Making the trip to IN this weekend and while im there was hoping to find a couple mags for my ruger 10/22. Any stores I should stop by on the way? Where are some good spots I can try out these new mags without any problems?

Best place to sell a gun?

I’m thinking about selling one of my 44 Automags. Any thoughts on where the best place to sell it might be.

Outdoor ranges?

Hey guys. Does anyone have a comprehensive list of ranges around here? I’m trying to find somewhere outdoors to shoot close-ish to central Indiana/Fishers. Mainly looking to shoot shotguns and pistols. (Not clays, I have an m4 clone lol)

Thanks in advance!

Barrel threading in Indy

Looking for someone who can thread an old rossi .22lr single shot barrel in/around Indy (southeast side preferably). If they can drill and tap for an optic mount that would be great too. New in town so I'm not sure who the good shops are. Thanks in advance.

Anything I need to know regarding privately selling my handgun?

The only thing I know is that I can only sell to an Indiana resident, so I need to ask for a valid IN driver's license.

Any stores have one?

Winchester 1897. I would like the riot or trench model. Indiana gun club had one a few months ago but was the trap model.

Just moved here from Texas, don't have my Indiana DL yet, will I still be able to purchase a gun via transferring it to a FFL in Indiana, or do I need to apply for an IN DL?

Indy 1500 gun show

Im new to this group and guns in general, but had a question. Im wondering if your able to buy a handgun being under 21 at the gun show. I own a AR15 i got back when i was 18 but now im almost 20. I was doing some research and saw that if the sellers have a FFL lisence then you cant buy a handgun from them being under 21, and if they didnt have a FFL then it was no problem. Are there alot of private sellers at the Indy 1500 gun show? Can anyone over 21 buy a handgun and i do a private sale with them? just want this cleared up before i go this weekend.

-Edit: Purchased a handgun at the gun show with cash. Asked Police and ATF there if it was okay before purchasing and was assured it was okay as long as it was a private sale. Guy had me sign a bill of sale and put a zip tie and sticker on the gun. Police checked me out before leaving and now I own a pistol.

What is the deal with Range USA?

I have tried to buy ammo from one if these places twice. Both times i am asked for my license. The first time, i simply told them i didn’t have it and they carried on with the transaction anyways. This most recent time when they asked i opted to just put it back and buy ammo from someone who isnt imposing new rules on me. When i went to pay for my other items, the cashier chastized me for paying with a debit card - as if privacy was my concern to begin with. It is the principle of not showing my id when i know i dont legally have to. Why do they have this policy and WHY?

We’re doing one last public machinegun shoot before closing the property.

Located at the crown haven center in Russiaville. Ten bucks at the door. Bring all your NFA toys, and regular guns are welcome too. And bring your leftover Halloween pumpkins and tanerite.

With Rarebreed winning their court case, are FRTs banned under any laws in Indiana?

The title asks it all. Is there any restrictions regarding FRT (forced reset triggers) in Indiana? They were banned nationwide by the ATF until Rarebreed won their court case and the ban was lifted, but some states still kept the ban in place. I know our state is about as red as it can get, but just making absolute certain before I buy one.

Question on gun laws- backyard country shooting

I know you can shoot guns in backyards in the countryside in Indiana. I don’t know all the rules around it though. Hoping someone can read the scenario below and bring peace of mind, insight, or advice.

Scenario: I bought land that has a few trails (wooded and prairie) that my family will walk and ride regularly. We plan to make more. Our land envelopes around a few neighbor’s large yards. Their lands have no trees- mainly open cut grass. The previous owners of my land stopped doing much walking of the few trails that are already here. I learned tonight that many of the neighbors shoot in their back yards. For one of the neighbors who does shoot, the only direction they could possibly be shooting (other sides have homes) faces our prairie and trails.

What are the laws around back yard shooting if it faces private recreational land? What are laws around backstops to shoot against? - can those still face private land with recreational trails? I don’t know if our neighbor has one or not (didn’t look like it). I fear someone getting shot even with a backstop should they miss or shoot through the wood.

I’d like to hope and think folks will be cautious and logical and not shoot if they see us out there. But you can’t fully see through the tall prairie. Having experienced so many family member deaths, I can’t help but feel extremely anxious thinking about one of us being out walking, and a neighbor doesn’t know and decides they’ll start recreational shooting and me or an immediate family member gets hit or dies. We have a baby on the way we plan to walk through our trails too.

We plan to introduce ourselves to our neighbors, and hopefully seeing a pregnant wife and hear about how we will use our land will help cue folks in. However, I’d prefer to communicate more directly about this topic so no assumptions are made that could be permanently costly or deadly.

If no laws exist around this scenario, any gun owners have advice around how to have a conversation around this with neighbors that wouldn’t feel like your rights are being infringed upon? My initial thoughts are if it’s legal for them to shoot, potentially missing their backstop if they have one, and it fly through our land, to ask neighbors to inform us when they plan to shoot so we can verify if we are on our trails or not. And to agree to which direction they will be shooting.

Thank you in advance for any perspectives.

  • a non gun owner, trying to find common and reasonable ground without interfering with others rights to shoot their guns while also ensuring my family and I are safe.

Tactical Ranges in Northeast IN?

My brother in law lives in NE Indiana near Auburn Indiana and I’m going to visit him in a few weeks. I was wondering if there’s any ranges nearby that have tactical bays/course steel targets or even allow holster draws or anything like that? Looking for more than shooting paper while stationary. Even if there maybe a club level 2 gun or 3 gun match nearby I would be down for that.

Thanks!

I was wondering if you could legally buy .50 BMG rounds?

Tag says it all. I couldn’t sleep so I was wondering if an 18 year old with no firearm associated licenses other than a hunters license can legally buy .50 BMG rounds? Even tho I don’t have one but it’d be cool/funny.
