Brewery Seating Question

My wife and I are visiting this week and love visiting some of the breweries in the area. We always like to sit at the bar when possible, but that wasn't allowed when we were out there in April. I'm just curious if anything has changed in that regard.

Where can a find a Coconut Stout?

I live in Henderson and I once had a Coconut Stout at a bar in San Francisco. That was 2 years ago and I've yet to find one here. I'm interested in purchasing some in bottles if anybody knows of where I can get them near me.

Newish to LV

Been in Vegas about a year but having done much exploring due to Covid. Stopped by Golden Fog for some coffee and asked about some of the breweries around there. Didn't know LV had a pretty popping beer scene. As a homebrewer this has new super stoked. Although this sub doesn't seem to active but am looking forward to hearing about events and promos such as pub crawls. Glad to be here!

Brewery with a good Hefeweisen and Wheat beers?

My husband always has a hard time finding Hefeweisens and Wheat beers at breweries. Usually, they are full of IPAs which he doesn't love. Do you know of any breweries in town with a good selection for him? I was looking at Able Baker's but they only had 2 on their list. Any help greatly appreciated. Thank you!

New Brewery - Downtown Henderson

Right across the street from Lovelady is Mojave Brewing. Great beers!! In the old Bank of America. They did a great job remodeling, and it's definitely worth the drive. They opened right before the shutdown, and managed to hang in there.

How are the breweries doing right now?

I was supposed to visit Vegas last week and always try to visit several local breweries when I'm there. Just wondering how they're surviving during this difficult time. Hoping no one has to shut down for good.

Visiting Next Week - Where Should I Visit?

Hey everybody,

I usually have pretty good luck in city beer subreddits - figured I'd give Las Vegas a shot! I'm visiting Vegas from Boston for a couple days next week, before and after a backpacking trip in the Grand Canyon. Which taprooms should I make sure to visit? The map at the top of the thread is great, but I probably don't have time to hit all of them. I'm a big fan of IPAs, NEIPAs, and sours, but pretty open to trying other styles. The only thing I don't really care for are Belgian styles. I'd like to check out the local brewery scene, and hopefully add to the brewery sticker collection I've got going on my cooler.

Open about location as long as it's roughly in Las Vegas, since I'll have a car and have a couple errands to run for the trip. I'll have one afternoon and night when we're staying in Silverado Ranch, and then a few days later another afternoon and night downtown, off Fremont Street.

Thanks for your help! Cheers.

Vegas Beer Drinking Social Club

Hello everyone,

Is anyone interested in a Vegas Beer Drinking Social Club? We can meet up once a month at different bars and enjoy a few beers. If anyone is interested or if you know of any existing “clubs” let me know.

Is it possible to get Pliny the Elder or other great California beers in Las Vegas? Best bottle shop in the area?

Hey guys, I'm visiting in a few weeks from NC. I'd love to find a local bottle shop where I can pick up some rare beers that I can't get back home. I know Pliny comes from CA and that they don't officially distribute into Nevada, but I'd still love to find a bottle, even if it means paying a premium for one.

I'd also love to get a Utopias while I'm there since it's impossible to buy in NC.

Is there a bottle shop like what I'm looking for?

Able Baker is finally open in the Arts District!

Let's add it to the map. I went down there the day they opened and had a blast. The beers are amazing, of course, but we already knew that about Able Baker.

The place was packed, even though it's so spacious. Saw lots of familiar faces down there.

I tried about 5 of their beers, I think. My favorite discovery was their Honey-dipped Stout. I also liked their Waddle Session IPA, which I'd never tried. The one that I didn't like was the Rollin Smoke Amber.

Get your butts down there, though. Place is awesome and a lot of us have been anticipating this opening for a long time.

REVISION

I’m going to be in town in exactly one month and I was wondering what places would be the best shot to get Revision NE IPAs on draft or in four packs to-go. I see 595 has one on draft currently but I can’t seem to find any other locations with Revision.

Are there other places in Vegas (preferably near the strip) with a good selection of hazy IPAs that may not necessarily include Revision beers? I don’t know much about the local scene and if there are local breweries or tap rooms focused on this style.

I ventured over to the west side to check out Scenic Brewing on DI. Worth it.

They opened a couple months ago, I think. Took over the long-gone Old School brewery.

I had an american IPA and a stout. Both were good. I was excited about their food menu because it's a long list with many intriguing items and fair prices, but I was kind of bored with my burger tbh.

I also mentioned to the bartender how happy I was that they didn't have video poker machines (because I hate 'em), and he admitted that they were going to be installing some. I get it, they bring in a lot of money.

Overall I dug it. Might make it in to my regular rotation.

What does that bring us up to, 20ish breweries in the valley?

Anybody else remember Old School? I remember you could get a big pour of a decent imperial stout for pretty cheap.

Finback in Vegas??

A week or two ago I stopped into a bottle shop on S. Fort Apache (Top Shelf I believe it was) and they had a Finback beer in stock. I didn't purchase because it was a wheat beer (don't care much for the style). How the hell does this place have Finback? Do they get it often or couple times a year? Do they get any of their IPA's? Or was this a one and done deal? Finback is based in Queens btw.

F / 33, Who's been to Astronomy Ales yet?

Pretty stoked to see an astronomy themed brewery in town. Want to hear your honest thoughts. Do they do anything there, like trivia nights and such? Also want to know which beer is worth trying there. Love sours, ambers, and Hefs, but I'll try others.

Is IPA dead? I brought 8 of these to a party and returned with 8 of these and an empty growler.

Beers for trade from New Mexico!

Hi everyone, I just got back from a trip home to ABQ and picked up some beer that I’d be down to trade. I have eight cans of NM State Fair Hazy Pale Ale from Marble(12oz, down to trade 1-1), and one can each(16oz) of wet-hopped Elevated IPA and Project Dank Experimental IPA Autumn Edition(canned on 9/27/18)from La Cumbre.

If you’d be interested in trading, let me know and we can meet at a brewery here in town.

Able Baker Brewing - Coconut Kiloton

Able Baker is launching it's Coconut Kiloton very soon. Below are the dates and deets around the launch.

Launch Parties at:

ABOUT COCONUT KILOTON A kiloton is "a unit of explosive power equivalent to 1,000 tons of TNT" and is the measuring unit used to evaluate atomic and nuclear devices. In 1946, beginning with the detonation of a 21 kiloton device, the United States began nuclear testing at Bikini Atoll in the Pacific. These tests damaged the island and much of it's vegetation but "nature always finds a way" and the first element to prove it's resilience and return was the coconut. Here we celebrate that fastidious fruit by brewing an Imperial Dark Ale with so much toasted coconut that it literally "explodes" with coconut flavor! Being an Able Baker beer, however, that's simply not enough so we aged it in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels and then rested it on cocoa nibs. The result is a sultry, boozy, brew with bold, upfront coconut, and reserved tinges of chocolate and cherrywood. BOOM goes the coconut!

Get out their and try it, report back for everyone to know!

Coming Soon

I'm going to be in Las Vegas in a few weeks. I'm wondering, what are the best breweries to visit? What are the best beers to drink? Is there any where you would suggest that sells single beers so that I can take a big variety home?

TIA

Coming to town next month

Hey folks. I'm coming into town from Atlanta for a trade show the first week of June. I won't have a lot of time to try y'all's beer there, but I should be able to spare some. What is out there that I shouldn't miss?

Anybody interested in any Atlanta / southeast US beer?

RUMOR: New Brewery coming to town

I was reading an article from the Review Journal (This one) about Skinny Fats taking over the location that Lyfe kitchen is at on Green Valley.

In there they mention that Skinny Fats is looking to expand one of it's locations (Dean Martin) to included a Brewery and Tap Room.

Anyone else heard about this?
