Hello everyone I’m completely new here, but just today I bought this 1983 Suzuki FA50 for $440. I’ve always really wanted one of these finally got my hands on one. The only issues it currently has are the turn signals not flashing but rather staying on, i’m also missing the front turn signals and the low beams don’t work but the high beams do. But that’s really it when it comes to broken stuff.
My daily driver (left, cilo cross 512) i use it everyday to get to school for the least two years and my fun machine for going out because i think it looks nicer. (right, puch maxi)
Both are a bit tuned but not too extreme.
Did most of the work myself, it was the first bike i ever rode so I thought i should restore it to it's former glory, it took a few months but now it's almost finished
Just put my first bottom end toghether and I was wondering if this is normal noise? For those wondering it’s a malossi mp nose crankcase and a malosi rhq crank
Well i dont know if i’m in the right subreddit here as i’m new to mopeds but i just wanted to show it. Not the best photo but enough to know about it i guess. It’s a Honda CD50S Benly from ‘96 There is of course work to be done but it is in working condition!
I am talking to the seller of this Tomos (he says it's a '78 but I think it might be '85 based on the VIN plate). He's asking $100 and I'd need to pay to have it delivered, but how much work do y'all think the electrical issues would take? I see other problems not mentioned in the ad like headlight and brake cables, etc, and I am looking for a bit of a project as long as I'm not biting off more than I can chew. What do you think I'm in for? Thanks in advance
Been thinking about unrestircting my uz50 but i keep see these terms like jetting lean and so on, what do they all mean.
I'm having a very hard time finding tires for my Express II. The manual dictates 2.25x14 4 ply. I can't find that width, only 2.125. Can I use a 2.125 in lieu of the 2.25?
Not sure I'm kind of a noob but need transportation, I don't have a whole lot but need a ride. Loads of cyclists and motorcycle riders die here and the perp is never found. Let me know what kind of moped is somewhat good at jumping curbs and riding.
I’m thinking of converting the bulbs in my QT50 to use LEDs, which from what I’ve heard, most will only work with 12V. There are these automotive LEDs that say they work on 6V and 12V systems. Has anyone had any luck with these? Like, how bright are they? would they work with a stock bimetallic flasher?
I found a 1978 Honda PA50 Hobbit with a top speed of 30–35 mph for $750. It has 1,600 miles, and the owner says it runs great.
Is this a good deal, or should I try to negotiate? Also, is this a reliable bike?
Thanks for your input!
Hello everyone, this is my first ever post on reddit, not really sure how this should be done but anyways; I have a 1980 Puch Maxi. Bike was sold as for parts since it has been sitting for very long time. IT WAS FULLY STOCK .Got it home and got it running but not running. The bike Had a weird problem where it would not rev, when I tried to it would just die. So I decided to rebuild the engine. When rebuilding I snapped the exhaust stud. Piston, cylinder and rings were excellent. When I took it fully apart I wanted to take crank bearing and forgot about the little C clip thats on the clutch side, trashed the crank since I ripped it out with a puller. Long story short I bought new parts for it: 50cc Tccd Kit Gold Baffle 2 Piece pipe. new seals Blue clutch springs. Replaced bearings with good used ones. Bike fired Up and had really good take off power and was driving pretty fast, my guess about 35-40.
One day I was driving it, I drove onto the rounder curb and couldnt handle the bike and it slided with me. Crashed it, and stored it away for about a month.
Took it apart again, decided to reaseal the engine and adjust the timing and now the bike struggles to get to 10mph. No matter what I do it wont make a difference, while on kick stand it revs good. When it comes to driving its judt bad. What do I do? Bing 15mm 86 Jet. stock air filter/No airfilter makes no difference.
Reddit friends - I have a 1996 kinetic tfr that I've owned for probably 20 years now. I ride it in nice weather around the neighborhood.
I finally looked closer and realized the tires are ancient. It's a 3 digit code rather than the newer 4. I understand I can't decode the decade with 3 but I don't think it matters - it's old.
Question is where can I find someone that does this work? Bicycle shops said no, motorcycle shops said no.
Im running a Bing 15mm carb with a 88 jet 70cc airsal kit and Puchshop high compression Head and a proma circuit exhaust with a polini Muffler Im reachimg like 74km/h
Any ideas how I can increase my gas mileage. I’ve heard I may be able to add a part or make an addition to an existing one. I’ve been told that it could make it noisier. If so, what would causethat?
Getting some miles in during the off season. This is on a frozen lake above about 40' of water.
Got her running! Need to fix the gas line (leaking) and get some fresh gas and oil. Why does the right handlebar not accelerate the engine? Video above. Is something broken? Or does something need adjusted? Thank you!! Y’all have been super helpful!
The float is hitting the top of the carb body. Is that a problem? When I blow through the fuel banjo then air doesn't leak through so it seals fine. But will the slightly higher float height cause any performance issues?
Any idea why it wouldn’t turn over? New spark plug installed as well.
