on a hike, and you trip. Instead of just blaming gravity, you blame the boots you’re wearing and propose a law that all boots must come with a million-dollar insurance policy for every time someone stubs their toe. It sounds ridiculous, right? But that’s the kind of logic we're dealing with when it comes to proposing liability insurance for assault rifles. Why single out the rifles when handguns are responsible for way more violence? How about we tackle the bigger issues—like mental health, or maybe, just maybe, the violence that happens regardless of what type of gun is involved? Let’s keep it real.
Hey guys. I used armlist over 2 dozen times before covid, and now it's a pay to use so, I'm considering paying the fee, but wanted to check here beforehand.
I have a few pistols and rifles that have been modified or rattle canned that I'd like to offload. Not hurting for money, so pawn shop or LGS commissioned is not a route I'd like to go. Really want to get into NV, so offloading some rarely used arms should help get me there.
GAFS would be fine for just the uppers, but I'd like to offload the whole setup. Any ideas if something like armslist is free to post?
Inb4 I usually met the seller/buyer at local police for those past transactions, so it was fairly safe.
Ever wandered into a place that mixes the unexpected? That's what happened when I visited the local "Tech & Tackle." Not exactly a gun store, but definitely a place where random hobbies collide. They have a small stock of tools, a few fishing rods, and some strange tech gadgets I never knew existed. Got myself a new multi-tool before heading out for some hiking.
The sign outside reads, "All gadgets welcome! Keep 'em secure unless your next big project requires a hands-on approach." Pretty vague, but I guess it works.
Hey folks,
I’m an Englishman preparing to move to Georgia soon and need some advice. Although I’ve been shooting for years in the UK, where firearms are much more restricted, the pistol world is all new to me. We didn’t get much opportunity to handle them back home, but now I’ll have the chance to try it out.
I’m interested in getting a pistol for self-defense and maybe concealed carry, but also something I can use at the range and train with regularly. I’ve heard a lot about the Glock 19, but I’m wondering if I should go with something like that, or if there's another option I should consider as a first gun.
I’m not looking for anything super expensive, but I also don’t want to buy something too basic that I’ll regret in a few months. Any recommendations for a solid starting pistol that won't require too many modifications right away?
Also, any suggestions for good shooting ranges in North Georgia would be appreciated!
Looking forward to your thoughts!
I am a Georgia resident but am currently working in Texas for the next few months. Is it legal to buy a gun online from Georgia and have it delivered to me in Texas?
Have you ever seen someone slap a red dot sight on a wheelgun? It's a trend that's gaining traction, but is it actually practical? Sure, red dots offer precision, but a revolver's design isn’t exactly built for quick optics setups. Between the heavy recoil and the slower reload times, does it really make sense? Some say it's a game-changer for accuracy, others argue it's overkill. What’s your take on this modern twist to classic wheelguns?
I'm trying to find a store in GA that has shooter-grade milsurp Mosins (M44 preferred, but I ain't picky). Ideally more north georgia. Any info helps!
Looking for a range and/or buddies to shoot with in Southern GA. General Vicinity of Savannah/Statesboro(ish)
Thanks.
...because ODT has turned into a cesspool of mouthing breathing idiots. I've been on ODT for 13 years and have almost 100 feedback, but it's been a few years now since I've posted anything, and Jesus that place has become full of low IQ individuals. Posted a gun the other day and it's nothing but moronic low ball offers, people with little or no feedback wanting me to drive half way across the state for a $300 gun when my ad clearly states I will only meet in my town or the next one over, or getting ghosted after being asked where/when I can meet.

I'm teaching Core Skills on January 19 (PractiScore registration) and Skill Development on February 16 (PractiScore registration).
Click on the class names for detailed descriptions. In short, Core Skills covers practical-shooting fundamentals such as vision, grip, trigger control, stance, movement, and visualization while Skill Development teaches how to shoot efficiently and train effectively.
Both classes are at South River Gun Club east of ATL. Max of six students to ensure plenty of one-on-one coaching. Expect to shoot 400–500 rounds/day. Further reading on training: link.
Other dates are in the works. Contact me if you’d like to set something up.
Anyone know if there a metal detectors at the High? Taking my wife on a date and don't really want to leave my CCW in the car if I can't carry it
Hi there! I am in Atlanta area visiting cousins and was wondering if I can buy HK pistol ( pretty good deal on a local to GA gun store website) and request dealer to ship it to my FFL in CT for transfer? Please advise. Thanks
I've noticed a surprisingly large number of posters on ODT that are only looking to trade, and flat out refuse to sell or buy. At first glance, this seems like they're unnecessarily limiting their options. Sell to person X, buy from person Y, instead of hoping that someone wants what you have and has what you want.
Is there some practical reason for this that I'm overlooking?
While it seems Adv.Out. no longer has a Facebook page, they do have an Instagram and a working google link. Unless I am mistaken, it seems like they are open on Christmas Day from thier google page's hours. Can anyone confirm this? Does that mean NICS would work on Christmas day too? I feel like I've lost my marbles here. Surely, they would be closed...
February of this year I got my first charge ever and it was a misdemeanor marijuana charge. Ended up getting 6 months probation and completed that this August 2024. It is now December 2024.
Am I able to still purchase firearms? If so is there a certain waiting period after I’ve finished everything?
