Looking for places to shoot

As the title suggests, I’m looking for friends/fellow shooters who may have land and or know someone with land willing to let me shoot on lol. I know this is an odd request but most public ranges don’t allow for any sort of timed shooting drills or a way to practice shooting drills of almost any kind. Gun clubs also tend to be very exclusive and pricey as well. I live near the Springfield area if this helps.

Anyone have any experience with purchasing thru them? Did you feel like you got a reasonable deal? Any feedback appreciated.

Looking for a good deal on a used hunting shotgun

Kinda leaning towards an inertia 12ga, reason being, well, there isn't much of a reason.

Going to be for turkey or pheasants or clays. Any decent stores I should check out prone to having a good used collection?

I check showmeguns and armslist. Showmeguns dot com is a good private gun sale resource for the uninitiated in Missouri.

New to the forum so sorry if this gets asked a lot

Couldn't find any info on if this was legal to own in America or Missouri specifically yet. Was looking for a sawn off semi auto and this looks perfect but am I even legally allowed to own a sawn off? I know the shockwave exists because of a grey area but I see no reason why if I can own an actual double barrel shotgun why I couldn't own this.

Kanas city Shooting ranges

I moved to KCMO recently and I didn’t realize how spoiled I was with my local shooting range and I’m having problems finding one that allows or comes close to the same thing so I’m looking for a range(s) that allow/has the following

A long distance rifle range (preferably 1000+) Allows controlled rapid fire A pistol and rifle range with multi gongs or something similar Puts on events/completions (my old range had a mile knock out tournament, .22 shootout, shoot house and uspsa style events monthly)

Looking for Gerard buddies in the St Louis metro area

Just moved here to the St Louis Missouri area… looking for friends to go shooting with, exchange tactical gear advice, camp and be all around buddies with. lol

Def a noob here so I’m not claiming to be some Gucci gear stud.

29M here if it matters.

Anyone shot at Top Gun Sportsman’s Club in Londell, MO? Worth the $80 a month?

Considering a membership with the outdoor shooting range, but wanted some input. Thanks and safe shooting out there.

FFL transfer fees Lincoln County

Was curious what the current fees are around Lincoln county area. Last time I checked it varied wildly up to $30-40 per item.

Anyone got any suggestions or know what places have more reasonable pricing?

What happened to r/KCguns?

r/KCguns -- Where'd it go?

It was a pretty small and inactive sub but it was still useful to see posts every week or so. I even found out about a range that I enjoy from a post there (Golden Valley -- well worth the drive for me vs. Pigeon Hill. If you've been to both, you probably understand). For those of us on the edge of KS/MO, it was a good resource to find out about local range recommendations.

Does anyone know what happened to it? It's been restricted for a month or more and I don't remember it getting spammed with sketchy posts or anything like that.

Please delete if this is not applicable.

Edit: I did the same request-to-join again and got approved the next day, looks like everything is marked NSFW so who knows if Reddit flagged them or something.

Looking for Shotgun Rental Range

Does anyone know of a shotgun range near Saint Louis that has rentals? I am looking to get into sporting clays and there is so much information online about different styles of guns it would be nice to get some hands on experience.

PSA: Do not do constitutional carry in school zones

Hopefully everyone knows state law forbids carry into a school or school function, being a crime without a recognized carry permit. My understanding is under MO state law that would cover bringing a gun onto school property or on property being used for a school sponsored function.

Not a lawyer, but my understanding of the federal GFSA is that a school zone is anywhere on school property or within 1k feet of school property (except for private property in that zone). I just want to point out that 1000 ft is a couple city blocks in some places, so in theory you can be doing innocent constitutional carry walking on a sidewalk or driving near a school and violate the GFSA if you don't have a permit.

This is probably a duh moment for rural people but in urban areas school grounds meld into the city, so you can easily be within 1k ft of a small school and not realize it.

Just in case anyone can't read: I have no desire in taking any weapon to a school. I incidentally go near-ish schools in the course of travel like any member of society. Yes i have a valid carry permit.

50yd Indoor Range near STL (22LR)?

Looking for 50yd INDOOR range in the STL area to shoot 22LR, I'm only seeing 25yd INDOOR ranges but am hoping I'm mistaken.

UPDATE: After a fairly exhaustive search the only 50 yard INDOOR range I could find is near KC, looks like a nice place.

Does anyone know of a store in the STL area with a wide range of sticky holsters in stock?

I’m trying to find the perfect fit for two pistols not listed on the sticky website. FTR I need to fit a new 2024 staccato C and a hellcat pro with an aftermarket comp.

Selling Guns

Live in Missouri and would preferably like to sell within the state for ease of sale.

What’s the best way you guys have found to sell? Have a AR9 and 300 Blackout I’m trying to offload.

I stopped by a local gun store just to see what they would give me and they offered me less for the 300 Blackout than the optic on it was even worth.

Both guns would be sold as is, with ammo/mags.

Will I fail a background check if I have been to rehab voluntarirly?

Last year I went to rehab twice, both for about 35 days, it was out of state (Florida).

When I was there I was diagnosed with many many things, but most notably CPTSD, BPD, and Major Depressive Disorder.

I'm better now, but would I be completely disqualified from purchasing a firearm? Not sure how the background check works or how thorough it is.

Legal Non-Immigrant Visa Holders Purchasing Firearms with a Hunting License - Experiences and Advice?

I'm currently in the U.S. on a work visa and am interested in purchasing a firearm for sport shooting. I came across the ATF exception that allows legal non-immigrant visa holders to buy firearms if they have a valid hunting license.

I'm curious if anyone else in a similar situation has successfully purchased a firearm this way. If so, what was your experience like? Were there any particular challenges or issues you encountered during the process?

I'm looking to use the firearm strictly for sport and hunting purposes. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Legal to store a gun in your vehicle?

Like others, I’m finding it a little challenging to untangle Missouri law when it comes to guns in cars. But if I’m understanding it correctly, the idea is that it’s legal to have a gun on your person, and if your person is in a car, then it’s legal to have the gun in your car. But really only because it’s with you. If you leave the car, the gun needs to go with you. Maybe not to get gas or something, but say when you get to your destination, or home, or whatever. And if the gun does stay in the car, it needs to be locked up in car, not just let’s say under the seat or something. Am I getting the gist here?
