There is a used compact mod2 9mm at my local shop going for $400 comes with a CT red dot, 4mags and a holster.. do you guys think it's a good deal or a pass?
Thinking about waiting a month or 2 seeing if it's still there or if the price drops any. What's your opinions
I would have saved a few deneros this season if I bought the echelon first, however the pdp steel frame is an absolute hammer as well.
Originally bought a Herrington arms comp for my hcp but when HA was having a Black Friday sale I said f it why not. Def a better experience use case for the hellcat more than the pro for me. Not gonna use the oem comp if anybody wants to trade for a 13 or 15 round mag lmk.
Love this gun, it's the best iteration of best millimeter for sure.
So I called SA yesterday and was told that the only parts to change from a Browning Hi-Power are the sights. Specifically, the SA sight cuts are as follows:
Front: 60 degree angle; .285” cut
Rear: 60 degree angle; .435” cut
Does anyone know of any 3rd party sights that are cut as such? Thanks!
Sighting in the Holosun Eps carry. 15 yard zero. Don't hate me for it. Never failed me before. First two shots were left. Minor adjustments until center.
Top right 25 yards. Meh, its not great but I'll take it.
Bottom right 15 yards left handed. Yes, it's terrible.
I believe I had about 30 rounds on hand of 124gr.
Gun shoots better than me. The trigger sucks. Long, heavy and three reset is long.
The 3.7" barrel is what it is. It's not a tack driver.
If you're into competition shooting it's a hard no for this gun.
If you are self defense carrying and engage at 5,7,10 and 15 yards. Yes. It's good. Anything further, you're in a real shit show situation and better consider your 5.56 option.
Slide failed to lock back once. Probably me. I ride my thumbs high.
I only have one good eye. Thank you VA for the pennies I get for it.
Guarantee you are better shooters than me. Take it gir what it's worth.
Lastly, invest in a trigger because this one is probably the worst thing about the gun.
My dream pistol would be a springfield echelon compact 10mm. No one has ever made a proper compact 10mm. Manufacturers have made sub compacts and full sized options but for some odd unknown reason they haven't created one in a proper 4" compact size. The m&p 4" has a full sized grip and the sig compact 10mm has a port/comp on the end of it so no one has made a true compact 10mm. An echelon compact 10mm would be the greatest 10mm ever made in my opinion if they made it reliable. The xdm elite 3.8 10mm is nice but it doesn't have a 4" barrel and it has a subcompact grip which sucks for 10mm. A majority of the people that purchased the 3.8 10mm had to remove the magwell and use the extended magazine just to shoot it comfortably. A compact echelon 10mm would be awesome because it could be used for the wilderness, concealed carry and for duty!! It would be the one pistol that can do anything. I truly believe that a compact 10mm echelon would be one of the highest selling 10mm pistols of all time. Springfield if you're listening to this make a compact version!! A compact would be an unique option and would give people a reason to go out and buy it! Don't do what you did the last time which was releasing the full size first 😒. The g19 sized compact has ALWAYS been more popular than the full size so give people what they want this time! You sell the full sized version first because you want people to buy the same platform twice which is pure greed. You should release the compact AND the full size 10mm at the same time! If you only release the full size version first it'll be obvious to your customers that you care nothing about them. Cz is about the release a new p10c. Cz knows that their customers prefer a compact so they're listening to them! Be like CZ and choose what's popular! Make the compact echelon 10mm a reliable platform! The m&p and sig 10mm have issues running hot ammo so learn from their mistakes and make it reliable! Don't cheap out!!! If you need to put a metal double guide rod/recoil spring in the 10mm echelon to make it reliable do it!! If you need to make the rails a little bigger or change a couple of things to make it reliable do it!!! I know that you'll never read this but it's worth a try 😂.
XDM Mod 2 (discontinued) and the Echelon w/ported barrel.
I was debating between wich to get first, the Mod 3 ($299 for an outstanding firearm) or the Echelon (over $600) first. I LOVE my Mod 2 in the picture, but I decided on the Echelon.
After getting the Echelon, I would rather pick up the Echelon compact vs the Mod 3.
Echelon is just so much better. Feel, trigger, balance, etc. You need one. Trust me. LOL!
Will this barrel fit this handgun? I emailed Springfield but haven't heard back from them after a few days. It says the barrel is for the full size gun so I wasn't sure if it fits the compact model. Thanks. BTW I love this gun. The recoil is the same as my Glock 21. The only thing I don't like is the grip texture but a little hockey tape fixes that.
Delayed.
For my range bag.
Has anyone actually ordered a red dot from Amazon, just curious because it’s $200 less from Vortex
Really excited to shot Saturday.
Not thrilled with the shield. Maybe a holosun EPS carry? Would it be too big on the HC RDP?
I like how it came out. Hoping to put some more rounds through it this weekend.
Finally got her set up
My first ever handgun that I bought about 5 years ago now was a 10mm XDM 10mm. I didn’t spend a bit more for the Glock 20…hindsight is 20/20. I don’t think mine is an Elite. It’s got a 4.5” Match barrel. I bought it to have while camping in bear country and definitely want a Glock 20 but also want to know whether I should trade my XDM to help get a Glock, or if it’s still worth keeping.
I’ve been told that these XDM’s aren’t worth trusting with your life and are prone to major failures that turn it into a paperweight. So far I’ve fired about 1000 rounds through it just practicing. I keep it clean and haven’t had any issues.
Is it the smaller caliber XDMs that are more prone to failure? Is the 10mm more sturdy, or is the XDM in general just tend to be plagued with issues?
Been loving my Hellcat Pro Comp for my EDC and just picked up an Echelon Comp for home defense but after first shots today it might have to work its way into my carry rotation.
I know it’s pretty much impossible to find mag extensions for the XD-M Elite 9mm that fit with the flared magwell. But I’m gonna solve it.
I found a review on the +2/3 magazine extensions for the Echelon 17-rounders and XD-M 19-rounders from Taran tactical of a guy saying that they fit in his XD-M Elite (though are a little tight until the springs break in), and he made no mention of having to take the magwell off in order to do so. I just bought 2 of them (on sale for $12/per, too!) and will see if they fit. If so, I’ll provide a comment update with photos once they actually come in and I get them on. They give you a 22 round capacity FYI
Question in title. Looking to upgrade my hellcat pro trigger. I want to enjoy shooting it more because the rest of the platform seems good.. the trigger just annoys me.
Thinking about dropping an Apex in. For those of you who have an Apex, would you still feel safe carrying it daily?
New to the group and wanted to share my oldest and first Springfield...the XD MOD 2. I bought this XD in 2016 and it's been performing perfectly ever since. A solid shooter that was worth every penny!
Got my xdm 2 months ago and it's an amazing gun it has a very smooth mechanism, has a pretty good stock trigger, shoots great, very good recoil and it literally has no faults I got the 4.5 barrel and I've put about 4k rounds with 0 issues
