I'm voting for Lindstrom I think... Pillen and Herbster are making the republican party look like a joke. I can't deal with it! So sad 😞
With the announcement of Sen. Blood's bid for Governor, I am curious what people's thoughts are in regards what would have to happen for a Democrat to become Governor.
My best guess would be for a Herbster-type Republican to run as a third party candidate and siphon off a large percentage of the Republican Party's nominee. Pair that with a popular moderate Democrat (not sure what this would even look like) and maybe we could get the perfect storm to have a Democrat be viable for the Governorship
Thoughts?
State Senator Adam Morfeld once said to me that Democratic and moderate Republican senators don’t get enough credit for stopping bad legislation. In the most recent session, approximately 21 or 22 senators could be counted on to stand up to Pete Ricketts. That means that the radical right controls 28 to 29 seats. The magic number for the extreme right is 33 — that’s the number of votes required to end a filibuster.
The 2022 election will be an important cycle since the far right has a path to 33 seats. Due to term limits, five seats currently held by moderate Republicans will be open seats. Usually in deep red districts, the contest comes down to a moderate Republican and an extremist. In addition, two seats held by the Democrats are in jeopardy.

Hi! My name is Gorka and I’m a student at Georgetown University. I’m currently doing an investigation for a class about opinions that are related to statements that are widespread in the USA. The survey is anonymous and it only takes 10 minutes. Anyone over 18 years old and who currently lives in the USA can participate. Thank you for your help! You can share the link to get more participants!
This will be the first of the surveys sent to help with this project. Following the final tabulation of all results, I will send you all of your data and the interpretation of all results. As such, this survey will request an email address for me to send the remaining information to. I will send you a total of eight emails, the party platforms, the announcement of the end of primaries and the finalized candidates, a one-question poll, results of the poll, a ballot, a reminder of the ballot being due, and a final satisfaction survey. There will only be three other surveys to fill out with the first one being by far the largest one. If you request it, you will be sent the results of the study, even if you are not chosen. If you take this first survey I will use an appropriate apportionment of individuals based on your state of origin, birth sex, and racial identity to create a sample that shares close proximity to the United States regarding these things.
THE STUDY IS NOT CENTERED ON WHO WINS, BUT THE DIFFERENCE IN ELECTION RESULTS AND SATISFACTION
This is a simulated 2024 election with no incumbents or former presidents running to eliminate incumbency bias. The simulation is centered around a multi-party system with eight political parties, four on the left and four on the right. You are absolutely allowed/encouraged to treat this as you would any other presidential election.
Thank you so much for anyone who does it and I will respond to any questions here as quickly as I can.
