Has anyone played the new Delta Force game? I feel like their model of the mini is pretty on point. đź‘Ť
I was waiting for warmer weather to simultaneously show an accuracy report on this after a barrel break-in, but couldn’t wait to share this DMR build I had Accuracy Systems help me out with.
It will be coming along to some gas gun competitions this spring if all goes well.
For now I’m just obsessively looking at it every day until the snow melts.
Basic Build List:
Drop In Parts:
Weights 17.8 lbs with a fully loaded 20 Rd magazine and balances just in front of the magazine well.
I think this should resolve the height over bore problem with the mini somewhat.
Evening everyone,
Just picked up my mini, can't wait to try it. I noticed it came with a small rail for optics in the box. It looks like if I mount anythin on it, I would not be able to use the iron sights. Can anyone please suggest a setup that would allow the use of both scope (red dot) and iron sights? Thanks in advance.
We did a frt, for three guns that the gun grabbers really don’t look at. They are all based on the same rifle. Take a guess. The mini 14 variant uses the same parts kit as the other rifle. Your ac-556 build is near complete. There’s a patent going up and we are gonna price lower than any company that tries to copycat. Fair dinkum mates.
Friend has a trijacon Acog they want to get rid of and I’m curious if anyone has put one on their mini. Ive seen red dots but am curious about Acog’s. No question about mounting just weather or not you like it with the mini/ any issues
I am a new shooter in a very restricted state. Sensing the fleeting legality of the Mini-14 I figured I should hurry up and get one before another domino falls.
Excited to finally shoot it once the waiting period is over…
So I’m thinking about getting a Mini 14 soon and specifically have been wanting the tactical version that has the folding stock(A-team/PUBG look). I’ve done some research and I just to confirm that it is sadly illegal to own this version in California.
From what I’ve read the pistol grip, folding stock, and flash hider all make it illegal to own in California correct?
For example this F.A.B. Defense Ultimag PMC Pentagon Magazine Coupler Kit - would this fit Ruger Mini 14 10 rd mags since it's designed to fit AR-15 10 rd mags and both are 5.56?
I know the tops of AR-15 mags and Mini 14 mags are different but if this coupler holds the mags at the bottom, shouldn't it fit?
Also, are there any other good solutions to coupling 10 rd mags (I'm in a mag cap limited state)? The mags aren't very high, not sure if there's room to even duct tape them, assuming that's legal?
Newer gun owner here, sorry if I'm asking obvious questions or using the wrong terms, happy to adjust.
Good morning all, soon to be Mini 14 owner. Picking it up as soon as NICS comes back.
I am in NJ and the rifle comes with 2 20 rd magazines, which shop has to pin to 10 in order to sell it to me. However this rifle is going to live in my other place in Florida, taking it next time I drive down there. Once there, I want to unpin the magazine to original capacity. I can't find a tutorial - lots of them for ARs and pistols. Is this easy to do, as in worth the effort or should I just get new mags? They are much more expensive than AR magazines, so I figured I'd ask
Thank you in advance.
Hey folks, hope your days are going well
I’m thinking of throwing a can on my trusty mini 14 in .223/.556 and I’m curious about y’all’s experiences. My understanding based on convos on here is that an adjustable gas block in tandem with the suppressor is the way to go, as well as/instead of a new bushing.
I’m curious about specific suppressor brands/models that have worked well for you too!
Thanks!
Hello. New to the mini 14 fam and rifles all together. Love the functionality and look of the mini though I think it would just look cooler w a flash suppressor. Something closer to the tactical model. Not really looking to make it louder(per what I’ve read) so probably not a muzzle brake. Mostly just for looks. Any suggestions? Thanks
Left is promag, right is ruger. I will say the pro mag did run like butter until it sheered the hinge.
I'm looking at Mini-14s right now and was eyeing a stainless ranch and was hoping to add the Samson Hannibal rail for a cheek weld dot while using the high-sitting, side-mounted GG&G rail (https://www.gggaz.com/mini-14-scope-mount-silver.html) for a chin weld LPVO but I am surprised to see GG&G claim that the mount is not compatible with ranch versions of the Mini-14. Looking at Ruger's site and doing some research online it seems like there are no meaningful differences between the ranch and tactical these days as far as this mount would be concerned.
I've reached out to GG&G but haven't heard back so I'm in the dark. Does anyone here have experience fitting one of these to a new ranch rifle or if there are nuanced differences in the receivers for current models of the Mini-14 that I'm just not seeing?
I bought my Mini Thirty second hand without the factory picatinny rail that Ruger distributed them with. Is there anywhere I could find one aftermarket?
This is my Hannibal Rail with a Crimson Trace red/green dot. It works well out to 100 yards. The stock peep windage screws would not stay tight so I opted for this instead. Overall I am happy with this setup. The stock is a Hogue.
What optics are you using on a Hannibal rail or something similar? I'm looking specifically for forward mounted optics.
I have a Hannibal rail and would like to put an optic on it, but I'm curious what others are using. I like flush mounting and keeping it lower is better for me
Pics would be great if you have em. Thanks
With my personal threat o’ meter at a decades high this week I decided to up my every day carry and pack a long gun along for the duration while going into the dystopian paradise that is the San Francisco Bay Area. While not Pinterest worthy I thought I would leave this here.
Hi folks-
So, new mini 14, and old eyes. Ordered a 3-7x32mm, but it’s on back order and Optics Planet has a 3-9x40 in stock. Somewhere I read the largest you can fit is 32mm, but I can’t find that anymore. Will the 40mm fit? Both are 1” tube diameter. Thanks!
I’m 20, soon be 21 and I’m shopping for my birthday present. Don’t have any serious battle rifle yet (I have a Mosin and a couple .22’s) so I want a solid one as my first. Leaning towards a mini-thirty currently because I’m partial to 7.62 as a defensive round. My Dad has a mini 14 and an AR15 he says either one is a good choice just practice and be proficient with it. Overall I just think the 7.62 is more effective against most targets and if penetration is the concern I think you would want more than a 223 anyway. Then there’s the added benefit of plentiful cheap steel cased ammo. Overall I just prefer the old school mini. The charging handle, mag release, and the grip just feel more natural to me. Can y’all tell me any reason I should shy away from the 7.62 mini thirty?

Anybody have anything of theirs? Considering..
Bought one forever ago at a good price and should put it into use as it is a good looking thing, but curious to see if others are using and how they hold up.
Post up some pics if you can.
