Good morning ID,
We appreciate the word of mouth some of you have been doing, it's been very helpful.
Anyway, we've been going through our list of colors and we're looking at potentially obtaining a few new ones and we wanted to see what you all like and suggest.
Here is our current list of options:
What class should I take to get my enhanced concealed carry permit. It’s a bit confusing as to what I need to do to get it, any help would be appreciated
Hey all, planning on making the move to ID here in a month or so, we are just waiting for the house to be finished up! I’m coming from Washington, things have gotten too crazy here and now that I’m old enough to purchase guns they decide to become one of the most restrictive states /: I have some questions on the laws there for purchasing firearms, I’ve read through some of the posts on this thread and you guys have been very helpful in answering some of the things I was wondering so thank you all!
The main question I have left is if there is a waiting period after moving into state to purchase firearms? I know I need an Idaho ID card but am not sure if I have to live in state for a certain amount of time or if I can purchase nearly as soon as I get there. Hoping to get a few ARs before the election bc I sure as hell can’t buy them here and I don’t know what craziness will ensue for gun laws if the left ends up winning again this term.
Thank you in advance!
I’m moving out this weekend from Oregon but it seems really quiet in the suburbs. Anyone know groups or people that get out on weekends? Also areas that are good for running around and setting up targets near coeur ‘d Alene?
Does anyone know of any shooting ranges that offer lockers or other options for secure firearm storage in Idaho near Post Falls? Just trying to find a place to securely store firearms that I cannot keep at home. Prefer a shooting range with lockers so I can practice in the same place I store them.
Does Tri State outfitters in Moscow require ID to purchase mags these days? I’ve looked everywhere and just can’t find mine! I’m 48 by the way.
Stiffler Manufacturing was founded by a U.S. Army Combat Medic, as such we offer a 10% Discount to all Firefighters, Paramedics, and Emergency Medical Technicians or similar emergency roles that provide rescue services and trauma care or life saving care to the public.
Check out our newest color of the month, Stormtrooper White featuring the SM19 Flash and SM19 Viper designed to work with the Generation 1-3 Glock 19.
I've slowly been convincing my wife more and more to move to Idaho, it's been a pipe dream of mine ever since I was in boy scouts and took this awesome bike and river rafting trip in Idaho and I was even more amazed going to some little small town tourist trap gift shop in Wallace Idaho and seeing AK47s on the wall for sale. It kinda set in my brain that Idaho's where I needed to be lol.
We live in Washington right now where the gun laws are pretty brutal. It's not even much fun to go to local gun shows anymore because it's so inconvenient for them to have to send what I want to my FFL where I can show them my certificate for firearm safety then do a backgrounds check then go through a 10 day waiting period, and half of the stuff they can't even sell because the guns are banned.
Nothing's set in stone yet, but if we did move, what are the laws like for purchasing guns? From my understanding, private sales require no background check or anything, dealers do and that's pretty much it? I've been going through this reddit and reading up, but is there anything a new resident would know before going out to buy? Also are there any weird restrictions to be aware of? Shooting is my main hobby so I'd hate to make the move only to find out the laws aren't what I thought they were.
I’ve recently acquired a Mosin Nagant and lots of 7.62x54R, but it’s the surplus stuff - steel core. I’m in the Treasure Valley and don’t really know what to do with it since it’s not permitted at ranges around here, and from what I’ve read not allowed on BLM land during certain months.
Greetings,
We are Stiffler Manufacturing, a slide manufacturer for DIY style builds for the Gen 1-3 Glock 19 in Arizona.
We are looking into reaching out to gun shops, vendors, distributors, and of course individual buyers in the Idaho community.
We've already started looking around Boise if you have recommendations.
Thank you for your time.
Anybody in here do South East Idaho Practical Shooting? I'm interested in checking out a match as a spectator and possibly joining later.
I'm looking to apply for my concealed carry permit as a non-resident. Does anyone know which counties (if any) accept mail in applications?
Given the state of Washington, and the direction it has been going, I've been more heavily considering moving to Idaho. I'm curious if I moved to Idaho from Washington, would I be considered a Washington state resident until I've lived in Idaho for a year? I'm interested in semi-auto rifles, and would love to take some classes in use along with some marksmanship classes, as I would like to eventually buy one. Wondering if just having an address in Idaho would be good enough for me.
Hi, there is a pact with involve masonic lodges to ban weapons?, based on threats like Iowa people. The gov cant apply hurting things against citizens.
This is we see in nezxt years
Or is a long rifle the only option. I have a Canadian licence to own a non restricted fire arm. I come from a land of very restrictive gun laws so I am genuinely curious. I have sold my deceased brother in laws guns very easily for cash in Boise ( My sister would not let me keep any ) without any issue.
So I have been living in Idaho for about 5 years now. My wifi and her family have been here their whole lives. Love the place.
I always went shooting with friends growing up, but I never was all that familiar the laws associated with everything.
Went to a well-known store in the valley and saw a SBSs that I liked a lot. I did some fast research online and found some conflicting information (or confusing to say the list) saying it was consider a NFA item, some saying that in the state of ID it was not consider a NFA item. I asked the one of the representatives really fast in the store and he said if I have a valid license and pass the check I could buy it right there and then without the need of any tax stamps, registration, etc.
So as impulsive and excited I was I did, now I'm the proud owner of a really cool SBSs, but I was still somewhat conflicted with what I read online.
In short what I understand is this:
By state laws, ID doesn't give a fuck if it's considered a NFA item so I can buy it given I meet the requirements for the purchase BUTTTTTTTTTT....... the Federal government don't care about that, and they would require me to report the item and pay the taxes on it.
Is this correct?
Appreciate any help in advance, again I'm pretty new to this and want to make sure I respect the laws (regardless of how irrational they might be).
where can i shoot targets from 300 yards away ideally near boise? pleasant valley doesn’t seem to be good for that far and george nourse only has ~50-75 yards
