I have a vintage (1944) PP I want to restore to full working order and be in ccw condition if need be. No I don't care about increasing or decreasing it's value because I will never sell it in my lifetime and I have at least half a century left in me. I know Walther is supposedly selling new .32 ACP PPs but I can't find them anywhere and I think it's probably cheaper to just buy replacement parts and to restore the one I already have.
I know Wolff sells new springs for the older PP models and Mec gar still makes the vintage magazines so I'm not worried about those parts, but is there anywhere I can get NEW internals (extractor, firing pin, etc)? I took it to the range last week and shot 73gr S&B hardball through it and it gave me failures to extract every time. I want to change that.
I'm aware of Taylor and Lok making "medium" weighted backstraps for the PDP, but I haven't seen any in the large size. Are they just not available due to the extra surface by the beavertail, or am I just not looking in the right place?

Had a chance to handle the PD 380 at the local shop the other day. Really nice and fit the hand well. But, the size of the gun in relation to the capacity doesn't work for me. I don't think .380s need to be small. The PD 380 seems like it would be a great/range target gun. To carry something the same size I would definitely need more capacity.
Shot 300 rounds combined through these today! S&W M&P 2.0 5” and Full Size PDP 4.5”. I believe the whole “snappy” persona the PDP receives is a little over blown. While my dot did bounce around more with the PDP, it was noticeably quicker to return to target. The S&W while noticeably smoother, seemed to track slower overall. I was thoroughly impressed with the PDP considering this is the first time I’ve been able to shoot one, while having around 1-2K on the S&W platform.
I’m looking for a platform to replace my longtime Glock love affair, and I think the PDP might just be it! Now I gotta find out which model I want, as this PDP is my pops lol.
I had a tough time finding magazine baseplates for the LokGrips Magwell. Here are the only 3 that have been confirmed to work and allow the magazine body to fully seat.

LokGrips +0, Factory 18 round SD Pro compact magazine, Taran Tactical +5 baseplate on the 15 round walther compact magazine body.
Has anyone else experienced issues with fully loaded PDP magazines? Mine are very difficult to insert into the gun, and then they get stuck and won't release until after I rack a round. There are no issues if the magazines are loaded -1 from full capacity.
I currently have the PDP Pro Compact and I only use it as a range toy. I might run some competitions with it down the road. I love the trigger on it, but I'm curious if it can be tuned to be even lighter. It's it possible to get it to sub-3 lbs?
How the hell do you know if you're buying a Gen 1 or Gen 2 online? Because you don't know the serial # and websites don't take pictures of the slide cut cover off.
Hello,
French redditor here,
I bought my first Walther PDP Pro SD (full seize) a few days ago and accessorized it with a ZR Tactical Solutions brass ultramass guide rod and ZR tactical springs (for normal and suppressed use).
I also put a Surefire X400 Ultra with a green laser, a Steiner MPS red dot sight, Trijicon suppressor height night sights.
I also brought a 9x19mm B&T Impuls IIA Suppressor to put on the Walther.
So what do you think of it fellow redditors?
B.T.W: Do you know where I can find a good holster for my PDP?
Best regards and greetings from France.
I have a Walther Creed 9mm. Are there and red dots sights out there that I can mount on it?
Walther and PMM have this list of ammo brands in various weights that are recommended and not recommended for use on the PDP Pro-X. Have you run ammo from these lists? What was your experience? I figure the manufacturer's list is not meant to be exhaustive, and there are likely a lot of other good brands out there that work well in this slightly finicky gun.
I've put about 500 rounds of S&B 115gr through my Pro-X so far. The first 100 rounds or so were terrible with several failures on its maiden voyage to the range, but they've been great since with zero issues. Still a completely stock gun, no cleaning or lubrication yet. I am getting a bit of brass glitter in my slide and a brass smudge on the left side of my trigger shoe, but some have said this is normal.
Is this actually in stock anywhere ?
Bought one for my edc. Love it except for the fact that it is big and heavy. Anyone carry this daily?
I picked one up finally, I think they also had a discount code available. It was online somewhere but it took like 10 percent off
My fingers are fucked. I have a blood blister on my palm. I hate this thing. I've seen every video, read every forum post. I'm doing exactly what they are doing but it will NOT come off.
I'm a very dextrous person with above average hand strength. I literally cannot get it.
Update: I visited my range and one of the dudes behind the counter helped me. It took all 4 of our hands, and even then it was slightly jammed. Either I fucked it up a tiny bit with all my attempts, or it's very slightly out of tolerance or something. We got it though.
if i shake the gun slighty its making noises liek the spring is loose . is there any fix for it or is it normal ?
So picked up my PDP today, really excited about it after reading all the good words on the reddit here on the model. So far really feels great and 3 backstraps was a nice inclusion but little bummed it didn't come with any plates but can order one from Walther. I can understand adding all the plates probably not worth cost. My WMP came with 3 I think, I never have found anything to use Crimson Trace CTS 1550... Anyway
So impressed so far and awesome case came with the handgun also. Pleased, will be shooting this weekend hope I am pleased then also! Slide is a bit stiff but I will get used to it.
Its dark green but phone deciding it is FDE or something!🤷
I need to finally break down and get the TF mag extensions for my PDP 18 round mags. Anyone hear anything about TF possibly doing any type of Black Friday sale? Have they ever done them in the past? Back strap, Mag well and mag extensions are going to be some serious coin and I am hoping to get them on sale sometime this month. A man can dream can't he?
I've been waiting to get a Walther for approximately 10 years, but was unable because all of my income went to savings for higher education. I've also been moving all over the US for that schooling, and I didn't want to deal with the hassle of bringing guns to brand new states with different rules.
I'm finally graduated and working, which means I can make this happen. My plan was originally to get a P99, but that changed when the PPQ dropped, and it changed again when the PDP dropped.
Tomorrow I finally get to go pick up my compact 4-inch.
Just ordered a Pro E Compact to complement my SF and saw a post advertising a free CH direct mount dot with a receipt from Nov 1 to Dec 31. I also ordered the SCS to go on it and am wondering if I should just cancel that order and get the free CH dot. Unsure what their quality control looks like with their dots. I do know their plates are kind of hit or miss sometimes. I know that Holosun has the occasional lemon, but it seems overall their QC has been consistent in recent years, so I'm hesitant to bet my life throwing the CH dot on a carry gun. Thoughts?
Anyone else shoot stages from appendix and plain clothes? I've noticed the old heads don't care for it too much but it's the only way I shoot matches. Even if I'm not going to be the fastest, because guys are using belts and race guns and grip chalk, I'd rather use USPSA as a training tool than an actual competition. Gear: Tier 1 MSP holster and mag carrier Q5 SF Pro RMR Holosun PiD
Looking into getting a Walther 4in PDP F Series Pro but trying to decide if the Pro trigger is worth the extra money. Anyone do a side by side comparison on a regular PDP or PDP F series vs the PDP Pro or PDP F Series Pro. Have watched a few videos on YouTube on the F Series but there’s nothing I can find comparing the triggers.
So, I've had my new PDP SF Match for a month, probably 1500 rounds or so. I put in the ZR Tactical long-stroke guide rod 2 weeks ago. It is a definate change for the pistol, the recoil is amazing. I love the effect of the longer blowback stroke.
Anyway, I noticed cleaning the last couple times (every 300-500 rounds just because I'm a nerd) tons of brass dust in the front part of the frame and in the guide rod hole in the slide. This last run I put a bit of grease on the bushing exterior (gun glue) thinking it would help the bushing stay seated in the slide and prevent as drastic wear. This is after 8 magazines (160 rounds) from clean:
Here's the front of the slide bushing location:
And the bushing itself:
Now, it just seems like the bushing isn't staying seated in the slide and chatters around and wears every time the slide cycles. I expect the interior of the bushing to wear, obviously, as the guide rod cycles. But I am suspicious of the amount of wear and the rate on the outside of the bushing.
The last time I cleaned the gun it was just fine brass powder everywhere in the front of the frame interior. The grease I put on the bushing exterior changed the way it looks but didn't seem to help.
I ordered a long-stroke service kit and new brass bushings. I noticed you can get steel bushings, which would stop the brass powder but if this is normal wear I'd hate to be chowdering out the front of my slide rather than the bushing.
Is this normal? Or do I have some sort of other issue?
Think the light it going to go. Don’t like how it works or looks. Maybe on my P30sk.
Do you any of you ever just blow a load on your gun? Is there any good reason someone would do that?
