Need help finding a correct battery for my R69S

I have a 1966 R69S that was switched to 12 volt before I purchased it. Currently have a AGM battery but the straps aren't the correct length so I have a Jerry rigged system in place.

Is there a company out there that makes a 12 V battery that is of the same size or looks like a replica of the old 6 V battery sizes?

In the link below I found a company that sells a replica of the old original blitz 6v in 12v but won't ship to the US.

Link to 12v replica https://www.ulismotorradladen.de/article-details/0050512-Battery-12V-R27-conversation-R50-R69S-maintenance-free.

Extended tail light & plate

https://preview.redd.it/ho81d1lsinsd1.png?width=379&format=png&auto=webp&s=525c1f49bfb1eb240333ffd40f4a8489461bd848

My bike's rear lights & plate are tucked close under my seat (left), but I've seen a lot of bikes where it is extended out (like the bike on the right). Is there a specific part to extend my rear light & license place? It's never been an issue before, but I recently added a luggage rack and now my lights & plate are a lot less visible.

I have an incredibly stupid tire question.

This is the original front tire (Metzeler Racetec M7 RR) on my 2021 S1000R.

It feels fine, and I probably got there by being less than religious about tire pressures, but how concerning is that re: not dying?

I can't decide if that's "it does that" cupping around the center reinforcement, or I should replace this thing right fucking now. I have some time left, in terms of wear, but...

Thanks.

Will there be a 2025 update for R1250RT?

I saw a video that claimed to be a 2025 R1250RT. But I have only seen the one video and heard of no other information. Has anyone heard or seen anything definitive?

F650GS 2008 "Stalling" ?

Hi,

Owner of a F650GS (twin) since 6 months, bike is doing really well, put ~7000kms to it, it has now 40 000kms and going next week to bmw for the 40k valves check, the spark plugs will also be changed.

But recently the bike has been stalling here and there at idle on red lights or when i pull the clutch in, there is no "physical" stalling the motor just cuts by himself on 1st or N, it starts again right after when i start it. I had this really big "stall" when going on the highway where the bike really shut off this time, i had to turn the key to off then on again and when the bike was started again my fuel seems to be emptying quick, so i stopped in safety, shut off the bike waited 5 mins then started it again everything was back to normal. I know this gen of F650/800 have this stalling issue and want to know if anyone resolved it ? Since the bike is going to Bmw next week could ask them to work on it. (read about some update of the bike?) I tried the gas handle method, did not seem to have any effect.

Thanks riders!

Edit : this is happening either the bike is cold or not, just rode for 30km to the city and it stalled in the traffic when i clutched from 3 to 2.

Planning a short motocamping trip. Help me plan!!!!

I have a '15 RT with RT side and top boxes. I will be traveling only a day, but camping for a few days, and hiking. Solo trip. Middle of WV, north of Green Bank.

So....Never did a solo trip nor camping. I have most all items I think I need due to hiking the AT, and being UL. Tent, pads, bag, etc. I'm not sure of camping etiquette though, so maybe some US people can chime in. I'll lock my helmet in my box, but my gear, including camping gear is the question.

Do I leave my tent up next to the bike? Do I tear it all down every day and put it in the bike? I'm afraid just that alone, I'll have little room for actual camping gear, since my pants/jacket take up almost one full box, and my helmet another. What's normal for US wilderness/park set ups? Just unpack, and leave it for a few days while I hike around?

I plan on taking my tent, inflatable pad/pillow, maybe a ground tarp, small PocketRocket stove with fuel, some freezer-bag meals, 4L water, sawyer filter (straw? tube? not the pump), tons of candy bars since I'm diabetic, along with basic supplies. Simple 1st aid kit, roll of TP, flashlights/headlamp. Battery packs/cables. HT radio for emergencies, since there is NO coverage, and it's a radio free zone.

I'm prob' just over thinking this, but, I just never did this before!!! I'll try and get everything pulled, packed up for a test fit this week.

Best F900R mods?

(Picture is for attention)

Recently bought a 2020 F900R and I have already have ordered a few parts such as a Serviceable Air Filter (Sport Filter if you call it that), Exhaust on the way, M Endurance Chain.

My question is what should I get to improve the bike. It’s my 2nd bike (coming from a 125cc) and I primarily want to ride canyons and mountain passes. I don’t plan on using it for anything else.

Currently I plan on purchasing a dashboard protector, brake cooling ducts, frame and wheel sliders, engine covers (think thats what they are called), I plan on getting a remap further down the line and some brake levers.

Obviously I also plan on attending courses and academies when they start next year.

First solo ride

Going to Fredericksburg, Tx from Dallas this weekend. Any tips? I have a F650gs. Just put new tires on it and all the maintenance has been done. I bought a new duffle bag and two hard case panniers.

Afterwards I’m going to the Twisted Sister. Any tips on that?

Left handlebar switchgear for a '77 R100S

Anyone know of a cheap replacements, ideally one that looks like the original? I've looked at the modern reproductions, and they are way too expensive. All others I find have the blinker controls on the left side, when they're on the right for my bike.

The headlight toggle was stuck, so the MOA Facebook group told me to take it apart. So I did, then they said that since I took it apart, it's now ruined. Great.

What I really need are the springs, ball bearings, and that circlip that goes behind the yellow headlight toggle. The holes under the rocker switch are broken on one side, so the peg is useless. I might be able to fix that with baling wire.

BMW GS1200/1250 or R Nine T scrambler?

Ok that's a bit or weird choice :)

I am getting back into motorcycling. I am nearly 50 yrs old. But in my 20s for around 10 yrs used to have 600s and 1000's Sports Bikes that i used to commute to work on every day in London.

I recently hired a Tracer 7 for a week to get some confidence back and refresh my skills. Really easy (maybe too easy) bike to ride around on. But definitely got the bug back for a bike. Autumn/Winter is a great time to look at picking up a good deal on a used bike too :)

I was looking at GS1200 or 1250.. but worry it's quite a big beast for relatively noice(ish) rider. Or is it? i was also looking at R Nine T scrambler. I would mainly use it for commuting again, the odd weekend trips. But i do love the idea of some travelling across Europe. So would i regret getting the Scrambler.. or should i use that as a stepping stone to gain back some more skills/confidence before getting a GS?
