Looking for recommendations for a brand/model jacket that is 3/4 length and mesh. Not leather, not textile with vents. Must come in plus sizes (probably 3x but can vary with brands). Nobody local has anything so I figured if I need to order without trying on first I’d ask for recommendations to avoid a ton of return shipping. Thanks
Hey all, I’m looking for a helmet that’s more or less race inspired but also made for the street (with comms inserts). Don’t really want to be spending a ton of money but a good helmet goes a long way. What’s out there?
I don’t know if this is a common problem or it’s just me, but I thought maybe someone out there knows something about this. I bought an Arai Quantic a few months after it came out. Overall I’m very satisfied with the helmet but I think it has a problem and I don’t know id that’s to be expected or my helmet has a fault. With all the vents closed I feel a lot of air over my ears, and I mean inside the helmet. When it’s cold out my head is freezing because all the wind comes inside the helmet, again, all the vents are closed. This is very annoying because its a good helmet but whenever there are lower temperatures I feel the need to get my other helmet so I don’t feel all that cold inside it. Does anyone experience this? Thanks in advance.
How high or low should they be situated? How much of the shoulder should they cover. What even is my shoulder, the bonny top or the fleshy side of my upper arm? I tried on a couple of jackets but wasn't sure what the shoulder armour was supposed to feel like and how I'd know if it was in the right spot. I ask because I feel like the elbow armour position may have some wiggle room for positioning through the cinch straps, but I'd have to be sure about the way the shoulder armour is positioned.
As I'm finishing up my first season, I've noticed a lot of sought after gear can sell out and be out of stock for a while (Daily where can I find white/fluo torque3 posts). I was wondering when big brands like dainese and alpinestars typically release their new stock?
Looking for some help. I’m a short dude about 5”7 / 5”8. I’m a chubby guy with short legs lol. My inseam is like 28 from the top of my crotch and my waist is like 44. I wear my pants just below my belly. Dad bod.
I cannot find street wear pants that fit, usually too long of an inseam or the knee armor is in the wrong spot. Can anyone help?! I feel like I have literally looked everywhere. I’ve already sent like 5 pairs of pants back to revzilla.
I live in Ohio, would I be better off wearing a base layer under my normal pants? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!
Anyone using this helmet? Trying to find out if it comes with ear covers like the original cavalry helmet does; sound quality; and quality of built in mic. Thanks
Hello! I have a Revit summer jacket with their back protector and man that thing made me sweat so much. I switched to Icon’s ghost back protector and it is so much better. But, now my question: Does anyone have any experience fitting aftermarket different/lighter/more breathable back armor into a First MFG Co jacket? I got their Vendetta jacket for fall/winter riding and was able to fit D3O Ghost shoulder and elbow protectors, but the back pocket they have is a different dimension. I could cut up the D3O back protector to make it fit but I want to maintain switch-ability to my summer jacket. Wondering if anyone has any other options they’ve tried successfully? Maybe I just need to buy a smaller sized back protector(S vs M even though my summer jacket has M armour)? The back protector from their website seems really bulky (like the one from Revit) and would definitely make me sweat a lot.
Thanks in advance!
I’m looking at getting the Alpinestars smx6 v2 boots. I currently have a Alpinestars faster 3 ride knit size 10. I heard the smx can run big and to downsize.
I currently can’t go and try them on in person so Anyone who’s around my shoe size and has these boots, would a size 10 be good or would I have to go down to a 9? The 10 do feel fairly snug (I have wide flat feet) not a lot of toe wiggle room. Perfect for riding but sitting down I gotta take it off.
Has anyone heard of or found larger sizes for riding shoes/boots?
Been scouring the interwebs for larger sizes and the only thing I can find is Alpinestars tech 3’s in 16’s. Not opposed to it just wondering it if have options. Thanks in advance.
How tight or not the jacket need to be?
I wear 52 Dainese Textile, with lot of space inside for a pull over, t-shirt, additional white back protector...
I tried a Dainese smart jacket 50, too small, a 52 smart jacket was okay according to the vendor. I then ordered the Dainese D-Air Sport Jacket LS in size 52.... and
it is really TIGHT, enough space for a t-shirt, arms length is good, textile can expand but im concerned. So I took the time to measure again, and the table show for chest 52 upper limit to 54 would fit
I'm concerned because I read the manual too:
I plan to loose some weight because of health issues.. what do you think about the sizing? im mainly concerned the textile won't expand enough to protect correctly. In cold weather adding layers below the jacket is difficult too
It seems that after trying jacket in 2 shops, vendors are NOT trained and mainly use other considerations like they would sell another jacket.
Hello, I'm from Germany and I just bought a HJC C10. I've looked for the HJ-34P everywhere online and I can't find a tinted visor that's less than 49 euros. Is that price normal?
If it is, which shop would you recommend?
I am looking at the d air vest and wondering if i should buy it. I have dainese gear and want to stay with the brand but i really want the Misano D air leather jacket but cant find any for sale. I wear a size 50 jacket that fits nicely, i still have room to move inside for thermals/waterproof layers. Would i have to upsize. There is an outlet near me roughly 1hr away that carries them but haven’t been able to get there yet
Hello, im looking to get in motorcycle and im not sure about witch type of gloves should I take. I found a short and gauntlet but idk witch one should I take.
The short one I chose is the Dainese Blackshape and the gauntlet is the Dainese Carbon 4 Long.
I will maybe buy the Dainese Racing 4 Jacket so do the short will fit under my jacket so it cover and we don't see at all my wrists? Should I buy both and choose according to temperature and length of journey ?
Btw, im in QC, Canada.
Thanks!
I am a new rider, know very little about bikes, and less about gear. I picked up one of these helmets a couple months ago, paid like $120 for it, got it on Amazon. I liked the retro look, and wanted to upgrade from my old 2nd had 3/4 helmet I started put with. I know Torc is a Chinese brand, but it seems well made. Has DOT rating, fiberglass shell, and thick foam padding inside. Now I am doing more research about gear, and am wondering if I should just toss it and get a Shoei or Arai. There was a dude on another sub who posted pics of the aftermath of a wreck, he was wearing one and it seemed to have held up well to leaving the road at about 50mph. Has anyone used or heard anything about these helmets?
For the past 4 years I have worn Alpinestars Faster 3's, and I like them, but they are totally worn out at this point and I am looking for a replacement.
I primarily ride a BMW R1250 RS, so more looking for a comfortable boot, but also my main gripe with the Faster 3's is the velcro on the lace strap failing. I kind of want to ditch laces entirely, and go for something faster to put on, but every boot I've tried on with a zipper seems too loose.
My only other requirement is having some kind of decent tread on the sole, the Faster 3 was okay at first, but never really had much going for it as far as grip.
I'm not beholden to Alpinestars, what are your recommendations?
With the temps starting to dip down where I live (Northeast USA), I need to invest in a pair of cold weather riding gloves. Some basic information to help with recommendations:
I really like the Joe Rocket Windchill gloves but the size I need is sold out basically everywhere. What other recommendations do you guys have???
I accidentally bought a size up (Im a small and ordered a medium) and was wondering if I could like wear one or two balaclavas underneath to make it fit and not have to go through the hassle of returning it and ordering another one
