If KTM bad financial issues are caused by over production, why in the world the spare parts order my mech placed directly to Austrian warehouses (at least what he said to me) is taking more than a month instead of the typical 10/15days? They f**ed up the end of my season.
Do not buy Chinese or far east they said.. It will took a life to have spare parts they said.. Then you buy European from Europe and you have to wait the same.. F**k!
Sorry for the rant.. But I stop to ride at end of Augus, we have rainy September and start of October.. , but now.. 2 weeks of one of the hottest November I can remember.. Sunny and hot.. And I'm still without a bike.. It's driving me mad!
Looks like some 2023 Superdukes are listed for ~$16k new (USA). What kind of deals have you guys gotten on these recently. I’d much rather buy a 2023 than the new one for $22k+!
I’ve been reading numerous Reddit threads, online articles, and watching vids for about a month now searching for my best option for my next dirt bike. I’m 44 years old and 155 lbs. When I was younger I had several mx bikes including 125 2 strokes and 250 4 strokes. For the past decade I’ve only had a Crf230f just as a farm/woods bike. I really like the bike as it’s obviously bulletproof, extremely easy to ride but the suspension and top end and overall “fun” leaves something to be desired.
I would classify myself as an jntermediate rider, probably closer to beginner these days just because I haven’t really ridden a punchy dirt bike for a couple decades so I feel like my technical skills are lacking these days.
I would like something with better suspension and more power than the crf230f (crazy top end power doesn’t mean much to me though) but also something where maintenance isn’t a huge issue.
I will be doing woods riding with some hill climbs and minor technical riding through the woods along with fairly open dirt road riding. Top end isn’t a huge deal to me as I’m someone who will rarely, if ever, be going 60 mph on a dirt bike. Might do some small jumps but nothing very big.
Probably most important to me is a fairly smooth power delivery and bottom end that can accommodate smooth slow woods riding over limbs and small fallen trees.
Based on what I’ve reviewed for the past month, I’ve narrowed my search down to the yz250fx, ktm300xcw, and Ktm150xcw.
Of the above mentioned bikes, I’ve only had the opportunity to briefly ride a friend’s Ktm150xcw and I was only able to ride it around our neighborhood on the road. It’s a real cool bike but I feel like the low end might be lacking too much for what I want. From what I’ve read. This seems to be the reason why the ktm300xcw might be the better option for me. However, my friend with the 150 seems to think that would just be too much power for my needs. I tend to agree that I don’t NEED the top end that the 300 would provide over the 150 but, from what I’ve read, a lot of people indicate that the 300 is even more beginner friendly than the 150 due to how forgiving it is at low speeds.
So I think I’m leaning towards the 300. However, also leaning towards the yz250fx as I did own a yz250f almost 20 years ago and, although I don’t want or need a strictly Mx bike like that, the new fx’s seem to take that bike and make it more woods oriented. Also haven’t counted out the 150 though.
I will be buying used.
Would appreciate any thoughts or tips.
It's fitting that I picked up this pumpkin on Halloween day
I'm considering the SC PROJECT SC1-R for my SDR 1390. The official model for the 1390 is the EURO5+ variant, but this variant sounds like crap and the DB-killer can't be removed. So that's not an option. Now I'm looking into the EURO 4 and EURO 5 version, but I have no clue what the difference is between the two and if both could just fit the 1390 or that it would throw up engine errors on the screen. Anybody that can help me understand if any of these 2 can be installed and what the difference is between the two?
Please guys help me out, from last 1 week Ive been hearing rattling sound at only near 2500rpm, not above or not below. Idk what should i do, the service center guys told me to wait for another 1 week for them to identify the problem.....but i have a ride tomorrow what should i do? My bike- KTM adventure 390
I was doing a little pull in 1st gear and right before I wanted to shift the service light came on. It hasn’t turned off. Should I take it into the dealership? Does this usually happen?
Ride experience very welcome 🙏🏻
Will be selling my awesome 1190r soon
It has currently come to my attention that my radiator leaks externally, but only when the engine is hot (8min+idle). I tried to locate the leak but I can’t, so I got two choice here. Change the leaking side for 500$ at a shop or try and bring it to a rad fixing shop hoping the issue is within the rad. Disassembly seems slightly daunting.
I had to rebuild my front caliper on 2009 450 XCW.
I have no feel in the handle. I've tried bleeding it though the banjo bolt and the the purge screw.
The brakes will stop the wheel when spinning, but they are incredibly spongy. They have no real feeling. Handle will touch the grip.
Does the fact that the brakes work to some degree mean that my master cylinder is OK?
I don't know if I need to keep bleeding or just buy a master cylinder rebuild kit.
I've tried bleeding them A LOT!
When I‘m standing still and pressing my rear brake, the brake light only comes on at the last bit of travel of the brake lever. It shouldn‘t be like this, should it?
My front brake makes the tail light up as soon as I move it a little bit from it‘s resting position, which feels much more correct.
I‘ll need to test if it‘s the same when riding, but the opportunity to test it with a friend hasn‘t come up since I noticed this.
Hello! I have a 2022 390 ADV. it has about 1600 miles on it. Within the last ~200 miles it has been stalling while riding.
The bike starts fine. It idles fine while cold/warming. However, once warmed up and I clutch-in to slow down, it stalls. Sometimes it’s hard to restart.
I suspected it was spark. I pulled the plug and discovered the lead-side of the plug was a little corroded. Gap was fine, cylinder-side was fine. I polished the lead of the plug to mirror finish. I wiped the boot with spark plug protector. Reinstalled, and it fired without issue.
Despite this, the bike still stalls once warmed, as described above. Furthermore, I cannot locate a BOSCH VR6NEU plug, nor a NGK equivalent.
Does anyone have suggestions on this? The only YT video I found described my bike symptoms exactly as above, and I followed the recommended fix to no avail.
Also… I too have the relentless service engine light. I have followed the direction on this sub multiple times and cannot clear the service light at all.
Thanks all!
Hey guys, I did an enduro training a few days ago, and loved it! Next one is already Sunday. I’ve been riding 10years on the street, currently have a f850gs. So I’m new to Off Road. I am 1.94m tall, 85kg heavy so size is only a problem if it’s to small. I living between andalucia in south of Spain and Marrakech Morocco. So I would love to take this bike and travel often between the two of them, yes there will be street riding involved and off road I just want to feel confident and have fun and step by step get to a better level. I’m a pretty responsible driver I would say, never push on the throttle only to my skill level. Which bike would you choose in my situation? I guess it’s a dual sport leaning to the off road side and I’m looking into the 690enduro r but people are saying it’s too much power. Maybe the exc350f can be fun but I believe on tarmac that one is not the easiest to ride and as I am still a beginner I will need to somehow find trails and ways to ride off road so tarmac will be definitely part of riding. Or the exc 500f? What would you guys choose? What are your experiences?
Looking for recommendations for -Full wrap hand guards -Header protection
What else would you suggest?
Hi I've not long had a new KTM duke 125 but I keep getting a warning light whilst riding the bike the service isn't due yet as I've only put about 200 mils on the clock but when I turn the bike off and on again it sometimes disappears and others come right back I'm just at a lost as to what it could be has anyone got any ideas I've already checked the oil and coolant and tyre pressure just don't know if there's anything else I should be looking at
I have a 2013 ktm 500 supermoto and my stock rear shock was very tired. I replaced it with a shock off a 2004 125sx, but after 100 hours or so, it's beginning to seep oil. What years of pds shocks are interchangeable? I'm considering buying a newer low hours shock instead of getting my shock rebuilt. I don't have a good local suspension shop.
Hi everyone! I have a KTM EXC 300 2007. (Kickstart)
When i get off the throttle, my front light seems to fade. And my blinkers stop working. Like I have less power, and its simple because it’s a non battery ktm. But is there any easy way to fix it?
Thank you!!
Attempts to switch on but fails (Hace el intento de encender pero no enciende como se ve en el vídeo)
Hello!
I came across cheap some SX 125 (2017 year) bike and im wondering if i am to heavy for it? Iam 190cm/6' 3. And i weight 100KG/220LBS. I know 250 would be an obvious choice but just wondering.
Have a nice day!
Do u guys know any way to get a pillion seat cover to have my RC 125 of2020 a single seat?
