They're asking $5k & it has 48k miles. Thoughts?
Hi, everyone
I'm looking to get an upgrade for my current motorcycle, a 2003 suzuki gs500, it's great but a bit old and I'm looking for a bit more power and ABS and stuff like that to give me a bit more safety. I love nakeds and it's usually my only vehicle, from daily commute to "long drives" (maybe more mid drives :) ).
I found a second hand 2016 BMW F800R with 36.000Km for about 4.9K EUR pretty well cared for, I think it's a good price, but I'd like to know more about reliability, for example doing another 30-60K with it, maintenance cost, possible problems and overall opinions on it since I'd like it to be my next bike for the following years.
I've taken it for a very small ride and I like how it feels, but I'd like to know more.
Thank you.
Picked the bike up about two months ago and have ~2,300 miles on it. It’s super fast but I am ready for more. I was looking at BT moto stage 1 or 2 tune with full race exhaust from Akrapovic. Are these compatible? What are some good options?
Can somebody recommend me a hard topcase for my UrbanGs.
It does not need to be huge, just to carry my essentials(tools, tire plug kit, first aid kit) without worry somebody will steal it from me.
Before the new bearings were installed I don’t recall hearing an uneven sound when spinning the front wheel by itself. During the service one fork leg was accidentally made too loose and had to be reset in the top triple tree. Any ideas? Or something else to look at?
Looking for fellow Burquenos who can recommend a shop or mechanic for my '74 R90S. I've used OCD in Santa Fe in the past, but looking for somebody closer to the Albuquerque area.
We find ourselves at an impasse over here, please weigh in!
Assume the hypothetical scenario :
‘21 or later R1250 (regardless of GS, R, etc) with 150k miles on it.
a) would you consider buying ?
b) if so, what’s the most you’d pay?
Got a case of beer and an embarrassing Halloween costume situation on the line…
Appreciate any & all responses…
Thanks for playing folks!

Just made my drivers license this year and I'm still not sure what to buy.
Tried sitting on a Honda CX500 and immediately dumped the idea, because it's too small for me.
I really liked the GS310 I had to ride during school, but I don't like the look. It was a fantastic beginners bike with a very good sitting position and a very good suspension, but the design isn't my cup of tea.
Suggest me any bike, no matter how old it is, as long as it isn't covered with plastic. I was thinking about buying a K75 or a R850R, but haven't had the time to sit on one of them.
I'm looking to enable the indicators as DRL, Change heated grips and enable the sports screen.
I have a 2020 R1250GS Rallye TE.
Would this app allow me to do so or do I need togo down the route of the HEX GS-911?
WTFF BMW engineers?!??! It should not have taken me over an hour, 15min of that putting a simple cover back on, to replace an air filter. How many pieces of tupperware and bolts do I really need to take off?!??!
My DL650 ('05?) was...take off seat, two bolts for the tank, lift up tank, disconnect fuel line, unclip box, replace filter. Like, a 10min job at most if nothing is seized.
Sigh.
Hi everyone!
Looking at purchasing a 1979 R100RT, bikes done 60k miles. Has panniers, fairings etc. it’s pretty original.
What should I be looking out for?
I want to keep this bike as original as possible - with the only idea of removing the fairing in the summer.
My kids grew up riding dirt bikes with me, now we’re riding GS’s together. No complaints :) 03 r1150GSA, 07 r1200GS, 10 f650GS.
I was topping up the coolant in the reservoir of my 2014 R1200GS and noticed there is not an UPPER coolant overflow hose connected. I watched a YouTube video on the same bike and his bike didn't have that upper drain hose, either. It's not expensive, but I'd have to special order it (~3 weeks). Is it necessary?
Picked this up few months back with 350 miles. I love it so far. Did couple of long trips (1500-2000 miles long) this is my 4th motorcycle and by far the best one. Any riders from south Florida ?
Hi guys Anyone riding a f900 model?
Have a question: My xr, riding on the harder side at altitude lugs a lot under full throttle. Is this normal? Anyone else experiences it? 2023 model, 19k kms Thanks
I’ve had a good look at the R1300GS on the BMW Motorrad UK website, and the auto gearbox isn’t listed as any options in the configurator, and it’s not listed as a different model.
Is it just not out yet? Is it available in other countries?
I’m trying to figure out how much it costs.
2013 f700gs. Just got the bike. It idles fine at low rpms when hot but when I turn the bars more than halfway to lock the idle jumps up to 2k or more. I may also note there is 0 dead zone in the throttle. Every bike I've ever had has a tad bit of play.
Does this seem like a routing issue or a throttle adjustment issue?
