Trying to plan out when to take my renewal class.

I have no idea what to do next with it or how to do it but I’m eager to absorb a ton of info, learn, and slowly apply it to this “build”. I’m thinkin .223 somethin PSA for the upper probably though

On their website it just says submit an email to be placed on the waitlist with some very basic information (C/P below).

I've read from others I also need to submit the application and other documents together with the same request. Is that necessary since it says your application/documents will be uploaded after you're scheduled. I just don't want it to come back and say you need additional paperwork and resubmit/wait again.

Anyone have a recent timeline for receiving a call to schedule an appointment with LAPD? I submitted my request at the end September 2024 I know it says about 1yr.

Gents, this isnt something I've done more then a few times in my life and ill admit I didnt think about the legality before purchasing some of my parts. I have had a rude awakening. Some of my parts ive been collecting for years, like my Cross Armory special red quick pins and safe mag. It will fit my mil-spec lower... but I, in my infinite wisdom purchased am M1E1 lower. So it has a bump that stops the mag stock from working.

Here are my options:

1. Toss the $67 in parts and get the upgraded part that should fit? 'Safe Mag 2' losing out on the Black/Red theme of my gun build.

2. I could take it to a gun smith to file down the bump, its not detrimental to its operation or safety.

3. Look into a completely different option. What are your favorite options for this if NOT the Cross Armory.

So, I purchased an MXC Regulator last month and have just submitted my info to acquire Sig's free p365 promo. From you're general experience how long does it usually take?

The inquiry have something to do with my type of work. I'm a travel worker and I may be out of California between three months or up to a whole year this coming December. I'm just wondering how long do FFL dealers would normally hold a firearm to be DROS?

Does anyone know how “relaxed” LAPD is with mods when applying for CCW?

TLDR; Want to get a comp’d slide and flat trigger for my p365 but sig won’t sell me a slide with LCI or a trigger that works with the mag disconnect unless I send it to them and pay them to install it.

I lose two of the “safety” features that make things legal if I buy the non-CA version(which they do ship to CA lol)

Do I play it safe and wait til after I get the CCW to modify or is LAPD genuinely super chill with mods

So I've had my Hakim at my preferred gunsmith since July. Unfortunately, due to a combination of backlog and the gunsmith being in and out of the hospital, it has not even been looked at since I dropped it off. While I definitely understand the delays and I'm not in too much of a rush to get it fixed, I'd like to try other options to see if I can get it fixed sooner.

Does anyone know of any gunsmiths that work on milsurps anywhere in California? I'm based in NorCal, but because of how niche this work might be, I'm willing to drive as far as needed to find someone, anywhere in the state.

I've probably put about 800 rings through her over 2 days.

Only complaint i have is that damn groove under the trigger.

Got a blister last Saturday when i first got her and again today after shooting.

My other hks do not have that grove.

Made quick work of it with a Dremel though. Need to clean up the plastic a bit, but already a night and day difference.

Has anyone seen how Long Beach increased the price for a CCW? It increased such a huge amount. If you are Applying after 9/30 of this year you’ll be getting shafted.

Initial was 99.15 now it’s 273.93

Issuance went from 396.59 to 273.93(only thing that decreased)

Renewal went from 25 to 286.70

Psych evaluation went from 150 to 400

And for an amendment it shot up from 10 to 28.67

It went from paying about 735.74 for initial before adding in a CCW class to it now being 1067.86. And once you need to renew you have to pay 286.70 instead of the old 25.

Title. I know LASD takes some time, but are local police departments faster? I’m on the west side of LA county. If anyone has gotten their CCW with local PDs on that half of LA, I’m curious what your experience was like. Thanks!
