I don't mean an adjective like "bitter/tangy/sweet"
I mean the taste itself eg; Dragonfruit = apple meets watermelon or Baileys = cocoa
I’m hoping someone can give me some insight. He went to the liquor store and picked up a 30 pack of Bud ice and said it was the only one in the store. Did they relaunch Bud ice? Is it still being sold? The only info i can find online is that it was discontinued in 2010.
For context, I'm a pretty avid beer drinker and like to learn and try new beers pretty regularly. I was feeling like I was well on my way to becoming a pretty knowledgable beer person until I read this random article about Trappist beer yesterday and found out that all Trappist beer isn't from Belgium. I'm now embarrassed because this is a beer fact I used to drop on people.
What other beer facts do I need to know to get closer to being a respectable beer nerd?
Pliny is starting to be shipped out and a few bars have confirmed tap dates, where are you going for yours and have you seen any confirmed dates yourself?
With the new tariffs in Canada, what’s a good Canadian beer that won’t break the bank, I used to drink Budweiser.
Newbie question - I puchassd these beer mugs and they have a 0.4L increment engraved in them. What's the significance?
Im broke so I'm drinking cheap beer tonight. It's between big can of God awful natty daddy(we have a weird relationship.) OR a 40 olde English. Which can I trust to get me buzzed the most tonight?
I have a six-pack of Red Star, “Imported from East Berlin GDR” - which tells you how old it is. At 40-some years old, I doubt it’s at all drinkable, but it occurred to me to wonder if anyone collects things like this? Would make a good movie prop at this point!
I have a group of friends and we rotate hosting a dinner every month. They are all wine drinkers and I don't care for wine. So I am planning a beer pairing menu. Menu below and recommendations appreciated. I have access to 2 really good liquor stores that can usually track down just about any brand so if there are specific beers you like please pass them along
Appetizer course - Brie with a pilsner Salad course - Caesar salad with a whitbier Main - roast pork with carrots and mashed potatoes with an amber ale Dessert - chocolate cake with a doublebock Digestif - Belgian triple
I've had at least one beer from 48 states (and D.C.) and my goal is to have at least one from every state. The only two states I'm missing are Arkansas and West Virginia.
I live in California and have never seen beer distributed here that was made in either of those two states. While some day I could see taking a trip to both states to finally complete my list, I'm wondering if there is an online beer retailer that carries beer made in Arkansas and West Virginia that ships to California.
They made a hoppy 3% IPA that I loved. Perfect for little get togethers where you're not trying to get too tanked or rambunctious. I can't find it anywhere anymore. I'm curious if they just stopped selling it or my area is just into stronger shit?
Hello all,
I love a nice bottle of stout. Especially this time of year with the cold weather, nothing quite beats sipping on a dark stout while watching a fire slowly burn, with no other lights on in the house, reading a good book or watching a good movie. I’m new to this community, so I’m quite ignorant to the best beers out there. I was hoping some of you could help me in finding the darkest, most unbearably bitter stout out there. I love the taste of bitter dark chocolate or coffee. But I don’t know which beer will replicate this taste best. Any recommendations? Thank you.
What beers would you consider “high quality” based on things like water and brew process ingredients etc.
It appears that both the website and app are still up (I haven't tried entering a rating today though)
Was it rescued, or they just haven't gotten around to turning things off. Or will it live on as an unmaintained ghost site?
In my short time of drinking beer, I have not had a beer I thought tasted bad from Sierra Nevada. I was wondering if anyone has had a beer from them they thought was bad? Not just okay, but undrinkable? Maybe from when they were just a fledgling brewery?
I wanted to figure out which popular/common beers I do and do not like, and actually write it down so I remember when I'm at random parties or bars. Ideally, I want to try 2-6oz of each popular brand (Budlight, Corona, Modelo, Pacifico, Miller, Heineken, etc), although of course I don't expect to find some kind of 2oz variety pack. It seems like buying a 4 or 6 pack would be cheapest, but I'd hate to buy a 6 pack just to find out that I hate it on the first sip. My local Total Wine store sells some single cans (cheaper than the mutlipacks), but they don't sell single cans for every brand. I just figured I'd ask in case anyone has done something similar and has recommendations or a better idea.
Just curious thanks .
Hello all. I (21F) live in British Columbia, Canada, and though I became the legal drinking age at 19, it took until this past summer for me to develop a taste for beer. I was studying in Poland and after a long hot day I was inexplicably craving a cold beer. I had a Zywiec and I really liked it, and I've been really enjoying beer ever since.
I only like Lagers, because they're light, and my taste buds are still developing. I like Corona, Molson Canadian, Modelo, Stella. My favourite is Budvar (sold here as 'Czechvar'). I tried Pilsner Urquell and it was too bitter for me. Coors Light tastes like Seltzer.
What should I try next on my beer journey? I'm on a student budget so nothing fancy, and preferably in a six pack, but it doesn't need to be.
Hi there.....new to group and would love to know what people consider their favourite hefeweizen beer and also any recommendations on pubs / venues in Melbourne Australia that may have some on tap
I live in rural SW Georgia and I'm interested in finding Amber Ales and Lagers. I'm wondering if there are any quality beers of this nature from a brewer that reaches a lot of rural hub cities of as few as 65k in population in the Southeast US. Alternatively, anything I might not know about affordable delivery options directly to my residence is appreciated.
I'm from the westcoast of Canada and back in the day we never got any Firestone Walker. Travelled to Vegas in 2011 and tried Double Jack IPA and was blown away. Had it every time I went to Vegas and was saddened in 2016 (I think) when they discontinued it. I randomly just googled it and noticed they brought it back in 2020?
Question is, is it the same as the original? Are they still making it now? I need to have this again. Thanks.

To be honest, I've had both, but I'm not a light beer guy. I'm just back on my working out every day grind, and like to have a beer every couple of days. The 100 calories makes it so I don't have to suffer the next day with cardio.
Flight- This is their competition to fight "Ultra" beer. I like it, it has a light fluffy taste, but nothing else. It taste like watered down Yuengling standard.
Eight- This is their "active" beer line. (Like anybody who is obsessed with health drinks a lot of beer.) It is a hoppier version of Flight.
Thoughts?
I am setting up a float for my local idiotarod (themed shopping cart race for alcoholics) and I effectively want to make a Modelosaurus. Bare minimum I want my float to be able to dispense beer from the mouth in when the neck is lowered horizontally, but can any one tell me if a keg with a hand pump can put out enough pressure to offensively spray beer when my float’s head and neck are in the upright position?
