How I Met Your Mother is probably the best sitcom when it comes to delivering powerful/emotional moments. So my question to all of you is which dramatic moment was your favorite for each main character. I'll start off:

Ted: "Face it Ted, your all alone." Season 8 Episode 20. Time Travelers.

Robin: When she realizes she can't have kids. Season 7 Episode 12 Symphony of Illumination.

Marshall: Marvin's Funeral. Season 6 Episode 14 Last Words

Lily: When she confesses the struggles of being a mother. Season 8 Episode 13 Band or DJ.

Barney: "If you were gonna be some lame suburban dad why couldn't have been that for me?" Season 6 Episode 19 Legendaddy.

I know most of mine are kind of bland cause their pretty popular. So extra points if you can bring up a moment that isnt talked about enough.

The music, dialog, everything about this scene was amazing!!

I am on my millionth watch of the series and we see at one point Stella and Tony running into Ted. She goes and taps him in the shoulder to say hi. I mean , she left him at the altar and broke his heart, why would she casually go to say hello???

Okay, this post might be premature because I'm only on episode 10, but is the entire season seriously at Barney and Robins wedding?????? I have seen people talk about being unhappy with the ending but i wasn't expecting to be disappointed before I even got there 😭

I don't even necessarily dislike the season so far but it feels like I'm being cheated out of a true season of HIMYM.

Such an incredible episode. It’s the one where Robin believes she’s pregnant with Barney’s kid and finds out that she actually can’t have kids at all. It is such a powerful portrayal of the complex feelings of grief that can come when you really don’t expect them.

Why didn’t Marshall at least call her? There is no excuse for this. Also Marvin’s crib was a death trap.

Rewatching the show for the first time in longer than I should admit. In the interim, I started curling. I didn’t realize how many references there are to the sport throughout the show.

That is all.

My partner keeps telling me it’s actually very entertaining for what it is, nothing too special, a perfect show for “background noise” as she puts it, it got 2 seasons, at the very least it’s serviceable

Has anyone else noticed any similarity betweem these two guys?

I just saw a picture of Jesse Watters and it immediately struck me how similar they look, and it made me wonder if it was intentional.

They're both controversial/problematic TV news host, and more importantly, his last name is "Waters" and Sandy's is "Rivers," which seems way too similar to be a coincidence.

Has anyone else noticed or mentioned this similarity, or am I just overthinking it?

I empathize with her here, I get that Kevin answered her question of “why do you like me” so much more selflessly and out of true love rather than Barney’s more selfish kinda insulting way but idk. Why would she wait until they were together and not send him a text first? And it is just truly awful to see Barney getting the rose petals after she rejected him. I understand robins decision but it really makes me dislike her more as a character tbh

Barney and robbin shouldn't of got divorced and the mother shouldn't of died. Would of removed barney going back to his former self and everyone getting their happy ending.

So let’s talk about Victoria’s big mistake in How I Met Your Mother. She gave Ted an ultimatum—if he wanted to marry her, he had to cut Robin out of his life completely. Ted, being Ted, couldn't do it. But here’s the kicker: After Ted married Tracy, Robin distanced herself anyway.

So... what was the point of the ultimatum? If Victoria had just played it cool and let things unfold naturally, she might have won. Instead, she forced the issue, pushed Ted away, and lost everything.

It makes you wonder—was she really in love with Ted, or was she just insecure about Robin? And did she actually need him to cut ties, or was she just impatient?
