Has there been any new info about the lawsuits against the mayor EO's? Thought there was an injunction in Omaha and Lincoln had a scheduled court day but haven't been abke to find any updates since around February.
Hey all, coming up on a move to Nebraska from Missouri. I have my MO CCW, a G19 and a handful of shotguns and rifles. No NFA items. Anything I can’t bring or anything I need to know to be a responsible Nebraskan gun owner?
Anybody have suggestions for somebody in or around Omaha that can do barrel threading? Was hoping to pick up a .22 can soon and always thought my nylon 66 with a suppressor would be a pretty neat package. Thanks in advance!
Looking to pay someone who ideally has some steel targets and some land to shoot at so I can sight in and train with my new AR. Even if you don't have steel targets, if you're willing to let me put a stake in the ground so I can print out some targets, that'd be cool too.
Totally willing to pay you to use it, I just don't want to pay DEguns to use their range since they only offer an entire day session for like $40, and I wouldn't be shooting nearly enough ammo to actually shoot for the whole day. Let me know!
I’ve been a member since it was Omaha gun club. Yesterday I got an email saying they were closing up next month. The email stated only members who paid after November got a refund. I emailed and asked to be refunded for the six months I have left. They replied with you can still use your membership at the other locations but we are stealing your money.
When I go into a retailer to buy a new Sig P365, do I need my purchase permit on hand or can they look that information up? I happened to wash mine in the laundry. I’d assume they can look it up but I’m not sure.
Bigger and better show in New Town. Formerly in North Loup Nebraska. This will be the 30th annual Valley County Gun Show.
I just received the notice that my CHP is up for renewal. Is there any benefit to renewing now that we have constitutional carry in the state? If not I'll just save the money and let it expire.
Anyone going to the show at the former Lancaster Event center? Haven’t been to an NE Gun Show before. Wanted to know if anyone know what to expect for vendors and such.
Going to sbr my 9mm Ak. Anyone in the east side of the state who’s trusted with chopping ? I’m going to suppress it too so hoping to find someone experienced with timing / concentricity/ etc
I filed out my form 1 stuff for a SBR today and now I need figure out where to get it engraved. I was told trophy shops and stuff but I figured I’d see if there’s any better leads than googling “trophy shop Lincoln ne”. I know DE will do it but I’m not giving them my money.
I’ll be traveling between the 2 cities in July. looking for an outdoor range w/ either open berms or 500yd+ options. Public unless anyone wants to host a stranger at a private facility.
From multiple sources I've seen that LB77 goes into effect on Sept 10th this year.
However, i saw something interesting the other day in an article and then saw it again in this WOWT article:
Gov. Pillen signs permitless conceal carry bill (wowt.com)
They were talking to Douglas County Attorney Don Klein and made the following statement about people currently facing concealed handgun charges:
"And for the number of individuals who have currently been charged with carrying a concealed weapon - those charges will be dropped by September 10. 6 News is told there are between 50 and 100 of those cases."
What this tells me, is that even if somebody is conceal carrying without a permit between now and Sep 10 and gets caught, they won't prosecute them. So it essentially takes effect today.

I have seen some comments suggesting that the passage of LB77 and it's language to eliminate local ordinances around concealed weapons, would apply to pocket knives greater than 3.5" because under of their classification under state and city laws in Omaha and Lincoln.
Can anyone shed some further light on this? Or point out in the bill where this is addressed?
Only thing I have found is this post https://kniferights.org/legislative-update/ne-constitutional-carry-including-knives-passes-on-to-governor/
I filled out the necessary forms and put them in the drop box (carefully filling out the forms, making sure they were notarized, paid the fee, double checked everything etc.) I have a clean record and nothing to disqualify me from getting the license. So assuming that the permit is granted, how long should I expect to wait? There were a few confusing things on the form (example was whether I'd applied before and been denied, and answered no, on the same line after that question they asked if I had paid the $5 fine, I interpreted this as pertaining to a previous permit attempt that was denied, so I answered no and wrote in parentheses that I included the $5 fee as they will obviously see. Will minor things like this possibly cause them to reject the permit? I was also wondering if they would email you on the status before mailing the paperwork to you, or just expect a letter to come soon? Sorry for all the questions but I would like to hear anyone else's experience that's gone through the process in Sarpy County.
Let's look back at some memorable moments and interesting insights from last year.

Hey folks, does anyone know of a non-private place in Eastern Nebraska (near Omaha) to shoot outdoors?
I’m having a tough time finding a >=100m patch of land that no one owns/isn’t farmland that I’m able to shoot on. Does anyone know of any decent spots or areas?
I know ENGC exists and their range looks awesome but I’d rather not become an NRA member, so that’s unfortunately not a great option for me.
Any help would be much appreciated!
