Dedicated to America's favorite rifle, and Ruger's most popular firearm, the venerable 10/22.

Anybody heard of heresy designs ? I found this chassis but I can’t find any actual reviews online . Yet I see that people like brownells and Rainier are selling them .
I was told by OG owner that they will feed Ruger BX 10/25 mags (didnt have any for the sale) but i see online that Butler Creek feeds best and came with the rifle new... anyone help me out? Do Ruger BX 10/15s or 10/25s fit/feed? Dont have the money to try 10 different mags to find out... TYIA. 🍻
*side note, running a KIDD bolt and a BX trigger pack. Swapped the mag release. And all my box mags are Ruger.
So I bought this 1022 years ago used and it came with a Franklin armory binary trigger and 2 mags. I then painted it and proceeded to shoot it twice cause it’s incredibly unreliable and not actuate at all ( it will shoot like 75% of the time and will stove pipe at lease once every 10 rds) I have tried all sorts of different types of ammo and still it’s not reliable.
With that all said besides the barrel and I guess the trigger (cause the FA binary trigger sucks) what’s the cheapest parts to replace to make this usable ?
I'm trying to make a relatively budget build bull barrel rifle that I can toss in a cheap Magpul or equivalent stock. My problem is, I have no idea how to put together a receiver, barrel, and stock from only parts/what parts to get. I saw Brownell's has a stripped receiver on sale which I want to pick up, and I'd imagine I can just add a bull barrel and stock to my cart, but I don't know where to find any of the other parts to put it all together besides maybe a trigger assembly. Is there a place where I can get all the links for each part and just buy it from there, or do I need to source each individual part from various locations? All I want is a somewhat nice build (like if plastic can be avoided that'd be great) but I'm not trying to drop hundreds on Volquartsen parts and make a crazy performance gun. Thanks in advance for any input
Brownell's is having a Black Friday sale on their Black BRN-22 Receivers. You can pick up the Railed or Smooth Top Receivers for $84.99. They also have their Stainless and Nitride BRN-22 Bolt Assemblies on Sale for $79.99.
I've built one 10/22 using the BRN-22 Railed receiver and I built my Wife a 10/22 with their Smooth Top receiver. Both receivers have been working perfectly. If you're interested here are links to both.

Good deal at my LGS. I wanted the Magpul stock anyway and this one came with it so it was hard to resist. Cheap 3-9 scope I had laying around ... for now. I ordered the BX trigger as well. Any words of wisdom to someone new to this platform?
Recently bought my first 10/22, a 1967 with a finger groove walnut stock in really good condition. I went to take it apart and give it a deep clean, and came to notice that the guide rod assembly was stuck in the rear notch at the back, and by the bore at the front, preventing me from removing it. I thought this was strange, as the videos ive seen removing this part looked as though the guide rod had shorter tolerances to allow for the pitching to one side and easy removal. I ended up just pulling the barrel to remove it. Has anyone else had a 10/22 with tolerances that did this too?
My 22 charger all of a sudden stopped ejecting fired brass. It will eject maybe 1/4 of them fine, but most of the time I'm having to manually eject. Not getting caught in the bolt or anything, it sounds like the action doesn’t even work when it’s happening. It’s noticeably quieter.
Cleaned gun , mags, and suppressor, and tried multiple mags. It will even do it with the mag out. Not sure what's going on, the extractor on the bolt looks okay.
Any advice?
Edited to add: ammo is cci standard velo, have run over 1k rounds through this setup w no issues. Videoed myself shooting and it looks like the bolt isn’t going all the way back
Went ahead and jumped on the B-Team bandwagon 😄
Was having some feeding issues when using the BX25s so when I got the new stock, I gave it a good deep clean, updated my mag release spring and figured might as well pop in an auto release amd mag release lever while I'm in there.
Wish me luck!
Tacsol receiver - great Tacsol barrel - great Their trigger - why did they design it so that it wont fit on most chassis ☹️☹️☹️☹️ Spire gunworks chassis - phenomenal This things pretty damn cool in my opinion
Hi,
Newbie here, I’ve had a magpul ms4 sling laying around. I’m wondering if I can just use that for an Appleseed event instead of getting another one. Not sure if it’s any different from a USGI sling Appleseed recommends.
I’m pretty set on getting a takedown because I like the idea of a packable rifle. I have never done a custom rifle build before so I’m wondering if anyone has some good recommendations on where to start.
Deleted my prior post. Finally bought a 10/22. Cheapest one I could get and it was on sale. I've heard these things are addicting. Ffl at academy last week told me head 10, including his first one from 37 years ago. This one I plan to outfit like an m1 carbine so it fits in with my milsurp stuff. Planning on a sarco paratrooper stock. See there's several sight options. Which is the preferred option?
Have wanted a 90/22 for the longest time, finally bought once and cried once (happy tears)
I have a faxon receiver and barrel with a jwh bolt. Have only shot a few rounds with this but still having issues with rounds not firing, and I believe the issue is light primer strikes. Any guesses on what I should do or check to remedy this?
Since my 10/22 build/upgrade has been a blast, I'm looking for the next "thing" and have been admiring some of the charger builds. I'm looking at ending up with something in an Enoch D6 chassis with a suppressor (but maybe not dedicated since it may spend time on my 10/22 - so I am considering barrels from 4.5-9" with or without a linear comp to extend to the end of the chassis).
I am trying to decide between starting with an 8" Ruger and upgrade as I go vs. building from scratch. As I understand it - if I were to start with an 8" charger I can add a brace to whatever chassis it ends up in, and a stock would require a stamp. What I am confused by, however is whether the same holds true if I start with a stripped receiver? Is it akin to an AR? Can I turn the stripped receiver into a pistol without issue?
Any advice on whether to start with a stock build and upgrade vs. building from scratch, I'd appreciate it. I
So i have a question for yall.
I was planning on buying a bergara bxr but seeing the so-so reviews and issues I think I now plan on finding a used 10/22 and upgrading it right away for a semi accurate squirrel gun/fun target rifle.
I am looking at doing a stock/bx trigger/ barrel and mainly am wondering if a feddersen or acculite is a better choice for accuracy? ...or if it's just splitting hairs.
Or just run the bxr and maybe upgrade that down the road?
Or a different barrel maker I don't know about?
The hogue stock combo is what I'd probably go with (though I didn't like the hogue stock on my old 700sps).
Trying to keep the build under 700ish so the kidd route isn't in the plans for me.
Thanks in advance!
I'm a new 10/22 owner, and finding it tedious to reload my 10rd while endlessly plinking, and my BX-25 seems very finicky (with any ammo).
Has anyone used the Black Dog Machine 50rd drum with Aguila high velocity solid point copper? That seems to be my ammo of choice.
Failing that, curious if there's new recommendations for higher capacity mags. The 110 seems too finicky to bother with.
I swapped out the stock barrel on my 10/22 for a Feddersen bull barrel This is my first barrel swap and I wanted to make sure this space between the V block and the receiver was normal?
