Hello everyone I am looking for a bit of help understanding why I keep getting denied the purchase of a firearm from Sportsman’s Warehouse. It’s odd since I am not a felon or fugitive and the most on my arrest record is driving with a suspended license What else would exclude me from my rights

I must mention that I am too broke to hire a lawyer and I feel I need protection due to issues with break ins. Any and all advice, avenues to persue maybe even throw me a phone number to someone who could help me get my piece of mind back!!

Looking to train with people in Northern NM.

Hey y’all - Looking for people with common interest who want to train with rifle and handguns in northern NM. I find I train harder and better with others but don’t really know many in the area. Thanks.

Moving here soon

Where I’m coming from we have multiple online forums, buy sell pages and the like. I’ve been looking online but these seem very sparse for NM. Where should I be looking?

Neighbor shot into my apartment, seeking advice.

Hi all, I’ve always been pro-gun but grew up in NY so never was able to “get into them” or own one.

I live in ABQ and tonight, my drunk, deranged neighbor and my partner got into an argument due to their noise and 30 minutes later, they fired their gun into their ceiling and it went through my floor into my apartment.

I called the cops and am pressing charges but was wondering a few things:

Does anyone here know which laws they broke by doing that and if it’s grounds for eviction?

I now want to protect myself and was wondering what your first gun purchase was and if anyone had recommendations for self defense?

I’m not planning on carrying in public/ outside of my home so I don’t need a permit of any kind, right?

and finally,

Are there any safety courses etc recommended in the ABQ area?

Thank you!

Also not sure if anyone can identify the gun used from the bullet, but here are some photos of what happened.

HB 129, 7-day waiting period bill, is on the Senate calendar

First, some good news: There was an amendment added that removes the risk of getting stuck in a delay purgatory without a NICS approve or deny; now a transfer can occur on day 30. The amendment also exempts concealed carry holders and FFLs from the 7 day wait.

It now has two steps before getting the governor's signature.

First, a floor vote in the Senate. (If you haven't written your senator yet about this, now is the time to do so!)

Then, it heads back to the House for a vote on the amendments. At this point, it cannot be stopped in the House; if the amendments aren't approved it heads to a conference committee.

Get those e-mails to your senators sent off as soon as you can; especially those of you whose senator is a democrat! Your senator only represents about 50,000 New Mexicans; not even half of them vote; and all 42 senators are up for reelection this year. It might not feel like it, but they read the emails & letters sent to them; minds can be changed.

Hey there everyone. I hope Rally Day went well. How was the crowd? Also, just some updates and my personal critique of the 2nd Amendment Situation.

https://us18.campaign-archive.com/?u=ccaca696560476f9a034b37e7&id=3651629eb6

The Waiting Period Bill was watered down very significantly, and the waiting time was cut in half. I read some social media threads about the mindset of the NM State Reps and Senators on all of the Gun Bills.

The NM Gun Groups have many "birdies" saying that if the Waiting Period Bill was curtailed, cut, and watered down as significantly as it was, It looks like the Gun Ban Proposals are dying on the vine, straight up.

Regardless of whether so or not, keep up the great work and keep it up with Civic Activism everyone..

Good job to the 8 State House Democrats that voted with the GOP against the 7 Day Waiting Period Bill. Still got Blue Dogs there. Gotta keep them their, and primary the Leftists out of Office to be replaced by Blue Dogs; True Democrats. Not the Alexandria Ocasio Cortez types.

NM constitution

Is there any group planning lawsuit from the NM constitution perspective if anything passes?

If not, are there any good lawyers on the matter? Yeah, it's probably too expensive to fathom, though

From the NMSSA; Looks like the NM State House bootlicked the Bloomberg Gun Ban Agenda. Anyone have an idea how the Senate will act on the Semiauto Ban that heads to the House Floor for a final Floor Vote?

If enacted into "Law", HB137 Bans a greater amount of Firearms than the now Defunct Washington DC and Chicago Handgun Bans.

Civilian Firearms Owners, in entirety, are a Political and Cultural enemy of the Democrat Party. If you haven't figured that out by now, you are your own worst enemy.

HB137 / House Judiciary Discussion

Stream here: https://www.krqe.com/new-mexico-legislature-live-stream/

That said... holy hell these people literally have no understanding of what they're trying to regulate.

They're being hassled about how a remington 742 would now be illegal because it'd be gas operated but a detachable mag (yet only 4 rounds).

HB 127 And HB 137

  • On Wednesday 1/31, the House Judiciary Committee will be hearing HB127, the under-21 gun ban, and HB137, the semiautomatic firearm and magazine ban and registry. HB137 would be the most restrictive ban on guns anywhere in the country if it is passed.

Semi auto ban update

AWB passed first committee and goes to house judiciary committee this Wednesday at 1330. Look at nm legis website, ‘whats happening’ find the house committee schedule and you’ll find a zoom link to the meeting. When it passes that committee (it obviously will) it has to go to full house for debate (getting passed on party line vote) then it goes to first senate committee, followed by senate judiciary. Unfortunately, senator joe Cervantes, a democrat on the SJC, just said this week that he believes Bruen will be overturned in 6 months… and he’s the one that usually stops the dumb gin stuff. If you’re not involved…Get involved now. Andrea Romero, Mlg and their crew of flunkies are out for blood this year. Write and call your reps. The nmlegis.gov site has all the info.

Hey, I’m from Texas planning a overlanding trip to New Mexico, and I wanted to take some firearms with me to shoot in the desert. Is there any gun laws I should be aware of before hand ? As I’m used to complete and utter freedom in Texas.

Gun bills in the state house and senate everyone, strap in

A whole slew of bills have been introduced to the state house and in the senate. HB 27, a red flag law exspansion, and HB 114, a bill to make it easier to sue gun buisnesses, passed House Consumer and Public Affairs today. On Thursday the 25th, the same committee will hear HB 127, a ban on gun possession for under 21 people, HB 129, a 14 BUISNESS DAY waiting period, and HB 137, a ban on gas operated rifles and 10 round magazine capacity limit. SJR12 is a proposed ammendment to the state constitution that would end state preemption at the express request of the city council of Santa Fe. Call your reps boys, it’s a bad one.

no gun signs in New Mexico

I live in Texas and plan on making a road trip to Tucson. I have a Texas LTC and want to stay in a motel in New Mexico. I was reading that New Mexico can post no gun signs and they have the force of the law. I wanted to know if it is common for motels to post no gun signs?

A gun from tx . hows that work?

Firearm Question

My buddy works and lives in NM, here as a result of their spouse being military. So out of state resident on their spouses orders in Nm. Their coworker lives in Tx but also works in NM. He has a pistol he is wanting to sell(or gift on paper) to my buddy. He called a shop in Texas and they informed him that if the pistol was “gifted” there is no transfer or paperwork required as Tx does not “register” guns. He said same applies to NM… do nothing. Maybe I just come from an anti-gun state but this sounds funny to me. Can you really just buy a guy from a friend, say it was a gift and do nothing? Not even a single piece of paperwork?

New Mexico Buyback Violations

From what I heard, the group New Mexicans to Prevent Gun Violence seemingly violated NM’s universal background check law as well federal laws like destroying firearms and unregistered SBRs and SBSs. If the group ever gets indicted, it’s a good opportunity to get those charges thrown out as unconstitutional, if the anti-gun group is willing to do so.

Black Rifle fundraiser match at Del Norte gun Club in Rio Rancho on 11/11. Raising funds for the NMSSA to fight the governor's anti-gun agenda.

Registration is now open for our next black rifle match on November 11!

The match will be held on November 11 at 9AM in the pistol bays area of the Del Norte Gun Club.

Proceeds from the match will go to the New Mexico Shooting Sports Association to help fund their fight against the governor’s anti-gun agenda in next year’s legislative session.

Bring your favorite semi-automatic rifle (AR, AK, M1A, FAL, etc) some extra magazines and about 200 rounds. (round count will be finalized later). These matches are a ton of fun and are new shooter friendly. Check out our instagram page to see pictures and videos from previous matches - @delnorte3gun

Please DM me if you have any questions about the match!

We are capping the match at 50 shooters until we get enough volunteers for setup the day before. Let me know if you are available to help set up and you will have the option to shoot the match for free using a separate link. (DM me for the link)

We also need people with RO experience to help RO and score on each squad. Please let me know if you’re willing to help with that.

If you want to shoot this match, please sign up quickly because our black rifle matches tend to fill up quickly. Here is the link to register:
