i finally solved my visor wobble but my cluster still shakes, is there a second screw for that one? if so it probably fell out since i cant see it there.
I have a sv650 from 2019, is it possible to buy and mount a clear clutch cover?
Hi
I have already returned a pair of Alpinestars J6 and then a pair of Dainese suburb.
BOTH broke on the shifter foot in less than 2 months.
Anyone has a pair of another model that has lasted at least a season?
My breaks locked up due corrosion
I’ve heard so many things about to overfill the bike a bit and to not over fill it at all. If there is already another thread on this can someone point me into that direction so I can just read through it. If not any help?
theres a little bit of play in the rear wheel and its causing that knocking noise when i shake it, but the bike rides perfectly normal. I was about to lube my chain and i found that... is it normal? could it be worn cush drives or something worse? 06 pointy
Looking to buy an SV650. Was planning on a new '25 but I don't love the green. I found a '21 for half the price of a new one and with only 1200 miles. Have there been any updates since '21 that I'd be missing if I saved some money on the used one?
In the next few days I'll be having a look at a 2002 Sv650 that's only done 11k miles. Going by the photos and videos it looks tidy. Is there anything that I should look out for?
Hello fkcrs, I just recently got basic service done to my bike brakes, chain, oil the usual. This time though I had this weird chirping sounds coming from the front end so my mechanic suggested we did wheel bearings. Now we think we found the culprit with the chirping sound coming from the speed sensor being gunked up with little grease in it. Haven’t heard it since service my question is before I got my bearings done I could move my bike with ease sitting on it. Now it takes some reasonable effort to move not much though just more than before. Would this be because they just need to break in or would you think they are too tight or possibly because new chain?
Cheers m8
Recently blew out a fork seal on my 2020. Not planning on upgrading the springs or anything, just doing the plain old, simple oil seal change. Is it ok to put 15w on an all-stock fork? Because it feels too bouncy.
My SW Motech top box rack decided to give up... tbh i probably put something too heavy on it.
I have a 95” Yamaha virago 250 and it doesn’t start but when I hook the battery up to jumpers, this wire connecter that’s under the clutch lever starts smoking And this other wire underneath the seat near the battery I think is a fuse also smokes aswell. What’s some reasons that could cause this and what’s the best plan of attack?
Hi, this bolt is loose on my 2001 after I have been manually cranking it to expel oil. Maybe it loosed itself after the engine seized? What torque spec should I restore it to and how? Thanks
Hey guys I want to get some lower fairings for my SV650s. However im on a tight budget. I was looking around the internet and found some on aliexpress for around 170$. The pictures from the reviews seem promising but I want to ask if anybody has expiriencce with fairings like these.
Kann man das so schreiben? Will mal in einem Forum nach Hilfe fragen bezüglich der Verkleidung
recently picked up a 2001 mainly to grab parts off of. it had sat for 2 years winterized, no fuel in tank, and a LOT of oil in it. the guy that sold it to me had rode it around maybe 10 minutes after acquiring it, and when we were starting it before I bought it, it was billowing smoke. don't ask questions why this didn't dawn on me right then and there, I was too awestruck by how good the external condition was. I just didn't think of the fact it might be carrying a ton of oil because of the winterization it had done to it. owner had passed away so very limited info.
anyways, I get it back, ride it 5 minutes from my unloading point, the engine struggling the whole time and blowing crazy smoke. It actually ran out of fuel as I pulled in, so I thought the poor running condition was fuel.
now the next day it won't crank, I can hear the starter "try" and fail. I drain approx. 4 quarts of oil out of it, to where the sightglass is at normal level, there could've been a total of 6 quarts of oil in there, I need to measure. I tried starting again with normal oil level, won't crank. I quit for today but tomorrow im going to inspect the airbox (which is almost certainly soaked), pull the spark plugs, and try turning the rear wheel by hand in 6th to try and clear some of this out.
what my question is, what are the chances this thing is a paperweight, given that it was ridden in this crazily overfilled condition? I have an old parts bike that has a waterlogged engine I can salvage bits from, but thats it. I read that running the engine like this will blow seals and bend rods so im pretty spooked.
NOTE: it is cold out, around freezing, so if there is loads of oil where it shouldnt be, I imagine the high viscosity may be enough to beat the strength of the starter motor. so maybe not fully hydrolocked but it definitely wont crank.
I'm looking for frame sliders for my 2007 s. But most of them show metal rods I'm assuming going through the frame to the other side. But do they all have/need that? And how easy is that to implement, I'm not a mechanic but just a bit handy with motorcycles. Is it doable to install those with rods myself or will the engine fall out of the frame?
Also, if anyone has any recommendations for sliders, feel free to share :)
