ISO Sierra Nevada Celebration cask

I know it's early still, but can anyone recall a local bar that's might have this on cask? Still drooling over the one I had two years ago at the Brick Store in Decatur, GA.

Sports bar with good NA beer

Doing the sober October thing this month but also want to watch football with my crew. Any sports bars in Portland with a decent non alcoholic beer on tap?

Portland & Oregon Coast Beer Trails App Beta Now Available! Plus, The Oregon Beer Trail App Mock-up Preview

We’re excited to announce that all Portland Breweries, Taprooms/Bottle Shops, Bars/Lounges/Pubs, Arcade Bars, Cideries, Distilleries, Meadery, Coffee Shops and Homebrewing Stores have been added to the app, with a fresh new user interface!

We’re in the final stages of making updates and additions before officially submitting the new app name and icon to the App Stores.

If you want to be among the first to try it out, you can download the app from the Apple or Google Play stores under the current name Oregon Coast Craft Beer Trail:

•    Apple Store: https://apps.apple.com/nz/app/oregon-coast-craft-beer-trail/id1577993796

•    Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fhmsol.tp.occbt&hl=en_US&gl=US&pli=1

I look forward to the community’s feedback as we continue to improve and refine the app!

Additionally, I’ve included a mock-up of The Oregon Beer Trail app:

The Oregon Beer Trail, your guide to all 316+ Oregon Breweries

While waiting on my app developer to finish the Portland & Oregon Coast Beer Trails app, I decided to finally finish the Oregon brewery guide I've been working on for the past couple years that covers ALL 317+Breweries in the state as well as 92+ Tap Rooms/Bottle Shops, 7 Home Brewing Supply Stores as well as all regional Beer Trails/guides. I also included breweries just over the border in Washington, Idaho and California: https://www.theoregonbeertrail.com/

Our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theoregonbeertrail?igsh=MXA5aWwzeDQ2MHo5Zw==

I'm sure I missed a few breweries so if you notice any missing, feel free to let me know and I will add them!

I'm already working on an app that we plan on releasing in February with an interactive map and the Oregon Pint Passport which will be packed full of discounts on beer at participating breweries.

I will also be using this guide to help promote the Oregon Beer Summit which will be a multi day beer fest/industry conference held next Fall in Portland featuring beer from every brewery in the state!

Cheers!

Jonathan

Dark Arts Festival Tickets (Fort George, Ast.)

Hola todos,

Couple buddies and I planned on attempting this last year and were skunked when we went to buy tickets about an hour after tickets went up for sale. Had no idea they were so limited/so sought after. Anyone have any experience successfully buying tickets to the Dark Arts Festival and have any tips? Is this a get in the moment it opens situation (what I'm planning for this year)? Not try to step on anyones morels here, but I'm an Astoria native and huge Fort George fan who's never been and would love the opportunity!

Cheers, J

Can’t miss beers currently on tap?

Hi all! I have quite a list of breweries to visit over the next two days, but I was wondering if there are any can’t miss beers on tap at the moment - I understand we’re in Fresh Hop season! TIA!

Edit: Thanks everyone for the great suggestions! Added stops and updated specifics to try. Can’t wait!

Edit 2: Wow, the beer knocked my socks off!! I’m so sad to be home. Made it to Grand Fir, Loyal Legion, Rogue, Living Haus, Baerlic, BeerMongers, Great Notion, Brujos, Breakside, and Treebeerd’s.

My personal favorite pours: Great Notion’s Fresh Hop Ripe (actually returned next day to have more), Double Mountain Peche Cuvée at Loyal Legion, and Brujos’s Red Communion. Bartleby at Living Haus was one of the most interesting beers I’ve tried - my first experience with the style and was surprised at the amount of flavor in such a low abv

Has anyone tried the new Kirkland’s 2024 Vintage Ale at Costco, brewed by Deschutes? Any thoughts?

Where to get a Fresh Hop on Draft?

Where around downtown has started to pour fresh hops on draft? I know not everyone has released theirs yet.

Headed to Seattle and The Gorge - good stops on the way?

I'll be roadtripping to Seattle then The Gorge then back to Portland next weekend. Any recommendations for breweries/shops on that route?

Extra credit: Recommendations for places near T-Mobile Park before a Mariners game. Thanks!

Best Oktoberfest Label I’ve Seen

Going through Oktoberfest beers while in season and picked this one up based solely on the label alone (although I have been meaning to try more Oak Union beers).

I enjoyed it, but for me it drank less like an Oktoberfest lager and more like a regular lager. It finished a tad heavier than your usual lager though which I expected given its 6.1% ABV.

In short - not a bad beer but if you’re looking for something more of the season you may want to try something else. Love that label art though.

Fresh Hop Releases 2024

Does anyone keep track of fresh hop releases as they start to come out? I was hoping for some kind of listing of what’s out, if it’s in stores or just on tap, etc. Is there a resource for this anywhere?

RIP The Commons

Rose and elderflower saison. Brewed 2017 sometime before they closed, still pouring and tasting excellent. Hot take - Commons closing and Modern Times moving in was the inflection point and start of some challenging years for pdx breweries.

Any idea if there will be a Portland Fresh Hop fest this year?

I can only find information on past events. I haven't found anything for 2024. I see the Hood River one but was hoping there would be one at Oaks Park as well? Anyone know if there will be one this year?

Will be visiting 9/2-9/6

Are there any special releases or special events I should make a point to hit up? I'll be staying downtown so walkability or public transport would be preferred. Cheers!

Bought two tickets but can't go anymore. 1-4 for VIP session but event continues until 8. Beer, food, and a chance to support a rad organization. I'll need to send your name to the organizers so will do a random pick around 10pm tonight if there's more than one person interested! https://newavenues.org/brews-for-new-avenues/

Any home brewers need fresh hops?

I grow hops every year to shade the south side of my house. I believe the varieties are mt hood and cascade. I’d love them to donate them to a home brewer. Any takers?

Best PDX Taproom?

Looking for a good taproom Saturday that has drafts from several breweries. Looking for a cool vibe! Its a plus if they also sell canned beer.

Brewers of Defunct PDX Breweries

Obviously every situation is different, but where do they go after their breweries close? Do they join established breweries and work with their teams? Do they go back to homebrewing and get a "regular" job? It came up in conversation and I figured someone on this sub could shine some light. Thanks!

Where on the can does it list the ABV amount? My wife and i can't find it. We assume the laws require it to be in each can???? Where is it?
