Hey y'all, I wanna take my .22 and walk around in the woods and see if I can shoot any squirrels (I hear they taste good, and also I'd like to make a hat). I didn't grow up in a hunting family, and the couple of times I've hunted have been with friends who took care of all the logistics and just told me what license to buy and where to go (and also were not in Indiana). I've read the regulations here and still have a few questions:
For squirrels, I just need a basic hunting license? I did hunter safety in Maryland so I think I can use that certificate to apply here.
For finding land, I found this website: https://www.in.gov/dnr/fish-and-wildlife/hunting-and-trapping/where-to-hunt/ Is that the *only* public land I can hunt on? No state parks (or anything closer to Indy)?
Since it's deer season I need to wear something orange, but just one article, right? So a hat is good enough?
Speaking of deer, any tips for staying out of deer hunter's way?
Thanks in advance for answering my dumb questions. Figuring out how to fish was a lot easier!
I'm looking to order a Canik mete sft pro. It seems very difficult to find in an actual store. I'm in Northwest Indiana. Any recommendations for the best website to order from that is also affordable?
Hey all just moved here from SC with my family to the Warsaw area. With knowing no one in the area and thanksgiving around the corner, was wondering if there’s any public/private land I could take my oldest shoot? We would be very respectful and leave the property as we found it. Looking specifically to go shoot on thanksgiving day. Thanks in advance
Does anyone know of a place in Indiana (Indianapolis specificily) that let's you pay to store your gun that's not a storage unit setup? I know it's a long shot but my wife has a history with guns (father etc) and doesn't want one in the house right now so I'm looking for an off-site storage.
I'm looking at getting the 365 legion at my first gun (been shooting it a ton as a rental at my local range) but I know it's been out for a while and I'm wondering what's the release schedule like for new models? I'd hate to buy it now just to have a new one come out in a couple of months,. Anything new on the horizon, and what's a good source for early info?
Hey all-
Wondering if anyone has the current/up to date regulations on creating an outdoor shooting range in Marion County on private property? I believe I read that it requires approval from the chief of IMPD, but was wondering if anyone had any further info?
Making the trip to IN this weekend and while im there was hoping to find a couple mags for my ruger 10/22. Any stores I should stop by on the way? Where are some good spots I can try out these new mags without any problems?
I’m in the process of getting my license & looking for recommendations on classes/training courses in the central indiana area.

I’m thinking about selling one of my 44 Automags. Any thoughts on where the best place to sell it might be.
Hey guys. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of ranges around here? I’m trying to find somewhere outdoors to shoot close-ish to central Indiana/Fishers. Mainly looking to shoot shotguns and pistols. (Not clays, I have an m4 clone lol)
Thanks in advance!
AK for attention
Could I get some recommendations on where I can find out what the vaiue of some old ammunition I recently acquired. I want to sell it but don't want to be taken advantage of as I don't know much about this. Sorry if this is not allowed on this page.
Looking for someone who can thread an old rossi .22lr single shot barrel in/around Indy (southeast side preferably). If they can drill and tap for an optic mount that would be great too. New in town so I'm not sure who the good shops are. Thanks in advance.
The only thing I know is that I can only sell to an Indiana resident, so I need to ask for a valid IN driver's license.
Winchester 1897. I would like the riot or trench model. Indiana gun club had one a few months ago but was the trap model.
Is anyone here a indianagunowners.com admin? Would like to speak to someone if possible, regarding my account.
Just trying to help spread the word for anyone else who may be interested, hope to see some of you there.
Im new to this group and guns in general, but had a question. Im wondering if your able to buy a handgun being under 21 at the gun show. I own a AR15 i got back when i was 18 but now im almost 20. I was doing some research and saw that if the sellers have a FFL lisence then you cant buy a handgun from them being under 21, and if they didnt have a FFL then it was no problem. Are there alot of private sellers at the Indy 1500 gun show? Can anyone over 21 buy a handgun and i do a private sale with them? just want this cleared up before i go this weekend.
-Edit: Purchased a handgun at the gun show with cash. Asked Police and ATF there if it was okay before purchasing and was assured it was okay as long as it was a private sale. Guy had me sign a bill of sale and put a zip tie and sticker on the gun. Police checked me out before leaving and now I own a pistol.
hello, i’m new to this group. I have been trying to find either a K98 or a Yugo m48 but i haven’t had any luck. i was just curious if anybody has seen them around indiana?
I have tried to buy ammo from one if these places twice. Both times i am asked for my license. The first time, i simply told them i didn’t have it and they carried on with the transaction anyways. This most recent time when they asked i opted to just put it back and buy ammo from someone who isnt imposing new rules on me. When i went to pay for my other items, the cashier chastized me for paying with a debit card - as if privacy was my concern to begin with. It is the principle of not showing my id when i know i dont legally have to. Why do they have this policy and WHY?
