I recently bought my first gun from Guns.com and had it shipped to an FFL that was relatively close (Broward county) and had good google reviews. Unfortunately they charged me $75 for transfer and background check (seems high to me), and told me that it would be a 5 business day waiting period from the second I signed the paperwork. From what I gathered it should only be a 3 day waiting period and from time of perchance, so including the shipping time. Meanwhile they complained about online purchases and tried to sell me thier carry permit course so I could skip the wait.
Anyway it kind of rubbed me the wrong way though this could be totally normal and I'm just suffering from my own lack of experience. Does anyone have any FFL's they can recomend, and what I should expect from a good FFL?
I always go to Triple N ranch and love it out there, but just realized Tenoroc is actually 10mins closer to me. Since they’re both FWC, are they basically the same setup? I only use pistol/rifle, never shotgun stuff.
25yds pistol, 100yd rifle, and 200yd rifle (with steel at 200)?
To those that have been to both, which do you prefer?
Im pretty good at spotting scams so those get ignored.
But within the last 2 weeks ive had 10 or so people message about something im selling than absolutely not respond afterwards. Is this some malicious intent/scam im not familiar with?
I’m looking to practice shooting and upgrade my current 2 bullet “stripper gun” but want to try other guns before I buy. Is there a shooting range that lets you try different guns out?
Where around the land o lakes or Lakeland area can I go into the woods, find a berm, and shoot some cans with the boys? I heard any place that’s public land and outside of city limits. But I can’t find an exact spot.
I need some work done, who is reputable with building and repairing AK'S in florida?
Going to be in Tampa next week and have a day to kill till my flight in the evening, was thinking of hitting up a range close to the airport. Don't own a firearm or license.
The few places I called all require two people for a rental (it's a suicide prevention thing, makes sense).
Anyone know of any ranges that don't have this policy? Is it a law in Florida?

I’m looking for gun stores in Southwest Florida that have rental options. I’d like to test out some Beretta and Sig pistols before making a purchase in the future. If you know of any good spots with a decent selection and rental range, let me know!
I'm in Venice in a cookie cutter neighborhood that backs up to forest.
I'm getting hogs digging up the area past my yard next to the forested area.
The hogs have been in other areas in the neighborhood causing problems.
Does anybody know if shooting them is illegal or not?
Thanks
Hey guys, I'm 19 years old and can obviously not buy my own firearm through a dealer, but I was doing some digging and it's a little unclear as for if I'm able to purchase a handgun through a private party, and be legally allowed to own it. Also, would I be able to travel with this gun holstered within the glove compartment of my car? I know I'm able to be gifted a gun and there's no paperwork or anything like that, but if the gifter was worried at all about laws or anything like that, would they be able to buy it, and privately sell it to me, given the correct paperwork?
Also if anyone knows a free attorney service where I can ask these questions, that would be great too lol
Hi all,
I would like to know the rules around owning and using a shotgun at 19 not on your own private property.
I live 50/50 the year in England and Florida and shoot a lot in England with my own shotguns, both game and sporting/skeet and would really like to start over here in FL.
I note you cannot buy a shotgun in FL if you are under 21, however I also understand you can be gifted or inherit one. My father can purchase firearms here in FL, so I assume he could gift me one?
Beyond that I cannot find much online surrounding usage of it not on your own property. I would like to go skeet/sport shooting here by myself, is that possible or do I need someone or a parent over 21?
In addition to this, I have read only you can shoot on your own property if the parcel of land is over 1.25 acres and not in an overly urban area. We live in a rural area on 5 acres, so I assume I could get a clay trap and shoot clays at home here?
Thank you in advance.
If I have registered 40mm grenade launcher and some one break into my house can I just blow up em? And if I have 37mm Firework launcher and I’m gonna use fire work to self defense is it ok?
I'm 18 and living in Miami. I'm a big history buff and want to either get my hands on some antique guns or just look around. I think it is legal for me to own as long as they are classified as antique. I know there is the Fort Myers Antique Gun Show coming up, but I was wondering if there was anything closer to Miami. Are there any shows, or just cool pawn shops or flea markets where there are cool antique guns or artifacts in general?
Bought an Osprey 9 suppressor from QD Specialties at the gun show and I am already approved. It was the last one they had in stock and the only one I have seen available in a store or online for the last few months.
That was so fast for an approval.
I do alot of bank fishing, and just recently started going kayak fishing.... am I going to have to deal with random people calling the cops on me if they see me with a OWB holster with my firearm in it? Or should I just stick with concealed?
Ran to Sam’s club today for the house groceries and what not. I saw an older guy, maybe 50’s, who stood out to me. Long sleeve black shirt tucked into old Army UCP (the old digital camo) pants and some old combat boots. I thought it was strange because typically that’s what you see the panhandlers and others wearing.
I then noticed his gun on his left side. It was an IWB holster but the top part was exposed and clear as day a gun, a Walther PPK. I walked by thinking he didn’t realize and said lowly near him “hey man check your shirt” and this man looks at me and goes “oh thanks” and wipes his shirt like he spilled crumbs on the front. I was confused and I said your guns exposed. He said “Yes” as if it’s by choice. Me trying to be helpful I told him open carry isn’t legal and he just responds with “for you”, while smiling and pointing at me. About that time I realize this guy isn’t firing on all cylinders and he walks away smiling.
He did not have any badges/insignia or anything to show he was law enforcement.
Why people want to behave this way is beyond me. I was baffled my whole trip thinking how this man is going to get the police called on him everywhere he goes. If he was stopped by a cop and acted that way I’m 100% certain he’d find himself in some legal trouble.
Hello i’m a 19Yr M i came to ask would i have trouble traveling from Arkansas to florida with a fire arm that was gifted to me? if so would i need any paper work i know i have to have it in a checked bag in a locked gun box without ammo but would i have any issues at the airport? thanks in advance.
Looking to shot near Parrish FL but want a private range or Atleast a private bay. Anyone have any recommendations? Also im interested in shooting classes can anyone recommend a place that does classes? Thank you.
We all know of Gateway, Saltwater, Tango Down, Gun Gallery & OTS. Not to mention the "Watch your Back" aka Osceola Public Range.
Is there any place else a little more off radar and willing to bring on members? Is Ancient City ever going to reopen or get bought out?
There's so much good land in Jacksonville, and I'm sure there are some more good ranges but to my knowledge they're all private & unadvertised. You basically gotta know someone in this city.
Hello everyone I just had a question on buying lower receivers I currently have a 80% Lower waiting for the jig to come in but a few of my buddies are wanting to hit the range this weekend. I’m 20 in the military so legally I can buy a AR but can I go in the store and buy a stripped receiver and walk out with it or is their a waiting period like pistols
My beloved FIL (father in law) passed away recently. A lifelong resident of NY state, he had amassed quite a selection of handguns and pistols some of which have been in the family for a few generations. All of these were registered to him and to my mother in law.
We live in FL and I don’t currently own any guns/firearms. To keep these in the family, My mother in law would like to gift me these pistols. There are 16 guns in total.
How would we go about this, legally? Do I need to get a license here in FL to be able to accept these, and how does the actual hand off work? Tnx in advance.
Yes, yet another post looking for gunsmith local to them.
Looking to get a barrel threaded if possible, or a new threaded barrel for a Ruger American in .308
Seen on old forums about a few smiths locally but it seems those locations have since shuttered, Jim's mentions "gunsmithing services" on their site but no further information or reply to email/phone calls.
Like the title says id like to start hog hunting but have no idea where to start. i am aware u dont need a license, permit at some locations, and it is allowed year round.
With that being the case, can anyone give me recommendations on where to go and some things I might not be considering?
Im thinking of going to the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes
Hello friends . I wanted to buy my first gun, but the store clerk said I was denied and gave me an appeal form. I have no problems with the police or medical problems either.
I filled out the appeal form , fingerprinted at the location the gun store clerk indicated . I sent it to the FDLE and a few days later I got a letter back with my same appeal inside but there was a new date stamp , I assume they put the date when they received it .
What does that mean? I can't get through to them for a few days.
And I do not understand, they returned the appeal sheet to me because something is wrong in it or everything is fine and I have to wait for their decision ?
My ex had my firearm for several months as she lived in a bad area. I had no use for it so I let her hold onto it until she got her own. She never did and I could honestly careless
I’ve moved on and have a new partner who is very against guns in general. We live in a completely different county and I don’t feel like doing the 5/6 hour drive.
I was debating on getting it back to sell but I’d rather her keep it at this point.
What would I need to do? Would I need to see her in person or is there a form online that I can fill out that can be mailed to her to complete and then it’s her problem to turn it in.
Honestly want to avoid as much contact with her as I can. Thank you!
All the ranges in the central FL area seem to be either old and trashy, super expensive, or a heck of a drive away. Was considering buying an acre or two in the middle of nowhere central FL maybe in Ocala or St. Cloud where my buddies and I can go shoot whenever.
Anyone have experience with this? I'd love to hear your experience! Did you use a RE agent or negotiate direct with the seller? Did you build a burm, and if so how much did it cost you? How much land are you on and will 1 acre in the middle of the woods be enough?
