What would happen if 100 guys got together for a big ass BBQ somewhere and we all constitutionly open carried and had a peaceful BBQ? We gonna stand together and let them arrest us all and fight it in court? Because I'm tired of reading the keyboard warriors
Hey all! I need your advice. I started a 2A news and firearms training YouTube channel (link in bio). Is there anything you don’t see commentator’s or firearm trainers talking about online that you’d like to see?
I put in about a month or so and haven’t heard anything from anyone anybody know the wait timeline for Hillside

I am moving soon within about 3-6 months to a nearby NJ town. Wondering if I move if I can apply & fill out change of address & pistol permit applications at same time so it doesn’t take months waiting for them individually to get approved by new PD. Other option is if I apply now what happens if my township PD takes longer than the 3 months to approve my permits and I move? Last pistol permits took my PD 4 months to approve.
Hi guys, with in the next few months Ill be receiving a lot of old rifles/hand (85% rifles) guns from a friend who can no longer own them do to legal issues. Form what i understand, if i dont take the then the state will destroy them. i dont mind taking ownership even if its just for the sake of not having the state destroy perfectly good tools. But to be honest, i dont care for old guns. Even the young gun shop owner whos helping me do the transfer was looking at the pics as if he was looking at a stash of cassette tapes.
From what i understand places like gunbroker arent an option because im in NJ. What are my options for selling these guns to people who would appreciate them more?
This is just some of the them. Just to give you guys an idea
Not to beat a dead horse and I know lawyers will rec to qualify with each gun to cover you from all of the "what if" doomsday civil liability scenarios, but I qualified for my PTC with a 9mm rental and the range printed the firearm model with "RENTAL" on the State police form. I told them it felt good and that it's what I planned to buy and carry and they claim it's for my benefit (whether or not I agree I am unsure).
However I've since been shooting a 380 at the recommendation of a friend and like it lot more (my first gun) -- ended up buying one. I shouldn't have an issue or need to requalify with the 380 even though my qualification form has another (rental) gun model stamped on it right?
I’m interested in getting a 9mm handgun that I could conceal carry in the future(I don’t plan on staying in Jersey forever) was wondering if yall could just throw out some solid affordable options, preferably under $600 at max but ideally under $400 say what you want but I’m open to other ideas too! Would like to do my own research on some just don’t know what, thanks!
I know with all the cases going on but I'm just looking to see if anyone who has applied for their NYC PTC has received anything either from mail or phone calls just trying to see if they are doing anything about it! TIA
Just curious where everyone at on this? I typically clean them every other range session or 100ish rds.

I recently just got my Permit and am looking to buy a Walther PDP but I'm not quite familiar with the process. Do I purchase from anywhere and then get it shipped to an FFL store for pickup? Also, how would I go about the magazine capacity since NJ only allows 10rd magazines?
I'm looking for the PDP 4.5in Optics Ready and have been finding it mostly for $600 and sometimes $650 before tax and fees. My main goal is to be able to pick it up as soon as possible after checkout, if anyone has any suggestions for a website or store to go to, that would be very appreciated!!!
As the title suggest: is it okay to purchase a SOCOM M4 barrel in 14.5 stripped from everything in NJ? Or does it have to be partially build and/or pin and weld to be purchased? Was interested in building a Colt SOCOM M4 both with a front sight post and one without it.
I posted earlier about my first AR build so take it easy on me I’m a rookie. I bought the magpul fixed stock so I didn’t have to get anything pinned and it’s just a little too short for my liking. Is there anyway to extend it? Or should I bring to a gs and have them pin an extendable to where I want it.
I’ve got a German pistol from the 1920’s (specifically an Ortgies 7.65mm) that seems to be nonfunctional. The trigger doesn’t depress, looking for someone to go through it. I’m located in South Jersey (Atlantic County). If anyone has recommendations that’d be great.
Can anyone point me in the right direction regarding suppressor possession as an active LEO?
Ive read through the law and see that they are exempt if they are ACTIVE LEO. However it’s unclear if this means they are allowed to personally purchase and own a suppressor for duty use, or if they can only posses them if issued by their departments.
Father won a 500 Retrograde in a fund raising lottery. Today he said he wants to gift it to me.
I’d love to acquire it and get in here legally, the gun shop he won it from currently still has it.
Simply how do I do this and not get in trouble?
I have a FID, and only have bought a pistol in NJ back in 2020. No nothing of transferring a firearm across state lines.
I live in the Jersey City area, if that info is relevant and If need to reach out to a local FFL.
First of finally got my FID and pistol permit. Now that I’m ready to make a purchase I’m questioning. Should I purchase a traditional pistol (PSA Dagger) or should I bill an other non nfa like the 7” 300 blackout from PSA also is this NJ compliant?
Went To Duncan Defense and bought my first of I hope many. Took 32 days in Hazlet. Got a full size Echelon.
With all the dispensaries popping up across the state, I’m curious every time I drive by one. I’ve heard from friends that if I have a FID and or apply for a new permit, that I shouldn’t go in or purchase from one as they take your ID down . Anyone have the truth on this?
This is a renewal for a ptc. (I have a nj ptc since 2022 and a nj fid since 1986-yellow card)
Submitted online 11-4-24
4 Refs responded 11-4-24
Trooper requests out of state mental health forms to be signed & an employment verification be sent 12-10-24
Both forms above sent back to NJSP 12-10-24
Trooper claim mental health response from out of state may take 4-6 weeks to get back.
Status pending…does this make it seem like a delay tactic or no?
Just wondering if anybody thinks about this. Not sure how much quieter it would be but in the extremely rare case I ever need to use my firearms in my home, I'd rather not permanently damage my hearing or my family's. What do you guys do? And what ammo would you recommend? I suppose in theory we want hollow point or Hornady Critical Defense but somehow a velocity under 1,100 fps yes? Anything fit the bill for this?
21+ to Purchase Firearms & Parental Responsibility Current New Jersey law allows the purchase and possession of long guns at 18 years old and handguns at 21. Previous attempts in the New Jersey State legislature to change this law were defeated, Fulop, however would make raising the minimum age a priority. Research shows that the developing brains of adolescents and young adults may put them at higher risk of making risky decisions. Hormonal changes can have significant effects on self-control, decision making, emotions, risk-taking behaviors, and aggressive impulses.5 In addition, suicide involving firearms by minors has increased by 81% since 2012. Most active mass shooting incidents are not done by career criminals but rather socially awkward loners who have no access to criminal networks that could provide firearms. Rather, they turn 18, legally buy a gun and use it to commit horrific crimes. It is with these facts, Steve Fulop believes that 21 should be the age for purchase for all firearms. This is a clear area where making it harder to obtain guns would help with minimal effect on other constitutional rights. Furthermore, strong civil and criminal penalties must hold parents responsible for safeguarding firearms from minors. As for hunting, those under the age of 21 can do so with family members.

If your one of those people who are impossible to buy for. I’d like to suggest a new pair of headphones with an embedded mic. This way you can hear what’s going on around you at the range. And be able to communicate better with the guy next to you or in back of you.
Hi everyone,
I’m seeking advice on how to proceed with a frustrating delay in getting my NJ Firearms Identification Permit. I initially submitted my application in October 2023 while I was a dual resident, holding a NY driver’s license but also renting a place in NJ. Despite providing proof of NJ residency, I was told that I needed a NJ driver’s license to complete the application.
In May 2024, I was informed that my application would be canceled unless I provided a NJ license. I submitted my NJ driver’s license on April 25th and again on May 9th to ensure they had it. It was confirmed as received, and I was told that my application would proceed.
Fast forward to October 2024, I reached out again and was informed that my file had been misplaced due to staffing shortages. The officer assured me that my application would be personally addressed that week. However, it is now December 2024—seven months since I submitted my NJ driver’s license—and I still haven’t received my permit.
I followed up via email a month ago but haven’t received a response. At this point, all of my paperwork, fingerprints, and necessary steps were completed over a year ago, and I feel stuck.
Does anyone have advice on how to escalate this or move the process forward without causing friction? Should I contact a higher authority within the department, or is there another route I should take?
I’d really appreciate any insights or suggestions!
