Does anyone happen to have an extra OG dancing gnome pint glass with the gold print and skyline on the back? Mine broke and it doesn't look like they sell it anymore.
Driving through about 30 minutes ago and didnt have phone in hand to take a pic. did anyone else catch the african cusine employee dumping cooking oil into the sewer drain that is in front of their establishment?
Visiting this weekend from Cincinnati any brewery does cask ale around here?
Just saw on Facebook that Cellar Works is closing. Too bad because I've had some solid beers there over the years.
Not sure if this Facebook link will work....

In a year full of difficult announcements, this one is the hardest. With extremely heavy hearts, we’re announcing the closure of Cellar Works Brewing. Our final service will be Saturday October 26.
Reflecting on the past 7 and a half years, we have a lot to be proud of. We've made a lot of great beers - some even won very prestigious awards. Each iteration of our kitchen has knocked our socks off with incredible dishes. One thing we’re particularly proud of is our relationship with the community. Sarver and Saxonburg welcomed us and we did what we could to give back. We will treasure the many friendships we’ve made, especially those with our Cellar Society members past and present whose support kept us going during the very difficult pandemic years.
After the pandemic, we could never really regain the traction we had in 2019 and our attempts to expand were poorly timed to say the least. It’s impossible for anyone to understand how much we’ve sacrificed to make CWBCo exist. However, there comes a time when we have to stop sacrificing and start to focus on ourselves. Therein lies the silver lining. We now have an opportunity to step away from the stresses of operating a business to have more time to focus on our families.
Someone once told me that its obvious which people open a brewery because they think they’ll get rich and which ones open a brewery because they’re passionate about beer. My only hope is that our passion for beer was obvious.
Stay tuned for upcoming events, announcements, and discounts. We hope you all stop out over the next couple of weeks and buy us out of beer. Cellar Society, watch for a final party announcement.
Sincerely, John, Laura, and Tim

Does anyone have an extra Dancing Gnome 8th Anniversary Glass or would be willing to sell theirs? Willing to negotiate!
The 16th Annual Brewing for a Cause will take place on October 19th at Velum Fermentation in the South Side. General admission is $25 (3-6 PM), or you can opt for VIP access for $30 (2-6 PM), both offering unlimited tastings of beer, cider, and spirits from over 30 local home brewers and 10 local breweries and distilleries. The event will feature raffles, food trucks, a 50/50 drawing, live music, and vendors. All proceeds will benefit Paws Across Pittsburgh, a local animal rescue organization. It is truly one of the best beer events of the year. If you have any questions please post them!
We just got a self-contained camper van for river adventures in SWPA and would like to expand our brewery radius, too — ideally by parking overnight and hitting the water first thing in the morning. Are there any you’d recommend? So far I’ve triangulated the ”worth a drive” threads with Harvest Hosts listings, and can confirm Cobblehaus at the Falls is as awesome as everyone says; beyond that, though, there’s surprisingly little overlap.
For brewers / staff here: what‘s the proper etiquette to inquire without putting any individual on the spot? Or should we just beg forgiveness rather than ask permission (which may mean occasionally driving to the nearest Sheetz at 3am)?
I would like to invite anyone in the Pittsburgh, PA area out to our Mead Day celebration this Saturday 10-5-24 from 12 PM to 7 PM! We are having music from Four String Fighter and The Lunch Lady on Wheels food truck plus we will be sampling a number of local (and some not so local) meads. Plus some free munchies.
Laurel Highlands Meadery is located at 1400 Broad Street in Greensburg, PA 15601.
Please feel free to bring any mead you would like to share or you would like feedback on. We love sharing mead and helping everyone to make a better beverage! As always, if you need any assistance on making mead, starting a meadery, or just geeking out over mead give us a shout!!
Been working all wknd and would love to enjoy my day off with a brew if possible. Any breweries open?
Hi Pittsburgh Beer enthusiasts. I am in search of a can or two (full or empty) of DG's latest in their bridge series, Roberto Clemente. I was in the process of acquiring all 13 labels of this year's series with the intention of having them framed. I placed an order with DG last week and when i went to pick up, unfortunately it had been sold out. I reached out to the brewery to ask about distribution but all the places they have listed no longer have it in stock. If anyone knows of any distributor that may have them or if you yourself are willing to part with a can or two (full or empty) please let me know. I'm located near the airport but willing to drive. Any help would be appreciated!
Hey everyone. I know there was a thread for this release a month or so ago, but details are still scarce. Untappd shows that people have been drinking Over, so I assume it's available somewhere.
Does anyone know where? Do I have to go up to Creighton to get it at the Pittsburgh Brewing Company store?
Just went. Great spot. Staff was awesome. Beer was solid. The kolsh and Mexican lager was great. They have a low abv neipa, almost a session that's incredible. I could easily drink that all day. Definitely a stop to try out.
The building was just sold. I guess I'm not surprised since it's usually pretty slow there. But I will miss the beer garden and live music.
Can anyone recommend a distributor that has a decent selection of sixth barrels? Not really looking for anything in particular, just a decent variety.
Cheers
Last couple times I’ve been to Grist House they had 8/9 beers on tap. Am I misremembering or did they used to have it closer to 15? If so, what happened?
First - Personally, I love Brew Gentlemen......But I hate their small cans! WTF. Second - Too many beer distributors are comfortable selling old, dusty & stale "local craft beer". It sucks having to check dates all the time.
Anyone gonna be at Beers of the Burgh tomorrow? What beers or breweries are you most excited to try? Anything special I should prioritize?
