is my electrical system messed up?

Sry if it’s a stupid question, I know they would eat me up in the main sub 😭
Hi, how to fix DYI , both front and back brake Signal stopped flashing but rear lights are okay, where to look at ??? Thanks, as in the dark it is dangerous to ride without STOPPING signal..
That's probably a dumb question but as always I am confused at every step of bike maintainance. So I got a new BS lithium battery for my 17' SV650 and the cable connectors do not fit onto these bigger battery terminals.
So I was thinking either to screw them in reverse, but then those bended metal parts would be sticking out preventing me to add rubber covers, or take pliers and makes these straight. Is that a way to go?
Hey guys, I recently installed a new chain and rear sprocket. I’m waiting to replace the front as I did not have one of the parts for the change. Everything was fine for a good week or so. Besides noticing the chain would be sometimes a little looser or tighter(likely the front sprocket). I just had an issue leaving the parking lot where I was using my rear brake to come to a stop and my wheel locked up. I wasnt going insanely hard or anything and Ive never had an issue with the rear locking up but its pretty weird. Has anyone had this issue? I’m nervous to take the bike out now knowing I could take a slide cause of a lock up. Thanks guys.
Hi, would the slightly sporty foot positioning of the SV650S pegs be advantageous for someone over 6’2”? VS the upright seating positioning of the naked version
Do any GSX-R models fit 3rd gen sv650? I'm looking to buy protection guards for the SV but there aren't a lot of options out there. Sport bikes are what everyone loves so everything you can think of is made for the sport bikes. Which years of any guard covers and crash bars will fit on a 3rd gen SV?
help me decide if its worth buying
2008 SV650 has 92000 KM(57000 Miles)
guy is asking for 2200$
its going to be my first bike.
My sv650 07 will stall in while moving if I hold the clutch in to long around the 30 to 50km speed range at slow speeds it won't just seems to happen at higher speeds anyone have an idea ?
Hi guys, just a quick one.
Anyone had any experience with the TRS or RS3 slip on from Yoshimura? Looking to get one and I can get access to a new one at decent discount.
My bike has a stock exhaust. Any videos, pics, advice or just a thumbs up is appreciated. TIA
Hi there, was having issues with this 2000 sv650 naked I’ve recently bought, it’s been off the road for about nine years but seems good condition considering, I have done the following: •new tank as previous was rusted •oil and filter •clean and soak sticky clutch •spark plugs •cleaned carbs (no sign of the rust getting into the carbs) •cleaned icv •adjusted floats •reset mixture screw •balanced carbs •checked cv rubbers •rebuilt petcock •rebuilt choke •new e5 fuel •added a2 inlet washer (35kw) restrictor
After all of this the bike still doesn’t go past 5k rpm I’ve read a lot of people have had this issue with the cv rubbers being torn or not seated correctly but they seem good to me, the only thing I was going to try was taking the restrictor out and seeing if it’s fine after that, any other suggestions would be appreciated!
Hi
After emailing all the synthetic oil manufacturers asking for a viscosity graph so I could see the behavior of their oil from -10°C to 0°C (14 to 32 in freedom units) and receiving either no response or the technical data sheet already available on the internet 🤦♂️...
I ask for your help as I find myself powerless, not a single YouTube video with some decent-ish comparisons uses 10w-40
Can someone shed some light into the upcoming freezing days so that cold starts don't become a bigger issue than they already are?
Using a lighter is out of the question because it wouldn't comply with my Suzuki SV650 gen 3 repair manual.
Thanks
I got my bike this season had haven’t stored it yet, I know the basic things that you should do, but the only one I need help with is weather I should drain the fuel out of the bike or fill it all the way up and put stabilizer in it. I was originally just going to fill it up and put stabilizer in it but I watched Fortnine’s video about stabilizers and how some just don’t work that well. I have carbs on my bike so I would be able to get all the fuel out. Thoughts?
Edit: it’s going to be stored in a garage that’s not heated.
Follow up on previous post, bike is a restricted model via ECU, I don't think it's the restrictor, do we think it's a TPS or potentially dirty/clogged fuel pressure regulator? It'll let me slowly rev it up but if I go 90-100% throttle it does this, holding it will eventually kick out of it. Apparently the pump was done before my ownership but it sat for maybe a year or 2 not sure. Who has experienced this? I've put nulon some injector cleaner in hopes it'll clear before having to pull apart the tank and clean it all.
Thanks
I have a 2001 sv650. I noticed when I’m just coasting the bike seems to slow and speed up at random. It’s a bit shifty and shaky. That’s the best way I can describe it. Is this normal?
I just got this bike, used, and it’s my first bike so I got no clue. Thanks for the help
Edit: when I say coast I meant just ridding the bike no throttle, clutch released. I dunno what it’s called
Just wondering what the sound is, bike is older had a fair amount of miles, 55k~ I’m assuming it needs the valve clearances done which I will be doing but would like some advice. Bike pulls perfectly fine and runs good from what I can tell
Also just bought it so I’m ready for a winter project haha
Hi Guys,
I am looking for crash guards. Possibly pretty wide, so they can protect legs during crash. Anyone knows where to find one?
Many thanks
Hi fellow riders,
Recently I made a stupid mistake and rode around without oil, (I know, I know) so the engine started to knock.
So Instead of rebuilding the engine, I just decided to replace it altogether. Looked everywhere locally, went to mechanics and whatnot with no avail, I'm in Georgia, (europe) couldn't find anything online as well, on Greek, American, Turkish, Polish, Russian and Japanese websites.
If you guys have any idea where I could possibly purchase engine online, please let me know.
Thanks.
Just changed rear brake pads and rotor and the brake doesn’t feel right. I also believe I am supposed to have a nut underneath the other one on the stud. If I am, does anyone know the specs of the nut so I can buy it? Thanks.
Hello, is this normal color of the engine oil? Recently I checked my oil level and its high. it doesn't level the right oil level so I remove the excess oil from it. I never changed my engine oil since it is still brand new, the odometer reading is 700km and the service manual says that I should change the oil about 1000km. I don't Know if the metallic particles on the oil are ok. Any opinions? Thanks
What are some crash bars you use that fit a 3rd gen sv650? Something not outrageously expensive. I live in U.S. Thanks in advance for sharing
When I took the bike for a test ride and when coasting around in first gear the bike sounded like it was struggling to stay alive and not die out is that normal? I’m talking like the bikes just rolling on idle power no throttle and your just walking it
Other than that it felt smooth and had lots of power when giving it throttle but I’m not too sure if that’s normal or not, it’s been a min since owning a twin
Hey everyone! I wondered if anyone could help diagnose a long-running issue with my 2004 Suzuki SV650S.
When riding, especially at speeds under 30 mph (48 kph), the bike randomly loses power for a split second before kicking back in. When this happens, there’s a noticeable loud splutter or ticking sound from below or in front of me, though it’s not coming from the exhaust. It’s worse at low speeds, and if it happens while going around a corner, it can really throw me off balance.
You can hear the noise in this video: (1) PXL 20240203 160357144~2 - YouTube
I have tired:
It sounds like a fuel splutter but not sure. I used to have rough idling issues but that seems to have disappeared. Any ideas?
Hi all, got a gladius recently.
Bikes an 09 and it rides great. The bike is restricted via ECU for lams so I was under the assumption it was the restriction or ECU cutting it. The bike rides through the rev range without hiccups or stuttering but once you wide open throttle the bike just rev bounces at 5000rpm so I'm not sure what it is. Apparently the fuel pump was replaced within 2 years that the previous owner had it, and it has a stubby short exhaust which I read could potentially cause back pressure issues. The previous owner couldn't ride it much due to surgery and becoming visually impaired so it did sit for a while, opening the tank it is a bit rusty. Has anyone had this issue?
Someone backed into my bike the other night while at work. Thankfully only bent the bar a bit. Was just wanting to hear some opinions on any aftermarket bars or if I should stick to buying OEM. TIA.
