My beauty. New to this Sub. Longtime GSXR Owner. The Akrapovic looks SO much better than the stock exhaust.

What Front Brakes?

2009 ZX6R, 20,000KMS

I recently changed the fluid in my brakes as my front brakes were getting a bit soft... Noticed a bit of gunk in the reservoir so gave it a good clean and put it all back together, bled the brakes and Bob's your uncle...or so atleast I thought. After about 5 days, the brake lever had become softer than before the fluid change and was less than useless. Thinking I had a leak somewhere I inspected everything and didn't find any leaks so assumed I had just left air in the system somewhere. Bled the brakes again, all was looking good until again 5 days later (this time not having ridden the bike at all) the lever pulled all the way to the throttle without so much as a bit of resistance.

I'm thinking that some gunk has got into the master cylinder and I have a slow leak that I just can't see evidence of? But is there anything else I should try before pulling it apart to rebuild?

Cheers in advance for any advice.

I'm getting my first sport bike in a month or so, a GSXR 600. I don't know any other people who ride though. How do I make biker friends?

Moving to a 600cc supersport...From a 300 in just within a year?

Hi Ya'll

I am aware that there are already tons of topics related to this but I just really wanted your opinions on this so i can weigh in on the decision to moving to a 600cc supersport. AS A BEGINNER?

Just to give a little back story so we are all in the same page, So during the pandemic lockdown my neighbor was unable to get home from out of state, so he asked me to look after 2 of his bikes until he gets a chance to get home. He told me that I could use and borrow as a token of gratitude.

These bikes where a 1. A singe cylinder Grom 2. Ninja 300. I took this opportunity to try and learn how to ride a motorcycle. So I searched day and night on tutorials around the internet on how to ride and what are good beginner motorycles.

A short background on me, I just turned 30 (Late to hop on the motorcycle bandwagon), Been an avid competitive cyclist since I was in my late teens all through out my mid 20s (Fixed gear, and Road Bikes). Have had a car license since 18yrs old only driving Manual Transmission steeds, and a car guy by blood (I own an modded evo 7 and a race prepped 98 civic type R).

So you might have guessed, that I have had some adequate experience when it comes to road awareness and holding my self up in public roads. being in both in the bottom of the food chain (bicycle) and higher on top (cager).

I got the hang of both the bikes in around a week of just leaning. Clutching in and shifting gears came natural to me (rev matching, shift points, braking, throttle control) as well as basic 2 wheel awareness on the road (counter steering, weight distribution, trail braking).

I'm having a blast riding! I didnt know there was another world I was missing! But the problem is that both the bikes I'm riding are a bit lack luster to me.

The Grom is fun, punchy and very light, I just dont like how its has a lot of torque low down and nothing on top, feels like a toy. On the otherhand the ninja 300 is a more refined experience, still has good low down torque that carries a bit to mid range, still not a smooth engine though but heaps better than the grom, it aint fast but yeah, I understand why its the most recommended beginner bike.

So here is the thing, a friend of mine came to visit me in his CBR600RR. And he suggested that I take it for a spin. I have read that these bikes can kill you in one mistake and being a fairly new rider I felt a bit nervous when I hopped on for the 1st time and keeping revs below 8k. But after just a couple of runs around the block, WOW THIS THING IS AMAZING. Power and torque was more predictable and came in smoother (reminded me of my civic type r) Handling was on point, the ergo reminded me of my track bike where small inputs give a good feedback, and that commited posture gives me more confidence on what I wanted to do on the bike. Oh and the I4 engine is buttery smooth, worlds apart from the grom and the ninja, less jerks and smoother take offs.

I'm starting to consider a the same CBR as my first purchased motorcycle, these go for cheap in the used market. And my neighbor is moving out to another town, as well as the loaner bikes I am using.

AM I MAKING A MISTAKE? I know I am still a beginner (in the 4th month) albeit the foundation I have from bicycles and cars, and still have alot to learn. But the 600 was really different, The grom and ninja ignited my interests in bikes but the 600 dumped gasoline in it.

I know this is a long post, but if you made it this far Thank You for reading. And would gladly appreciate it if you could chime in your opinions and pieces of advise you could lend me. I'll be taking my MSF in a couple of weeks too so that I can upgrade my license.

Cheers Ya'll! :)

Interviews/documentaries with amateur/hobbyist supersport motorcyclists

[I'll probably use wrong terminology, I don't really know what I'm talking about]

I've recently watched some helmet cam videos of guys weaving through traffic at super high speeds and it's a totally unique viewing experience. I realize my body is tense and upright, mouth open, mind is blank, and I'm completely focused on every moment.

I want to learn about the guys behind the helmets. I feel like I'm discovering this whole subculture on the extreme edge of human experience and I'm wondering what kind of people are willing to risk their life like that. It's dangerous, expensive, illegal, pointless (no offense), etc. but clearly it's extremely addicting. I think it's how many of us wish we could live if we weren't afraid of death.

Googling was pretty unhelpful. I just found a bunch of results about MotoGP.

Also, if you have favorite riding videos I'd love some recommendations. I haven't yet figured out how to find the best stuff on youtube.
