Sup guys, quick question. Looking to do the cheap muffler mod on my 2024 Nightster. Pretty much just straight piping it with a shorter pipe. This guy goes into it in this video along with a sound test at the end. Sounds really good.

This guy does it in this video. Would this cause the bike to run lean? All of the research I've done it seems like people say as long as you only touch the exhaust and don't mess with the intake, the bikes ECU should be able to compensate and tune itself to the new exhaust set up. When you start doing more than exhaust is where the limitations of the stock tune come into play.
Is this true? Could I do this cheap exhaust set up and get away with it?
I bought this new in 2002. I'm a custom painter and have painted it a couple times over the years. Now I'm retired and find I'm just not riding much anymore. I've sold a couple other bike in the last few years and I think now is the time to say goodbye to the last one. I really hate to do it, it feels like letting go of a big piece of who I am, or have been...
Anyway, I know I'll never get the money I've invested in it back. Still, I'm hesitant to put it up locally (Missoula, MT) on FB or Craigslist at the going rate for bikes of this vintage, as I'd likely be selling myself way short.
This bike is not for everyone, but my hope is there's somebody out there who sees it and has to have it. It's one of a kind :) Hopefully that person has deep pockets :)
FWIW - I would charge $7-8,000 to do this paint job for someone else.
Any advise on how to get the most $ out of this bike?
Any estimates on it's resale value? I see stock '02 Ultra's going from $6-16K
Below are some notes I just jotted down.
Thanks,
Madshadow

Riding from Los Angeles to Pittsburgh for a little bit of work / pleasure. Left Los Angeles this morning for a planned overnight in Richfield, UT.
Waiting out the snowfall in Cedar City, UT at a Love’s. The snow kept sticking to my face shield. Way too hard to see to ride safely. Just over 100 miles left to my planned destination for the day.
Snow is supposed to stop in another half hour or so. Wasn’t in the forecast when I checked last night. Oh well, got plenty of time and I’m not in any hurry!
So I just started my 2023 heritage classic for a ride, had it in neutral as I was backing it out of my gravel driveway. Lost my footing and slipped on my left side and the bike tipped over. Fortunately I had forward mounted engine guards, but it still went down. I got it back up, cleared the tip error, but my check engine light is still on. I turned the bike off and on and waited but still no joy. Ran the diagnostics and it says the speedometer failed with a part number that indicates the speedometer has a fault (pn 70900644b).
Is it more likely there is just a loose connection or is it really possible that my $18,000 bike has a broken speedometer gauge from a 0 mile an hour, ground level tip?
Thoughts/help?
Thanks!
The Bar and Shield is my favorite.
Just realized my SGS has 18s in the rear from the stock 16s on the 2014s. Any positives of going with 18s rather than going back to 16s?
Current setup is:
Tire Size: 130/60B19 61H TL fronts
Tire Size: 180/55B18 80H TL rears
Stocks were 180/65B16 rears
Thank you
Hello
I have inherited a 2019 Harley Fatboy from my father who passed away this last September.
Before he passes he bought a few things for a bike that I thought it needed. A brown leather seat, smoked lenses for the signals with the switchback LEDs.
I always disliked the looks of the front and rear fenders though. Otherwise the bikes perfect to me.
I'd like to keep the stock brown seat so I'm wondering if anyone has found some decent rear fenders, or had ideas to change the rear fender and still keep the stock seat?
Looking to get a new exhaust, something more reasonable noise wise. I’ve had a Bassani shorty and with a 475 can and dyno tune the bike is louder than I can deal with more than an hour and I like to ride for 3-4 hours. So does anyone have any suggestions? Currently back on a stock exhaust while I look for a replacement.
I need to change the fork seals on my 18 fat bob. How big of a job is this? I’ve checked a couple YouTube videos, but none of them are specific to the fat bob. I’ve got the parts in the mail, but there is a local company saying they can do the job for $220. Wondering if it’s best to just let someone else take care of it or do it myself.
I recently purchased my first Harley!A 2023 Road Glide standard!I've mostly rode Japanese bikes in the past! The last time I rode was maybe the middle of 2017!I'm a little freaked out by the position of the shifter lever and the floor boards! Most of the bikes I rode before had footpegs to rest your feet on!And,the position of your legs was straight down!On my RG it's seems your feet are positioned somewhat forward!I find when I'm riding I'm looking down at my left foot alot!Just wondered if anyone else discovered this after riding there first Harley! Thanks, in advance!

My light kit is connected directly to the battery with an inline fuse on the positive terminal. I’d like move it to an auxiliary plug. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
Put Z bars on my 96 dyna, cant figure out how I'm gonna mount my gauges. Existing mounts won't work cuz the gauges run into the clutch and brake lines. Any solutions or decent aftermarket options?
I’m new to Harley but have ridden a pile of other brands over the last 20 years. Went to my dealer and told the parts guys I wanted to do a full 3 hole oil change (2009 FLHTP) . Manual says I need 32 ounces in the transmission and 38 in the primary. They gave me this kit with 67.6 ounces of trans fluid. Am I missing something ? Do I short the transmission or the primary or both or do I need to go back and get another jug?
Working on some issues with my bike (carb tweaking [still] rear brake wont bleed?).. during all this I started to c lean her up nice.. and was curious as to what products/process other use on their chrome parts?
If new.. nothing but a wipe.. but older stuff.. gets some light pitting...smears..etc.
Q: What can be used? (but will keep/protect the actual chrome? and just clean/pretty it up?)
I’ve been a little rough with my Street Bob 114 with installing a RAM mount and it marked up my handlebars a bit. Not only that but I managed to drop my bike in the dealership parking lot the other day and scratched a corner of my mustache engine guard all to hell. Not mad that it did it’s just, but looking to maybe sand it with 1000 grit sand paper and use some vivid black touch up paint and clear coat. Any other suggestions? It’s about a good 2 inches on the corner of the engine guard near the bottom.
My fuel pump priming sound has changed for some reason, it makes this weird high pitch sound. Anyone know what could cause this? Street bob 2015
