Recently moved from Washington and absolutely LOVE IT HERE. FISHING, FOOTBALL AND FAMILY!!!
I’m a long haul truck driver and unfortunately have to leave my family for weeks at a time in some cases. With no family out here, I’m constantly worried about the safety of my wife and kids.
With a clean criminal record, I’m BEGGING my wife to get something (ANYTHING) to give me a little peace of mind while I’m on the road. Been on TGT for a couple weeks but some say it’s full of scammers or flakes. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE HELPFUL!! Make model? Caliber? Like I said, any suggestions help.
Just came across the smallest sign I almost missed it. I’m sure the letters are 1 inch long though .. per legal requirement
I'm sitting on a couple guns I'd like to move in order to attain 2-3 specific guns and I've been unable to move them as quickly as I'm used to. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal, TGT tends to come through eventually no matter what, but I swear this ALWAYS happens when I'm in the market for a new gun and trying to sell or trade old ones to afford it. Am I the only one this happens to, or do y'all have better luck than I do? I've had it happen maybe once or twice in my time as an owner where I've had at least a somewhat decent or fair trade for correct values on both sides, but much better luck with just selling and putting the cash towards the next item. I can't even begin about the ammo and accessories side though, like I've been storing the same fancy Mosin ammo, sling, and bayonet in a corner for months and can't be bothered to list it since everybody wants it bundled with a rifle. Just seems like maybe the market's dry right now or I'm not getting the correct pairs of eyes on my stuff, not sure if y'all relate
I moved to Austin not long ago. I have a DMV appointment a few weeks out, I was wondering if I could use my hunting license to buy a gun.
Hi all, I'll be in the DFW area for work for a few days. Is there any range renting firearms to solo people if not bringing your own ? I'm aware of why most ranges have that rule... it' just a PITA.
TIA
No I’m not here to change your state I love being here and am embracing the freedom especially when it comes to firearms. I’m also here for military reasons so work more or less. That being said I left a couple stripped lowers I bought in CA when I lived there and forgot to pack em and I would like to get em sent here now that I live in TX. Anyone had a similar issue like this before and would they have to be sent to an FFL? Brought all my other hardware already that’s fully built or just another gun for that matter. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
Hey guys, just recently turned 21 about a month ago and moved to Houston Texas about a year ago from New York. As y’all know the gun laws in NY are beyond different from those here and i just need some help. Been thinking of getting a handgun for home self defense and just a little confused. Can i really just walk into a store and buy one since i’m 21? I assume they have to do the whole background check and stuff but in New York it was a long extensive process along with needing a license. Just curious and excited to hopefully own my first handgun, thanks guys!
so i have decided that owning a handgun would make me feel more safe alone in public. i have shot several guns before ranging from small handguns to large shotguns. my issue is that those were all my dads guns and i don't remember what each gun was for or what it was exactly.
i am looking for a medium weight gun that is reliable, doesn't have a ton of kickback and is more wallet friendly, this would be primarily used for self defense. i would be buying a holster to go with it so take that into consideration. TIA
EDIT to add: i am in the austin area but travel to the lubbock area occasionally
Any good brick-and-mortar stores that sell military surplus rifles/older firearms in the SATX/Austin area or their outskirts? I know online shopping for is likely a better option, but I enjoy going in person sometimes. Thanks!
Hey, I'm 19 and I've heard that I could get a concealed carry license even though im under 21. Does anybody know the steps I need to do to accomplish this?
I live in nc, I’ll be visiting Texas in February to see an old friend of mine. I know since I’m not a resident of Texas that I can’t purchase a firearm. But I’d like to do something for my buddy as a belated birthday gift. So if he went and got something and I just gave him my card then would that be legal? Or would I be considered the purchaser thus making the transaction illegal? I know cash is an option but if don’t have to go to the atm then I won’t lol.
I recently moved to Texas still waiting to change my ID. But I was wondering if in the mean time I can use my hunting license as an official form of ID to purchase a hand gun. Thank you in advance.
Hi guys, I am planning to move to Texas. What features are banned on AR pistol in Texas.
Can a Texas dine in restaurant even get a TABC gun sign red license?
Anyone with night vision in the Brian/College Station area? I've got night vision and land to shoot on just outside of town. Looking for more people to go night shooting/hunting with.
I bought the above but after several years of my husband’s mental health issues it’s all been sitting in a storage facility. I don’t want them in the house just in case and would love to recover at least some money from the storage fees. I know nothing about firearms so how do I get it all off my hands safely, legally and without losing my ass? I have zero knowledge of these things as I was raised anti-firearm and never got around to learning them, despite my want to.
I have a question if I had a military protective order placed on me while I was active duty can I still purchase a firearm?
I took the LTC course and passed my range test in 2018(ish?), but I never got around to getting fingerprinted.
Do I have to completely start over since it’s been a few years or can I continue where I left off?
I’ve got a SBR, which was a gift from my deceased uncles girlfriend. (Was my uncles gun) I’m not too informed on gun laws. It has a pistol brace. The barrel is obviously less than 16 inches. My question is, am I supposed to register it anywhere? Also, how much would I be looking at (low end) to convert it to a rifle?
I am interested in buying a firearm from an individual off of Texas Gun Trader. Having never used the site before, I am very wary of scams. The seller is willing to meet in person and sign a firearm bill of sale. His preferred method of payment is Apple Pay, Zelle, or chime. He has not asked for any money before meeting. His phone number area code checks out.
Overall, it seems legitimate, but I’d prefer to be overly cautious. I want to make sure there’s not some angle I’m not seeing.
The one thing that makes me somewhat cautious is that the price of the gun seems to almost be too good to be true. His English/grammar is also not the best as seen in the image.
Is this likely a scam? Is there anything I should be worried about? Is there any way I can insure that the gun is not stolen? Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated!
Just got a new AR-15 Pistol but wanna make sure pistol braces are legal I keep hearing back and forth about it being legal and illegal.
I want to buy a gun, however I was briefly voluntarily hospitalized for mental health back in 2011, and then voluntarily went to rehab in 2014. I have had zero mental health issues since then, don’t take any medication, and have been drug free. I am seeing conflicting things about if I’m eligible. Is there any actual professional I can talk to? I see people mentioning lawyers, but I do not see any lawyers offering that service unless you’ve been charged with a gun offense. I’m in the Dallas area
Is there any gun ranges in Texas with pop up targets?
Good morning any gun owners with dual citizenship? Want to get my dual citizenship but don’t know if it’s going to affect me with my LTC & buying firearms in the future thank you
Im 21 years old I firmly have a huge interest and love for firearms and I’d love to be a first time owner of one but there’s this catch with the Form.
On the question where it says “Have you been adjudicated as a mental defective OR have you ever been committed to a mental hospital”
I was 16 and had gone through someone a sibling of mine snitched on me about my mental health yknow teenager stuff your a teen and your stupid n all , and well I told the counselor about some heart break and I admit I believe I told them about suicidal bull and I forgot about the rest but all I know is after that I remember a school guard placing me in handcuffs and him telling me im not being arrested just being taken to the mental facility I only stayed for approximately 3 days and after that the rest is history curious to whether or not it applies to me and whether or not my chances of buying a firearm would be denied.
Also there was no court issued order no court appearances nothing like that
This all took place in highschool Asking also aswell to not get in any legal trouble
Hello all, I'm looking to see if anyone has a PSA AK-V and how their experience has been with it. If they like it, I'd love to have a chance to go to the range with you and run a few boxes through it.
Also, if there are any other active groups for shooters in the DFW area feel free to tag them. Thanks!
