Hey guys, I’ve been riding bikes for 10 years (on the street) currently riding a f850gs. I recently did an enduro course and fell in love with it. Going to the next one Sunday and I’m stoked. I’m also going to move to an area soon that is closer to off road riding. As I live between Spain and Morocco, this bike should be a off road fun bike with the options to travel a lot between Spain and Morocco. Personally I would chose the crf over the KTM as of reliability (with a question mark to you guys?) as of price (with a question mark to myself and my wife lol) and the power the KTM has. I’m not sure I need that power especially as a beginner I am sure that the Honda is easier to handle. My biggest problem is my size, I am 1.94cm and with boots etc. I am really tall (85-90kg heavy) the Honda is just small. Yes I know easier to ride off road especially in the beginning but I also don’t want to feel cramped on the bike. The KTM is just way bigger and more comfortable. Sure I can mod the Honda with some higher seat, new suspension for sure, handle bar risers and different handle bar.. but feels somehow wrong to buy it for 6k and put 2k on aftermarket’s adds on until it’s maybe ready. While for 10-11k +1k aftermarket’s I get the bike that probably fits me perfectly.
Enough monologue, what do you guys think? Do you think that is to much bike for beginning of hitting trails and off-road adventures or a good start that will be more longlasting. And - how about the reliability of it? I don’t want to get stuck in the middle of Morocco or Spain, especially as a beginner this is a big and constant worry of mine. Thanks a lot for your advice!
Comment your idea. Most upvoted comment by the end of the day wins for this week.
Any recommendations? I have a ‘96 KLX 250R and an ‘07 KTM Super Enduro 950R. Need something in the middle. (Street legal but capable of difficult very tight/steep single track, older rider(obviously since I bought the KLX new))
Local dealer has the 501S on sale but my preference would be a 350 or potentially 390 on the Beta. I’m not against the KTM or Gas Gas but spec wise I think the Husky might be a better fit (and I like blue, but orange is cool) and I like PDS fine but linkage on my woods bike seems fine too.
I had an EFI bike for 25k miles (2010 Ducati Multistrada 1200) but hopefully these modern bikes are much better sorted. My Honda carbed VTR1000 and the deleted KTM are far far better than the Ducati on throttle response.
Wondering if anyone's ever had this issue, or has a solution. I will be riding at a consistent 50mph, and for a second it will go to a random number like 31, then back to 50. I've tried all three "modes" the one with rpm, the one with ride time, and the one with top speed.
Hey guys, i recently bought an used yamaha wr250r and when i blip the throttle it stays back, it doesnt go back to idle, is it suppused to be like that? Am I supposed to turn the throttle back forward or is it supposed to go back forward on its own? If its an issue is it essy to fix on your own or do i have to take it to a mechanic? Is it an expensive repair? Thanks, i also think is the rubber but im not sure, it is my first bike and i dont know much about engines and less about motorcycles
Street legal inspections passed, tomorrow I have an appointment to register it 🙌 will finally be a true dual sport XR650R
Got a brand new shed delivered to a buddies farm to store everything I own while I'm out touring the USA, Central and South America on my CRF250L for the next 3 years.
Heading down the California coast all the way to San Diego then heading east into the desert. After that I'll be dodging weather and racking miles until late summer then heading south of the border.
How well loved are these bikes? I currently own a 24 Kawasaki KLR650 and I’m wanting similar to it but lighter. Anyone own one and have some highway/ dirt experience?
Out for an autumn ride. Here's a bridge.
I want to buy a 2023 KLX230SM with under 100 miles on it. However, I’m reluctant because I’m having trouble finding anyone to attest to its reliability.
I’m planning on taking the gas tank off of my Honda XR250R for maintenance. If I turn the petcock to off then take it off will that prevent it from leaking? Or do I need to siphon out the gas? Thanks.
Very good deals on 2024 KTM 500excf right now til Oct 31. Have been looking at used but the new OTD price is very very good. The dilemma is the PDS vs Husq 501 linkage. Can someone who has ridden both the 500 and 501 with the new suspension comment on the differences. Senior average rider and ride in the foothills and Sierras from my house. Currently ride a 2020 Husq 701 and plan on keeping it for longer rides, lightweight adv bike.
Is it me or do a lot of things break and get there’s a lot of time fixing things? I don’t do crazy things with the bike or misuse it I ride pretty normal. Most things that break are normal things like mirrors but then theres a ton of weird things. Like today my throttle tube broke. Not really sure why so much stuff breaks.
No bridges 🥲 just clouds
(I am in Kentucky) I recently purchased a 2020 Honda crf 250 rally. it has all the way things it needs to be street legal brake lights, turn signals, head lights, etc. I went to transfer the title today and after it got transferred, I asked for a plate they told me I couldn’t bc it is a off-road vehicle on the title. How do I change the title to where it says street legal. Or get it to where I can legally ride it in the rode.
Update
I went back to dmv and told them to Google the bike bc it comes as a street legal bike from factory and I said someone messed up on the title along the way finally started to get somewhere they pulled up the original title and the person who labeled the title ( Indiana power sports) I think is who they said. Put “dirtbike” in the title and they said as soon as Kentucky sees “dirt bike” in the title they deem it not road legal. So they said tomorrow they would send the paper work to the state dmv and see if they can do anything like switch the title to a motorcycle title.
I need a dual sport bike thats CHEAPER than 2000 euro Goes more than 90kmh And its a 2 stroke
Considering buying a Husky 701 Enduro with 5.4k km looks really pristine, but it hastn had an oilchange since Dec 17, anything i should look after ? thanks ✌️
