Hey all, looking for recommendations for some 500 yard ranges. Any suggestions ?

Visiting Dallas for vacation and I want to get some rounds in at an outdoor range. Won't be bringing any of my guns from home. I'm looking for a good outdoor range where we are able to rent guns.

I’m looking to buy my first handgun (and first gun) off of my friend, he was lives in Texas and can legally own guns. I live in Texas as well and I have no criminal history at all as well as my friend. Would I be able to simply buy the gun off of him? Or is there anything I would need to do before hand? I just want to legally buy the gun. Also I would mostly use it for the gun range/ recreational

The manufacturer of my gun safe won't sell me another shelf for god know what reason. I can cut a piece of plywood but want to match the carpet. Anyone know what kind of carpet they use in gun safes?

Not sure if I'm in the right forum but i have a question and hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I had a felony charge about 12 years ago and got 10 years of probation. i completed it and since it was deferred adjudication i wasn't technically charged with a felony. I have bought about 10 guns after this and never had a problem with my background. I recently bought a century arms ap5-m that i want to sbr, anyone know if ill have a issue being approved? TIA

A sale gone wrong and always use caution when selling to other folks. Be wise and look for red flags, if it doesn't feel right just don't do it.

wondering if anyone has a link to a reliable website about if I can build a AR Pistol with a pistol brace.

I am filling out the online application and got to the very end to the application page and I put in my credit card (Visa) information, and it gives me an error, saying to make sure all the information is correct etc. I did these another two times and got the same error. I then checked my bank account, and I was charged three times but also "refunded" three times as well, all the charges are pending, so now my available balance is pretty low. I called DPS and asked if she could see anything on her end and she said I would have to wait 24 hours because the system takes a long time. I was thinking that there would be nothing in the system because my application never went through, so I do not know what I am waiting for. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or advice on what to do.

I'll be running a 3-day LPVO Employment Course that focuses on the capabilities of the optic both up close and at distance. The facility that the course will be held in offers steel targets out to 500 yards and a short-range bay of 360-degrees.

Hey everyone, hope this is the right sub. Recently became a permanent resident after 20 years of being in the US. I've always had an interest in owning a handgun but I obviously never could until recently. I'm pretty much a newborn in this area. What type of handgun should I be looking into? Where could I go to take a class and learn more? I want to do this right. Hopefully don't get judged too hard. I live 20 mins from Dallas area. Just trying to figure this out. Thanks guys

I just received my echo trigger today for my ak47 (zpap m92) I installed it and now it won’t chamber anyone have any clue what it could be for a 500$ trigger this is the worst experience I wish I would’ve read reviews on it before purchasing it seems like it gets stuck mid chamber and then the trigger sometimes doesn’t want to release even when pulling it

I’ve been seeing everywhere that 18 year olds can get a LTC is this true? i live in san antonio and i called a place here they said you can’t even submit it but i’ve been emailing a range in waco and they said i can come in and do the shooting test or class?

So, I will be looking into purchasing a gun soon. However, I want to know if I can. When I was fifteen the police came to my house because I was refusing to go to the Children's Hospital for mental health reasons (suicidal). I've struggled with mental health in the past, BUT I am all better now thanks be to God. No court was ever involved in getting me to an outpatient/inpatient facility. Police never even took me to the hospital, they just got me to go with my parent and left. Nothing ever came of it. Also, my parents were divorced and a decree came along a few years later and I may have been ordered to continue therapy with a court appointed therapist in the decree. (I didn't do anything. This decision was made when I was ten. I'll ask my parents if there was something in the decree, but even so it wasn't for criminal reasons.)

Would this prohibit me from buying a firearm? I want one because I find the science behind them interesting and also want to keep myself and my loved ones safe and sound. Thank you very much! God bless.

Pretty new to the Dallas area. I live in Frisco. Looking for some hidden Gem ranges and out door ranges that you don’t have to be “Jim Bobs cousin” to get into. Just a couple pistols and PCC ar9’s. Not looking for a membership but I have heard of some member ships being pretty cheap out west. I don’t mind driving if it’s worth the drive and can make an all day affair out of it. Also I shoot mostly Federal FMJ so if they don’t allow that then that’s a negative. Thanks for the help and if anybody wants to meet up and go shoot let me know!

I went to the local Sherrifs office for a background check & it said clear so I’m kind confused on what to do !

I recently bought a firearm about 1 week ago from Carter’s Country and when I arrived to pick it up, (I ordered it online and got it shipped there) I filled out my information so they could run a background check. After about 20 minutes the background check still hadn’t gone through and they gave me my receipt and told me to pick it up on Saturday. Come Saturday, I show up and they said the background check still hasn’t gone through and that I might have to wait 90 days and possibly fill out a new background check. They said the reason was because I’m under 21 and I’m a first time buyer. Is this normal? What’s the longest you’ve know someone wait?

I heard the FPC V McCraw case resulted in 18 year olds being allowed to get an LTC without protective orders, and the research I've done so far says this also applies to constitutional carry as long as the handgun is purchased from a private sale or gifted. Anybody know more on that?
