Pretty much the whole point of ADV is to go far from the comfort and security of home. And once you're out there, your mind will be a little more at ease if your gear is in good condition.
Not just your bike needs maintaining. If you've got a camp set, be it your favorite refrigerator box, or your Barbie Dream Glamping Playset (batteries not included), is it still weather proof? Does your air mattress have a hole that you've been putting off patching? Here's your monthly reminder to get around to it sooner rather than later.
Also, feel free to ask any maintenance related questions, drop any tips you've figured out, or make vaguely related commentary.
Going on a group ride, and want extras? Going to a rally, and looking for someone "you know" to come along? This is the thread.
Please keep your location vague, and your first meets public.
Share your small adventures here. Maybe stuff that you don't feel needs a full post. Your little trip to a trail behind the house. A pic of your bike covered in mud. A pic of yourself covered in mud. A pic of your spouse covered in mud? Whatever. Here's a thread for the little stuff. Get those up votes. You deserve them.

I want to do some BDRs, and ride the allegheny national forest quite regularly. It's a 120 mile ride to the forest for me, all back roads. I'm not a new rider and can handle any maintenance. This would be my first "adventure " style bike.
Budget is 3 grand, full stop.

Hello fellow riders! So Iāve been planning a trip down south to Baja this February. The "planā is to camp out as much as possible until I reach the tip of the peninsula where Iāll be meeting up with my wife. Iāll be sticking to the gulf side of the peninsula, entering Mexico through the Mexicali side. If anyone can share cool spots to camp or cool unique places to visit. Any information is greatly appreciated. Also, if anyone is planning to be in Baja next month and want to meet up DM me. Cheers! Thanks in advance

January is boring and Iām thinking about adventures again. Iāve really been wanting to explore the Trans-Quebec Trail. I downloaded the app and Iām looking through the routes, but itās massive and I canāt find much info about which parts are best.
Can anyone give me advice on which sections to hit? Here are my thoughts:
Iād like to reserve about 5 or 6 days total, including the ride up from NYC.
Once I cross the border at 87/QC15, should I overnight in Quebec City and aim for the Gaspe peninsula? Or should I go straight to Saguenay and aim for the red route. Iāve always wanted to visit Lac Manicouagan (mostly childhood fascination with the shape of it on the map), but is that my best option?
Looking for something not on the insane side of challenging as Iāll likely be alone, and I donāt want to get in over my head ā buuut Iād be slightly disappointed if it was just packed gravel. Riding a BMW F750GS with the proper tires and protection.
TL;DR: whatās the best route for a New Yorker who wants to take 5-6 days to ride the TQT and not die?

If youāre thinking of doing the same, you can check out this video I made about the product considerations and installation steps: https://youtu.be/uO3nZspUAYY?si=8l1jdn7l__BcztMz
