Mines going absolutely delightful
It's a SYM JET4R 50cc
Hi all,
As we are getting closer to the season (at least here in Europe) I feel like we need to create a great playlist that we can play when riding. So please add your best riding tunes to this playlist! You find the link to the Spotify Playlist here!
Hello to everybody,
Who has a BMW S1000R, could you please share your city fuel consumption?
In my case I have 9L/100km or 26MPG (aggressive riding)
I was riding my motorcycle on the middle of 3 lanes at around 7am, so the roads were pretty quiet. I had a row of trucks on the right lane, a car about 200 meters behind me, and nothing in front of me either on the middle or the left lane. A white sedan comes from behind on the left lane going very fast. I see it coming in my mirror and pay it the normal amount of attention since we're not on the same lane. Since I drive a pretty big bike, wear a yellow reflective vest plus reflective strips on my saddle bags, I'm very visible. The car came up very fast, pulled up next to me, adjusted to my speed, and then all the sudden, without blinkers on, crossed over to my lane while his rear tires were aligned with my front tire.
Luckily I automatically veer to the furthest edge of my lane when I'm being overtaken by either a big truck or a fast car, so I was far away from the car and managed to break before he hit me. When I lifted my arm to say "wtf" he pushed the break very aggressively, luckily I was now in the right lane so he completely missed me. Then he sped up and raced off with what must've been 150 m/h.
I was only on the road for maybe 5 minutes when that happened, and I hadn't crossed anyone, so I'm pretty sure this wasn't a revenge for something that happened earlier. When I told my colleagues what happened they said "oh he was probably texting" and "that happened to me once when I sneezed while driving". I feel they're completely gaslighting my experience and justifying the behavior of this guy that was clearly trying to kill me. /rant over.
Stay safe out there guys!
I have a Kawasaki er6-n 2009 and i just got this slipon lXIL exhaust but the pipe diameter is smaller (38mm) and on my bike its 51mm. Im not looking for performance boost or anything i just want a nicer sounding bike, but im worried will it cause any problems if i get a 38mm-51mm converter and put it on my bike anyways.
2018 CBR300R, I am mostly using it to the store or weekend drives and I’ve been in situations where i need to carry some food or drinks so I’m thinking if it’s better if i purchase a backpack or a saddle bag to put on my rear seat. Want opinions from you guys. Thanks!
So my gf and I decided to take the plunge and sign up for a MSF course, something we have both wanted to do for a while and we are super excited. My dilemma comes in when trying to find a potential future bike for her to get. I have a decent idea what I want to go look at with the only thing being I'm a fairly big human(6'4" 195lbs) which I don't think will be a big issue. The problem I'm running into is finding something she will like that will fit her, she's 4'10" and 90lbs with a 28"1/4 inseam. She has never really been interested in a low slung cruiser, so basically I'm looking for any recommendations in the sport/naked category that either come with a lower seat height or could be modified in any way to achieve that, or even if any shorter riders have any tips or tricks for her, thick shoes, or any input at all really. I want to make this perfect for her as looking at bikes together I can tell she is getting slightly discouraged with how limited it seems she is as far as what she could fit on.
So a new RS goes for about $3k more than the R. From what I understand the RS gets you a little more power, a little more brake, and better suspension (+ few other bells and whistles).
I don’t know much about suspension. I’m wondering if the extra money is worth going for the RS? Alternatively, there are some used RSs available for around the same price as a new R. Just a couple years older with extra miles on em (<10k).
Curious to be convinced one way or another. This would be my second bike having ridden a naked 400 for nearly 2 years.
I want to race motorcycles at a high level. I am 21 years old. I would say I am highly connected to my body and very athletic. I love intensity and competition. I love charging big waves on the north shore of Hawaii. I have money. I will put myself in situations that are dangerous to be the best. How far could I take a motorcycle career starting at 21 years old? How fast could I possibly be better than average on a track to race given I infinite time to dispose? I am a high level surfer, baseball player, snowboarder, and biker. I am 5'8 150 pounds. I have moved to Hawaii and have been surfing north shore in the winter in intense conditions. never grew up in these conditions in California. I would move back to California to pursue my dream of racing motorcycles. I have the passion, money, determination and grit to do anything I want. I say it is possible but no ones seems to agree being I am 21 already. Who agrees its possible?
Hello everyone,
I am torn between the two in the title.
What bothers me is that my driving will be too urban, approx. 90-95% of the time, so I'm not sure if this would be a good choice. I like the Vulcan more (looks, more power, etc) but I've read that the Rebel is better for the city because of the handling.
Does anyone have experience with them in the city?
I'm gonna buy a ktm 1190 adventure R next week and was wondering... the wheels are spoke wheels but i think they are tubeless?
Ive changed hundreds of dirtbikes/small dualsports tires and will do one in 15 min.
Is it doable on the monster 150/70/18 rear? The front is regular bike size (90/90/21) so shouldnt be a problem.
So I'm not exactly new to motorcycles, but I am new to "vintage" motorcycles and dual sports in general. I've ridden a few older bikes (carbed CBR600, a Suzuki 750 4-cylinder cruiser, Ninja 250), and currently own a modified Honda Metropolitan, but this will be my first "real" bike to own, for free no less.
Some questions:
I'm not afraid of getting my hands dirty, neither carbs nor electrical work scares me, and I'm more than willing to spend a bit of time doing things right.
Bought my first bike a couple weeks ago - a 2024 Rebel 500 in cash, kind of wishing I had gone for the CBR500R.
I’m only 600 miles in, but I think I would enjoy the CBR500R more. I’m aware that I’d probably lose some money, but how much could I expect to lose trying to trade in an effectively brand new bike for another?
Is this common? I definitely love riding but I think I made a mistake choosing the cruiser.
Im 28 and wanting to get a bike so i can save on gas and not putting so much wear and tear on my car cause i drive for work as a contractor going house to house and ping pong between towns for appointments. What are some great beginner bikes and brands i should look at? Gas or Electric is fine to me. I need it to be able to go at least 70-80mph on the freeway (It’s Texas.) Are bikes super heavy? Are there light ones? Im not very strong either but willing to build muscle for it. Any other advice for beginners?
Good evening fellow riders, I normally use kerosene to clean the chain prior to lube but I’m fresh out. I just wanted to get some opinions on other options to clean the chain. An old timer I know said to simple green. I’ve checked some various forum posts and it seems to be mixed about simple green. Thx for any feedback, ride safe brothers! 🏍️
Yes I know I'm the dumb ass twisting the throttle and getting caught. I'm 100% the asshole here.
I don't get tickets driving a car so solution is probably get rid of this bike as much as I like it. Also it eats tires.
What bikes(you can get in Canada) should I look at to slow down, but still can have fun?
Test rode some harleys and indians and I'm not sure cruisers are what I want.
Anyone here who's stepped down from a 1000 to something lesser, got any suggestions?
I had a friend who went from a R1 to a lowrider st, and he said it was pretty good. But I'm not sure a cruiser is the direction I'd want to go.
I was thinking I'd like to stay with Honda, this bike has been pretty much worry free.
2018 ZX6R - I was at around 100 kmph on 4th gear when suddenly the bike felt like it was slowing down, holding the clutch or easing off the throttle it felt like it was under braking. When I gave it throttle it doesn't speed up and the rpm was not going more than 5k. Downshifted to 2nd gear with same issue and eventually stalled as it slowed down too much. Shifted into neutral but the bike was still in gear and I couldn't move it, eventually after a couple of mins I shifted down to first and back into neutral and I was able to wheel it to the side. It started up after than and I was able to ride it to a parking spot few feet away.
I'm kind of new to bikes, what are my options here? What could be the issue, and can I ride it to the closest workshop that's about 20 mins away? Thanks in advance
Hey! I live in the Orlando area and just recently got my bike and was wondering if there were any known routes or places that were pretty chill to ride around. Lived here my whole life but never got around to exploring different sides of the city, thank you in advance!
I am considering looking at this Yamaha FZ6R, 2010 with about 1k miles. I have never seen one of these models with low mileage.
What parts should I look out for that may have worn with time, even with this low of mileage?
So I’ve been looking around at new bikes and to be honest for me it just seems like none of them are really what I’m looking for. Sure there probably is a new one out there that I’d enjoy but not without a hefty price tag. My main issue with modern motorcycles is I just want a motorcycle, not a naked bike, not a sports bike, not a cruiser, etc etc. I don’t want a bike with a bunch of crazy jagged edges to make it look cool or whatever that costs +$5k. It just seems like most modern bikes aren’t good all around bikes since a lot of them are sacrificing something in the name of performance or looks. Not to mention there’s not a lot of affordable options between fast sports bike and a fat torquey cruiser. It just seems like vintage bikes have a lot more affordable options for mid cc range bikes just to ride around on and be an all-around solid motorcycle.
Well what I was trying to get to before my rant was does anyone here daily a vintage bike and how practical is it for you? I think at this point I can say I’m very mechanically knowleged and could diagnose and fix any issues I run into on my bikes so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’m really wondering what vintage bike you chose and why and if there were any other bikes you would’ve gone for. Also how has that bike been for you to drive and has it been reliable? My hope is to grab a vintage bike to take to work occasionally (5 miles away), short little rides around town (20-30 miles), and maybe back and forth from college if I so dare to make the trip (60 miles total). I also can easily avoid the highway which I probably would do regardless. Do you think a vintage bike would be capable of that easily?
This would be my first bike and I would only use it to drive to work and around the city, would this be a good commuter bike to start off on?
we are currently riding across the country on Route 66 (west to east) on a BMW r1200gs. Tomorrow is flagstaff to Gallup. Tomorrow alsosays windy conditions from 20-30mph. I hate it but I’m just the passenger! Is it terrible and dangerous or will we be ok? It’s mostly route 40 so we will probably be passing some trucks.
We’ve been getting some gusty winds across the desert so far but I’m not sure how fast they have been, so this is our first weather report that just says it’ll be windy
PS - I would post some pictures if I could figure out how!
