I recently bought the cellphone mount from SP Connect with the integrated cellphone charger. I have a cable that could be fitted directly to the battery, but that would drain it. I know that there is a plug for accessories that onli has power when the ignition is on, but would like to keep that one free for a USB port. Is is possible to directly wire the cable from the charger somewhere, so that it's only powered when the ignition is on?
So recently this V7 Racer caught my eye, the only problem is the guy has it listed as a 2016. As far as I can find the 2016's did not come chromed out like this one. Plus the badge on the side is V7 Racer and not V7II Racer. I'm guessing a 2013. I have asked him and he pointed me to a link he provided for specs which covers 2011-2016.
He is out of the country for a couple of weeks so communication hasn't been easy.
Being a 2013 isn't a deal breaker because its the look that has really grabbed me, but why lie or mislead.
What do you guys think?
I had issues with my previous lamp during the TÜV inspection, the bulb socket was very poor quality. Upgraded to this beautiful LED lamp from china and now I realized the plate angle is out of specifications 😅 it feels nice though
Looking for a sportier driving position on my v7 Special Edition and found this on their offical site:
Question is how hard is it to fit, can I do it myself?
Hi, I am riding a 2015 V7 Special II. All 4 rubbers of my signals dried up and brittle broke one after the other. I want to know if you know somewhere I can buy only the rubber parts without changing the whole signal. Thanks!
Hello,
Wondering what you guys would consider a “good price” on a new 2023 moto Guzzi Mandello in the USA. Color is Red
I lost the nut including the insert that goes between the screw and the plastic with the light. I bought the nut, but I couldn't find the insert. I can't assign the turn signal back - can't attach the screw to the back red llight. Is it a problem that I don't have the insert? I enclose picture with red mark with missing metal insert. Moto Guzzi V7 stone 2017. Thanks for advice
Something odd. Wonder what i did wrong. After riding 20 miles i return to change oil. The engine was cooling down rapidly. The road had a little bit of decline, i pushed motorcycle head light towards uphill. Then center stand. Unscrew the filter, out comes about 5 cups (USA) of 10W60 oil, how is that possible. Should i stop using the center stand and use side stand to empty?
Only 125 mL, or 5 cups of oil came out through the filter hole below the engine. I now wonder if i used side stand before.
Reconnected the battery and filled the tank. It didn’t fire up right away, let it sit and an hour later it started right up? I’ll take it!
I am looking for a windscreen for my V7 850. Are there windscreens that can be mounted and removed quickly with maybe some click system or something? I prefer to ride without but sometimes I have to ride on the highway 4-5 times a week and it can get pretty windy.
Hey there fellow Moto Guzzianers, My v7 classic 2024 was in my garage for 2 and a half month. Theses days I’m using my bike for commuting to work or chores (also longer trips above 30kms). The weather is around 10 degree celcius and humid. I started to notice that I need to hold the ignition button for like 5 seconds until I hear the bike try to start and if it fails the first time, I need to turn of the bike again and wait for like 30 seconds until I can try it again because after the button won’t do anything anymore. Do you think the solenoid said it’s goodbyes? No errors in the dashboard so far.
UPDATE: you guys were right. It’s literally the button. I need to press it and push it down in the direction of the floor and boom, it starts. Never would have guessed that. Thanks for help!
I asked Copilot to draw a picture of a riding Moto Guzzi. The result is ‘interesting’.
Hey guys,
I have a v7 that I bought brand new. I use it almost everyday for commuting. About 2000 miles on it so far.
I noticed yesterday when I tried to turn on the bike, as I usually do, it wouldn't do anything. I did wash the bike two days prior. I usually wash it once a week as I do 600 miles a week for my commute. I was hoping you guys could give me some insight on what is wrong.

Hello!
I've read dozens of threads on ECU updates/remapping etc. and now I'm thoroughly confused. And because my 1000 mile first service is coming up in the next couple of months (good riding days dependent of course) I'm wondering a few things.
Perhaps you all can help.
I've done no mods yet, but at lower RPMs the throttle can be quite "jerky" or "snatchy" in 2nd and 3rd gear. Will the dealer apply a newer map that may solve this?
GT MotorCycles seems to indicate that a new map and deleting the SAS system and charcoal canister will dramatically smooth the throttle at low RPMs. Anyone have experience with this?
I assume because MGC adds a note about "racing only not street" that this is to cover them should a customer one day fail emissions inspection? This must also void the warranty?
In the end, I want the SOUND that this bike can really make, and I'd like the throttle response to much smoother at lower RPMs, I'm not really concerned about increased HP, and I really and truly don't care one whit about the E5 emission regulations.
What say you all?
I was considering this bike, since im on a very tight budget, and this will be my second bike, what do you think?
The grime pictured here appeared after a couple days off riding recently, and I struggle to get it off. i’ve cleaned the bike (soap then rinse off and dry with towel), but I struggle to really get the small grooves like the engine clean.
It’s only really visible in very very direct light (such as the flash used here).
Any tips?
How do you know what ECU map version is currently applied?
I have read that there was an "updated" map that dealers were able to apply. I've searched the manual and can't find a way to display what the map version is. Is this even possible?
Thanks!
Hey everyone
I recently had a minor accident that generally hasn’t injured my bike very much (repair costs of about €140 in parts), but one of the parts affected (the spark plug cover) is back ordered, so I’ll probably have to wait a month or so to get it. With that, I have a question about whether I can still use it with the damage on it.
So my spark plug cover on my left engine got a crack about an inch long (on the bottom left side of it), and maybe 1-1.5mm in width after the crash. The crack is not flimsy, although I can compress it by about a few tenths of a mm if I give it all my force.
I haven’t taken a picture of it, because it’s quite hard to show off in 2D accurately, so I’ve tried to describe it the best I can.
As for how the engine runs, I had to ride it home after the incident, and it drove perfectly normal, and still functions normally. However I do not wish to put more kms on it if it severly damages or jeapourdizes the engine.
Therefore I am asking whether this small crack on my spark plug cover is something I should be concerned about, or if I should just keep riding with it until I get the new cover in a month or so. Thats all.
So I bought myself the MIVV Ghibli exhausts with the optional catalytic converters and I am frustrated… I am either too stupid or they just won’t fit. I don’t know how to properly fixate the catalytic converters into/onto the muffler. Where is the cat located stock-wise? Do I even need to apply the cat or is the stock one located further up the exhaust system?
I am glad if someone could share their experience and thoughts on this..
The front wheel is not spinning freely.. is this normal/expected?
