Recently did tactical carbine 1 with tactical fitness austin. Was my first time doing any firearms training. Curious for your experience and if there are any other companies, instructors, and specific courses you would recommend?

I'm primarily looking for carbine, pistol, and medical. Not interested in competition shooting or super basic courses. I spend a few minutes each day dry firing both rifle and handgun already, and have a combined 20-30k rounds over the past ~12 years shooting.

This is probably a long shot, but have any of y’all seen any light-load wadcutter rounds for sale locally?

The usual suspects (Academy, Cabela’s) seem to only have it as special order, but I was hoping to get my hands on some in the next couple days for a range trip…

I’m going to be down in Austin area a lot the next couple of summers for work. Might be bringing my suppressed SBRs with me sometimes. Wanted to know the best ranges in the area (will be just south of Austin).

Also figured I’d ask what shop would carry the Sig MPX K (not copperhead) for sale or may B&T stuff and suppressors. I’ve been looking for an MPX for a while, but nobody local has anything, so I figure I’d browse the gun shops down there over the summer.

I'm not looking to rent one at a range (yet, anyway), I just want to get a feel for the grip angle & point of aim. I live South but I'm willing to drive a bit. I appreciate the help.

Edit: I have shot a P-10F, but this gun would actually be a nightstand gun for my GF when she moves in a couple of months.

She liked the feel of the 365XL grip, but she won't be carrying, so I'm looking for something larger that I can throw a light on for her.

She liked the ergos of the PSA Dagger, but I'm not sure if that's a proven enough platform to trust her life with 10/10 times. It definitely wouldn't be my first choice, even though I've never personally had problems with PSAs.

She has no shooting experience, but has expressed a lot of desire to learn, so we will be making regular range trips so she can get a feel for some different platforms. I'm a big fan of my SP-01 with a TLR-1, but that was a bit heavy for her and I think striker fire would be more accommodating.

The G19 and P-01 were a little large for her to get a solid grip on.

Hello everyone. Looking at moving to either Austin or DFW. Concerned about Austin being more liberal and how it could affect gun laws. I know here in CO where I'm at now they have stricter mag capacity laws and it limits what you can buy. Is Austin similar or is it still Texas?

I’m was recently in a USCCA event here - and can’t believe the questions that some of the “licensed” CHL holders are asking and the comments. Q: Bad guy is outside the car and has a bat, yelling at you. What do you do?

A: 3 CHL holders - shoot through the windshield. Lots of laughs…😡
