Hi, I just bought the SL2 sv650s and wondered what the difference was? There's nothing online about it and I can't figure our what the extra S means?
Was riding to work completely normally when my clutch lever suddenly gained a ton of slack and freeplay.
I have to zero out the lever and pull it all the way back until the lever touches my handlebar for it to disengage the clutch
The perch assembly looks completely normal so I think it came loose somewhere closer to the engine.
Has anyone had this issue happen to them? Can I use the cable adjuster to at least get it back home?

Hello! I’m looking to replace my stock exhaust with a slip-on. Doing some research it seems M4 and Yoshi are the most popular. I want the bike to sound mean, not like a bubbly fart.
I was wondering if anyone had suggestions or tips for me as far as which exhaust to go with. If you think there’s a better exhaust out there for an 02 sv650s, please share. This is my first bike so I’m new to it all

I recently got an SV. I'm using it mostly to commute however, I noticed a top box would be extremely useful. My job requires me to visit clients relatively often and having a space for my helmet would help a ton.
Now I asked around a bit and got told that you'll feel the top box extremely hard in the wind on a naked bike.
I'm obviously pretty inexperienced so I figured I'd ask the experts on here.
How bad is it? Or was the dealership exaggerating a bit?

Anybody here have advice on mounting an X3 camera on the 650s? All the normal mounting devices don’t seem compatible with this bike.
I believe it's an 03, was salvaged due to the plastics and other damages in an accident a couple years ago. I fixed most of the stuff but never rebuilt the leaky forks.. Motor ran perfectly. After getting another sv I kept this bike as a parts bike. It hasn't been fired up in a while and I think I'm ready to let it go. Mostly intact/not registered.. if somebody has a better plan for it than me, let me know please 😊
Way back when I first got my 06 650s, one of the forums had a must do list of things to do with that bike. I can't find it anywhere anymore. I did something to adjust the throttle response, make it less jumpy at low rpms, and I can't remember what I did....anybody know what I'm talking about?
Hi everyone! Today my sv650k3 started spilling oil and smoking. I succeeded in coming home, and when I started it Oli started to spill apparently from secondary gear transmission. Is there a way to fix it without opening the engine? I recently replaced the final transmission, could I have possibly pulled that bold too much? Thanks for any suggestion!
Hello, I have been interested in buying an SV650 bike for some time now, and finally some end-of-year deals have been popping up in my area. I stumbled upon this 2008 sv650, with 3800 miles, listed for $3000. The bike has had 1 owner, but has been garaged since 2017. The bike has not been turned on since. I am going to see it soon, but have no clue if any problems will be caused from the bike sitting that long. I plan on bringing a battery and some fresh gas to try to get it started. Is this a fair price? I don’t know if I should make an offer if I can’t get the bike to start, as I’m cautious of spending money on a bike that won’t work. Any advice on what to look for, or what price to offer would be appreciated! Thanks!

Just recently purchased a 1999 SV650 as my first bike. Runs great, but I found that it was dripping a scentless fluid from the bottom of the engine. I'm a tad mechanically challenged, so I was curious what this fluid might be, and what I should be looking out for on my engine.

I bought a 2003 sv650n back in July. It had 25k miles on it and ran perfectly. WOT was great, and I enjoyed the bike. I did an oil change on it, no problem. so far, the bike was running perfectly, and I put about 1.5k miles on it... until recently when it started to bog down and lose power when accelerating. At first, it was only at high rpm, and I let it sit for a day, and the problem wouldn't happen. Then it started to happen more and more and sounded like it was firing on one cylinder. Now it happens pretty randomly where at the start of my day, I can push the bike as hard as I want, then by the end of the day, it bogs all throughout the rev range and sounds like it's only on one cylinder. But the next day, it could be perfectly fine. It always idles perfectly fine. Every once in a while, I get the FI light, and my fuel pump won't buzz or activate, but I'll just shut my bike off and turn it back on. The fuel pump will then buzz and run. Sometimes, the fuel pump will do its buzz but make a weird noise while doing it. It still starts up and idles perfectly fine. I am not sure what is happening to it. I do not have a maintenance record for it, and all I have done is a K&N oil filter and an oil change. I bought spark plugs and will do those and report. I just want to hear your ideas. The tank also does have rust in it, but what confuses me is that it wasn't a problem for 1.5k miles. I have tried using seafoam, too, but I've only done one fill-up. The bike is outside and lives there and has been ridden in the rain. I have a cover but use it every once in a while (I know I should use it more!!) Hoping I can fix this!!
I'll turn on my bike. It'll do this for a few seconds, then die. Only in first gear and neutral it does this. Anyone know why?

Only one I found near me has 11k miles which is fine, but for the price i'd rather see less miles.

I'm about to pull the trigger on an SV650 and trying to decide whether to go for the ABS model or stick with the non-ABS. I know that ABS can be a huge safety benefit, especially in tricky conditions, but I’d like to hear from those with experience on both versions.
For those who own or have ridden both, is the ABS really worth it? How does it feel on the SV650 in particular, and does it make a noticeable difference in everyday riding? I'm curious if anyone's found it helpful in unexpected situations, or if you feel it’s just not necessary.
