Does anyone have first hand knowledge with the range on 581 just outside of Goldsboro? Is it worth the fee? Until now I've always had private land to shoot on and I've heard plenty tales of over zealous range masters so I wanted to see if there is anyone familiar with the place and people In charge.
Hello, I’m based in the triangle and am interested in pairing up with other triangle/triad locals to do a bulk order of federal 147g FMJ and JHP.
Please shoot me a dm if you’re interested.
Anyone know any ranges in the Triangle that allow steel core? I stocked up on a bunch not realizing my usual range doesn't allow SC (I don't shoot often, my mistake), so for future reference I'd like to know if there's anything within a reasonable distance that's cool with it. For reference I live in Holly Springs.
Damn that title doesn’t sound right lol. My 19y/o son just completed CG basic. I’m so proud of him. He’s being stationed in Michigan. My kids have been shooting since they were small and an all are well versed in firearms safety. I have a G17.4 that I told him he could have if he followed through with this whole Coast Guard thing.
At 19 will he be able to take this Glock when he heads up to Michigan Thursday from NC? I know nothing of their gun laws. Best to wait until he’s 21?
I’m sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn’t find it searching in the subreddit. Do any ranges in the triangle allow steel cases ammo? Public or private. Thank you
Anyone have a SAR9? If so pros and cons
Under 21 lol
Who do you trust for online firearm purchases? I will have to find a spot in Meck county or near it for FFL transfer but who do yall buy from online?
TIA
Anywhere around Raleigh area to bring a Glock slide for an optic cut ?
I’m buying my first gun under my name (A JRA Galil) and I was delayed (no surprise there), however it seems the delay was enacted because I’m under 21. The FFL said it was because of the Safer Communities Act. Now I know it can take up to 10 days but what I want to know is, does it have to be a certain amount of days or can I get it as soon as in a couple of hours?
Just submitted my CCW application, just wondering if the 45-90 day window they give you is accurate. Only other posts I can find on this is from 2-4 years ago. Let me know your recent experiences.
Anyone know of any reliable FFL’s in the South Durham/Chapel Hill area? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I moved to NC about a year ago. I have my concealed carry permit from when I lived in Florida but lost the wallet I had it in. Does anyone know the process for mecklenburg county to get a duplicate or will I have to go through the process of getting any entirely new license? Thanks in advance!
Looking to buy a DY9 or PSA Dagger.. I found some online for ok prices but I want to find it somewhere local so I don’t have to wait on shipping
There is a couple C&E gun shows coming up soon hoping to find one there if I can
I really just started getting into guns and thinking about doing some build, but none of my friends at Duke (I'm a student) are into that type of stuff. So I wanted to see if I'd click with anyone on here that's in the triangle area. I like the tacticool stuff I'm also interested in 3D printing, hunting, and night vision. Most of my time that I spent away from school and very liberal friends is working out and doing martial arts. Just hit me up, I'd be cool with trying out for some pew pew competitions, or doing some specialized training.
I read GS 14-415 and I can’t tell for sure or find any relevant case law or any exclusions. Everything just says misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence and felonies. State law also uses the same verbiage as the federal law which lists exclusions for state misdemeanors with a maximum sentence of two years.
All I can find on the UNC School of Government talks about federal law. If someone can point me in the right direction I’d appreciate. Trying to find some resources before I go talk to an attorney.
I was wondering if it is possible to buy a rifle in NC if I'm not a resident of the state but I have an of of state concealed carry permit.
I just got my gun rights restored and a certified copy was sent to the SBI and the FBI, has anyone else had their rights restored? Wondering how long will it take to get cleared in NICS so I can go purchase a gun.

So if moderators don't take any mod actions once a month, you end up in the abandoned/suspended state (stupid rule, especially because most of you here are really civil/not causing problems)
So here to do the monthly mod action.
So I can't figure out the answer to this. I am wanting to buy a pistol for self defense, I am currently in a different city than where my Drivers license is registered. But that is because I am there for college so I haven't changed my adress, however I got my debit card here, so my billing address happens to be listed in this new address is that a problem?
I recently moved here from CA (nice to be free again), i heard gun shots earlier and seems like they were shooting from their backyard. I ain’t bitching or moaning, actually i wanna be friends with you guys and maybe come and shoot with you guys. I am waiting for my household goods to come in but i was able to bring my pistol with me. So whoever you are, shooting somewhere near Trout Street at Holly ridge, please hit me up.
UPDATE
Walked around this morning and saw a bunch of no trespassing signs and a whole lot of trees, I’m guessing it’s private land and they can shoot in their backyard since according to maps there’s nothing but forest there.
Do we no longer exist? For home address the form isn't accepting NC.
I’ve moved here from the west coast where you can go shooting anywhere that’s marked BLM or public land and I’ve been looking for something like that here shooting ranges are fun and all but sometimes it’s too crowded is there any suggestions or recommendations for a public area to go shooting
I live in NC and I saw on some news site (that I don't exactly that) that there was some law passed about a year ago requiring me to serialize my home built guns. Is this the typical case of a news source talking out of their ass without any knowledge or research on the matter? I've searched all around and all I can find is stuff older than two years saying no need to serialize or recent news articles posing the question without ever explicitly answering it.
If there has been a law recently passed requiring this then I find it fucking ridiculous how difficult it's been to find anything about it and on that basis I seriously question if these laws really are about deterrence and not just getting rid of a certain kind of people you don't like.
